LEAVE CNN ALONE!!!

Certainly. I don't give them ratings.

Is anyone doing a better job than GAF (and I'm sure other forums)? Because last night I was trying all the cable-news channels with my wife and GAF was usually like 15-45m ahead of them on important developments. Guess the downside is you have to put up with tons of scanner false alarms but you get desensitized.
That reddit thread in /r/news is great.

I feel bad for everyone in Boston.

I grew up in the DC area during the time of the DC sniper. It was horrendous. A month of terror.

If they never find this guy there is no guarantee that he would not strike again somewhere after recruiting another partner. Not sure I would feel safe at all.
They put his picture out. He won't be able to get away for that long unless he can somehow make it to the woods and live there.

I was in DC too during the sniper attacks and that was terrifying. Mainly because of what they were targeting. People at gas stations, grocery stores, etc. places you had to go. The worst part was for the longest time they had zero leads.

Just wanted to also point out that the searching of houses probably falls within exigent circumstances.

I think at this point it might not really matter. I'm guessing the police will search a house if they feel they need to - regardless of the potential rights violations. Then they'll just take their lumps in court if someone wants to sue.

But it does look like they have a case to do the searches, anyway.

What are people really expecting from this press conference?

"We still haven't found him"

Thanks for the update guyz.

Just wanted to also point out that the searching of houses probably falls within exigent circumstances.
But can they apply that "a suspect will escape" to ALL homes within an entire community/neighborhood? Wouldn't a scope that wide basically make it an unlimited or unrestrained power?

It was Susan Candiotti who said this gem

Just went on wiki she also did the Sandy Hook thing.

December 14, 2012, approximately 2:15pm CNN's Susan Candiotti stood outside the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT and reported that the shooter in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting had been identified to her by a source as Ryan Lanza. She did not confirm or verify this information before the live broadcast. The name of the actual shooter was later revealed to be Adam Lanza, the younger brother of Ryan Lanza.

Simply seeing a suspect in your neighborhood is not reason enough to search all premises in said neighborhood.
But they aren't. And they don't need warrants for every house because not everyone is flatly denying permission. Either way, it's not our call to make. It's a judge's. If you want to argue you're being served an illegal warrant, then I suppose you'd have to sue the city of Boston or the federal government? Well, good luck I guess.

and sorry, this is my last post on this particular matter. i feel like it's a needlessly argumentative discussion for this thread. i'm not a judge in Boston, but i have confidence they are sorting through this with proper care to legality and constitutional rights. to assume otherwise just reaches even higher levels of paranoia.

CNN is like the best onion news network ever. me and the wife can't stop laughing. Wolf froze and it reminded me of the Simpsons when they freeze his interview on rock bottom.

I was up last night when they set up the perimeter around Watertown but I can't help but think they aren't even sure he was able to escape before the perimeter was formed.
