Complaining about local councils is commonplace, but Norwegian club Ny Krohnborg IL appear to have a slightly more legitimate gripe than the average heckler.

The Norwegian second divisioners have just returned from their winter break to discover that the council had built a new road on their home pitch.

Krohnborg chairman Radney Thomsen told reporters:

We were quite shocked when we discovered that the road cut [into the pitch]. The start of the season is just around the corner, but no-one had informed us. We feel simply run over.

Comically this is not the first time that the council had screwed over Ny Krohnborg IL, as three years ago the pitch was cut down in size after a new path was inserted into the far end of the playing surface.

The soccer club didn't find out about the plans for the road because the council had them on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leopard".
