Is it too crazy to think that the first 30 minutes will be about the console, OS and Kinect 2.0 and the rest of the time will be about games? they can have a live demo and announce 3-4 games (PGR5, Alan Wake 2 & Dark Souls 2 exclusive next gen version) via trailers that way.
I hope the online requirement and no used games rumors at least get an official response from MS, either in the event itself or in an interview afterwards...hopefully we'll have a clear answer about these.

It's interesting seeing how Xbox fans react to the same treatment they dished out to Sony fans for a large part of this gen? I guess it's also thanks in part to MS, they've let rumours fester and PS4, unless you are a fanboy idiot, looks amazingly strong in terms of hardware. If MS can do better, then great... if they can't then who cares... we still have PS4. As a community we can't lose at this point... unless you care about the colour of the logo on the box more than what the box does? In which case, bicker away!

I think so too. The teaser better show more than one exclusive to get the hardcore fans hyped. Hoping for at least one game from a series that hasn't been touched in a while...
I think overall it doesn't require much for most hardcore fans to be excited. If they can show a short glimpse of PGR5 (similar to Drive Club short teaser - literally 20 seconds), Alan Wake 2 with beast character models/environment and lighting, Nextbox's Master Chief model in 1080p, and maybe a glimpse of Black Tusk Studio's space shooter and most of us will be jumping around with joy.

There are some incredible stuff coming related Kinect. Future stuff. I mean the first Kinect that we have does some amazing stuff. Imagine Kinect 2. Am really looking forward to it now.

It will have a broad focus, just like the first MTV reveal of 360, they will not go into reams of detail on their strategy for the tech (primarily because they don't have the same system power)... this event will be all about celebrating the Xbox brand and its new found place as an entertainment (not just gaming) delivery device.
They will focus on the experiences the new system enables, why it changes the way you consume games and entertainment and demo integration with other devices.
Very few games will be revealed (why bother when the greatest games reveal event in the world will be a few days away?)
They will likely save launch date and price until E3.... save any thoughts of the bigger 'E3 event' type showman ship for E3. This isn't going to be like that.
It's going to be personal and candid - and about vision.
They will show the hardware and it is very unlikely they will mention used games or DRM.

That was Greenberg and I think he's wrong. Sony's event was to discuss the philosophy behind the new hardware, tease some games, announce some exclusive partnerships, and to detail some features. That was their goal and they succeeded in doing that. The PS4 event was a teaser. People keep on forgetting that Polyphony, Santa Monica, and Naughty Dog (among others) were nowhere to be seen. Not to mention that we haven't seen extended gameplay of any PS4 game or even the console itself. So as a teaser, which is what it was designed to be, it succeeded.
I bet it's called Xbox Vision.
(Not from your post, just that it would be a perfect fit, with the focus on Kinect 2.0 as well as using it to watch many different forms of entertainment on TV, not just games)

Well I for one am keeping an open mind until I see the announcement. If they so much as say the words "always online" though, that would be a complete non-starter and would pretty much guarantee my purchase of a PS4. As far as everything else though, I've been very happy with my 360 so I'm willing to see what they have to say.

This will always happen, because being surprised is more cognitively significant than getting what you expect. I know it's lame to bring up 'the other guys', but look at the amount of praise that Sony are getting for making a developer and consumer friendly box for the first time since PS1this stuff should be standard by now, Nintendo and Microsoft have been doing it for yearsbut because it's not what people expected, it's praised.

Sony is primarily being praised because GAF is a hardcore gaming community and Sony seems to be focused on games more than their competitors. This has especially been true the past two or three years. So they've got software momentum. The fact that the PS4 is easier to develop for considering the PS3 was a nightmare to develop for only aids those types of sentiments.

They've definitely at least considered it. Developers said that the dev kits are always online, but that could change. They didn't have to admit it--they were essentially told on.
