Didn't mean to imply more than one, but in this case it seems like the author's intent was to reference the Jonestown incident and not the acid test one.

He came here when he was 8 years old. When you live here since little, you assimilate into society really well. Not only that but took the time/money/effort to become a US citizen. To me, its interesting you say "his" country. I would consider him Chechan, more so than American. I doubt he considered himself American.
Similarly, that "Australian" cleric is likely Lebanese and not Australian.

Anyone got video of the Red Sox game today? The ceremony before?
Oh, I doubt he was forced with the threat of death, and I will be surprised if he uses that as an excuse. I imagine he was impressionable, and was influenced by his brother.. for him it may have been a power high, a chance to 'do something'. Im not saying he isn't responsible for his actions, because he is and was well aware of what he was doing. But the fact is, he doesn't seem like an extremist, he did not kill himself, he did not flee after the bombing, did not take credit. He seemed like a kid who thought he could get away with a horrible crime, and enjoyed the thought of that. This is all assumption, and I obviously know nothing, but as an outsider with limited knowledge looking in it is the vibe I get.
Such a pretty dog.
I thought your post was ignorantly offensive. It read as if women are objects to enjoyed if you move here, as if we're some privilege to be enjoyed. "He had a chance to date our women!"
Albrecht Ammon, 18, lived directly below the apartment of the two suspects. He said he recently saw Tamerlan in a pizzeria, where they argued about religion and U.S. foreign policy. He quoted Tsarnaev as saying that many U.S. wars are based on the Bible, which is used as "an excuse for invading other countries."
During the argument, Ammon said, Tsarnaev told him he had nothing against the American people, but he had something against the American government. "The Bible was a cheap copy of the Koran," Ammon quoted Tsarnaev as saying.
Still, The New York Times reported that a college transcript revealed that he was failing many of his college classes. In two semesters in 2012 and 2013, he got seven failing grades, including F's in Principles of Modern Chemistry, Intro American Politics, and Chemistry and the Environment.

There are a lot of great photos out there from this incident.

You are welcome to think anything you please. Just don't be accusing people of a banable offense just because you assume there's some misogyny behind it. However If it really offends you that much I'll edit the comment.

What? No
I'm starting to get a better feeling for what happen with those two brothers. It sounds like they were both failing. Older brother dropped out of community college and started getting paranoid conspiracy theories.
Younger brother got 7 failing grades:
Their uncle Ruslan may have hit the nail on the head . . . they were just losers that failed to settle and instead lashed out at everyone else.

I'll just remove that part altogether, it seems like it wasn't just one poster that got confused. I didn't mean no harm.I read it as blatantly sexist as well.

So just of couple of religious douchebags who couldn't accept people different than them so decide to just kill them. Also, lol @ the bible being a copy of Koran.
its was cool what he said lol but I'm wondering if they will fine him ....

That's ironic.

Double negative means he DID mean harm. Get him!!I'll just remove that part altogether, it seems like it wasn't just one poster that got confused. I didn't mean no harm.
so, i take it after the hospital he'll be getting mental help right?
so, i take it after the hospital he'll be getting mental help right?
This, albeit reworded a little, is the standard belief in Islam and the converse is the standard belief in Christianity. Islam, as an Abrahamic religion, follows the old testament. Jesus is the "seal of the prophets"--the second-most important prophet is Islam before Muhammed. The belief is that God revealed himself to Muhammed to perfect religion. It's not that they believe the "bible is a copy of the koran" it's that they believe that the Qur'an is a perfection of the Bible.
Likewise, Christians recognize the shared heritage that Islam has with Christianity, but view the teaches of the Qur'an as false; a corruption of that heritage.
That's status quo ante.
Specifically, they also believe that the New Testament that Christians follow is a corruption of the true revelations of Jesus, which they hold are contained the Qur'an.
He should, so he knows exactly what he did and the repercussions while he does his time in prison.so, i take it after the hospital he'll be getting mental help right?
Well not corrupted entirely, only corrupted when it involves rising from the dead, flying from heaven, you know the supernatural illogical stuff

whats this shit I hear about people that want to label him as an unlawful combatant?
Yeah, I'd go to the one at South Bay Center.Huh.. I was just about to walk out the door to go to the Target in Watertown when I realized that it's probably a friggin madhouse there right now.
i'm still interested to know what the suspects were doing on the MIT campus and what lead them to kill the campus police officer. what was the disturbance the officer was investigating? did it involve the two suspects?
Why did this kid party? Simple. These terrorist know damned well, and are instructed so to "blend in" as much as possible. It's not an indication that he wasn't totally absorbed by the faith and mission, it's an indication that he was trying his best to follow his instructions.
This is what I want to know too. They had a bunch of pipe bombs that they ended up throwing at police but that obviously wasn't their original plan. I think the cop was shot outside of the MIT Stata Center, which to me is a pretty iconic piece of architecture and the MIT campus. It's right on one of the main entryways into the campus, it was designed by Frank Gehry, and looks very striking. It's not historical at all, but I would consider it a landmark. Was their plan to bomb the Stata Center? Maybe. I'm sure all of the details will be fleshed out over time now that the manhunt is over and the authorities have switched into pure investigation mode.

these are two suspects that allegedly planted and detonated bombs in a crowd of civilians, some of which were children. it was also reported they carjacked a man and took him hostage - only to let him go 30 minutes later - and that they paid for gas in cash at a gas station. if they had no problem killing innocent civilians, why not just shoot the hostage or the teller at the gas station? why kill the police officer in a manner which i heard described on the news by a police official as an "assassination"?
also, who was the "dark-skinned white male wearing a cowboy hat" described on the police scanner as a suspect in robbing a 7/11?
He's surely capable of it.Has anyone discussed this?

Wouldn't be shocked to find out that the older brother was involved with this. Especially given his comments about not having any American friends because he didn't "understand" them.
