Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Mind you, Guacamelee isn't the longest game ever. Took me 7 hours on normal, and that was for 100% completion. 4 hours on hard, so 11 hours for platinum.

edit: top of page - Guacamelee obviously, MGS Collection if you've never played Snake Eater (can be downloaded separately in the store), or Dokuro for a fun puzzle platformer.

Same deal with the trailers for the PS3 version, wich turned out to be just fine.
Well, the framerate was. Those jaggies where painfull.

I was going to feel bad, but it seems at least a few people agree with me.

I simply did not enjoy the Soul Sacrifice demo. I have never cared for Monster Hunter, but will always love PSO. The differences may be subtle, but they are there.
I can see some potential for liking SS over MH, but not enough right now to make me want to spend more time with SS.

So I will pass on it for now. Plenty of other games I still have not touched yet as a fairly new Vita owner. :)

The difference between PSO and games like MH and SS are pretty huge. The combat and boss fights have there similarities but PSO is a lot more about questing and killing weaker monsters and farming loot. Closer to the likes of the diablo games but slower and in third person.

Personally I prefer the PSO style game as well and really want PSO2 to get localised. However Il possible just get it on PC if that ever gets here and Vita version doesn't.

Im in 2 minds with SS. I like it. But I recently platinumed Ragnarok and kinda want a break from the genre for a bit. So I might leave it a bit...... saying that il prob just buy it day one anyway haha.

Draw Slasher on the iPhone is incredibly boring. Unless the Vita version completely changed the core gameplay, I recommend staying away from it.

Wow. Started playing Persona 4 Golden and I'm in awe. I put about 10-15 hours into the PS2 version a long time ago but I'm so amazed how good the Vita version is. It's like playing it all fresh. The resolution is perfect. All the animations are so smooth and it looks like the game was a vita native game, not a PS2 port.

It's a great RPG to boot. Really enjoying it. Glad I picked it up finally.

I only use touch in SS if I get sacrificed. The whole lacriment touch is pointless. You can use touch on the book, but i find the buttons and analog way faster

Yeah i want to know too, i would buy it if decent, it's a lot of time since the last turn based military strategy game i played.

I saw some videos of generation of chaos pandora reflection(psp) and i'm interested.
At first i was really disappointed because it's nothing like the generation of chaos i bought and loved, but goc:pr it's more "bite sized", even if it's complete opposite of the first one it looks interesting, i'll buy when in offer(well it's price is not high, 19.99€, for a new game)

Hope I can just buy JD one, that would be enough for me, and there's good hope it runs at decent clip. The PSP Daxter spinoff was good too, wouldn't mind an updated version of that either. ;)

it will not be. don't get your hopes up! how would they implement that for people who bought the disc? the only way it was done previously with disc games was something already on the disc, accessible via the xmb.

It would obviously only be for download versions like with the Wipeout 2048 DLC (there was an EU retail version). Together with PSP backwards compatibility it wouldn't be the first time that Sony treats retail buyers worse.
They already had retroactive cross buy for late ports like Hustle Kings.

But because they didn't mention it I guess the game won't be YOPO.

What was so bad about the Golden Abyss swiping though? The only one that gave me trouble was Guerro on crushing. But it wasn't the half moon swipes, it was the ones at the beginning that literally seemed like you had less than a split second to execute the swipe.

Guerro ruined that game for me. When I was done with him on Hard I was pretty much done with the game forever.

This. I don't know why but going from bottom right to upper left just would not register for me and it frustrated me to no end. I originally was going to plat the game and I was close but I stopped half way through crushing.

hustle kings was digital-only, so i'd think it would be easy to check a users download list.

you definitely are right about wipeout. i would still argue that it is a completely unique situation. it was only released at retail in the EU like you said, and it only gave you free dlc for wipeout 2048. it's not really the same as giving a free game, since you would have to buy wipeout 2048 to play it.

i suppose it could go either way though. you make a good point. i still think people shouldn't keep their hopes up.

0_0. I just hope it's not as bad as Golden Abyss touch-based minigames.

I liked most of the games gimmicks, only the introduction of the mechanics was badly paced. Everything was so frontloaded, which made a wrong impression of the game.
After those tutorials the game got better and the gimmicks were integrated more naturally.

Only the final boss fight was stupid.

While we are discussing it. I actually think it's very funny that the hold your vita against the light gimmick gets mentioned so often negatively when speaking about Uncharted. It was implemented once and worked well, unlike the buggy mess in AC: L.

I actually had a lot of trouble at that part. I had to get my Samsung GSIII and shine the light on the back to get it to work. Made sure I cleaned it and everything and nothing would work except that.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but I saw this on the PS Blog for Zombie Tycoon 2

Im interested in the jak and daxter collection, i never played them before. I played a demo for a psp jak and daxter but that wasnt done by them and i think it was considered terrible. Didnt get the ps3 version bc i dont have the time to play them. On vita its perfect, have more time to play on vita, suspend mode, less of a back log then on ps3 etc. More devs should take note, i bought nfs on vita for the same reasons.

Ummm guys,

Random thought...

Cthulhu Saves the World All-Stars
PC, PSN (definitely Vita, probably PS3/Vita cross-buy)
$10
Includes remakes of Breath of Death VII & Cthulhu Saves the World
Remakes would have visuals on par with Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4.
Gameplay would be rebalanced & would include some of the stuff we've added in the PA series.
Would also include two new "games" - Breath of Death XIII-2: Undead in Time and Cthulhu Saves the Galaxy.
Breath of Death XIII-2 would be inspired by Space Quest IV. i.e. you'd travel to other "installments" of the Breath of Death series.
Cthulhu Saves the Galaxy would be a direct sequel to CSTW.
BoDXIII-2 & CSTW would probably be about as long as BoDVII each. Maybe a little longer.

Go here, http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=54592374#post54592374, you know what to do.

All Uncharted final boss fights are horrible.

Hehe, I know. Bend really nailed that Uncharted feeling down and stayed true to the series.
Although I have to say I liked the boss fight in UC1.

Hope to read some impressions soon. Have fun.

If I had to pick one 3 was the least painful haha.
