Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

So from what I'm reading, you purchased the Vita version on the PS3 store, downloaded it on to the PS3, then used content manager to move it to the Vita, and now when you check the DL list you cannot redownload right?

Yeah it seems like you should wait until you can try on Vita, go to the web store and try there, or call customer service.

If you have the DS ones play those, but if you want one to play get SotN and not Dracula X.

Well I guess based on recommendations and comments I am not missing anything having played most of the first two DS games (I dont think i finished them).

Will wait for a sale to give the psp versions a go. Maybe as part of the summer extravaganza?

Man, I wonder if it's possible to do PS2 emulation on Vita.

There's no guarantee of that, especially when outside studios are doing a lot of the ports.

well to be fair we do already have a couple of examples, devolver already announced hotline miami 2 will happen and they are trying to ensure day and date with the PC version.

Sidequest (Rainbow moon, and Soldner X) also already basically admitted that the sequel to rainbow moon will be on ps3(4), and Vita aswell and neither have actually released their first game on the vita yet.

there are a couple of others aswell who have confirmed Vita versions for sequels, it probably helps allot that the porting process seems to take very little time to accomplish.

edit* Nerdstick, they are doing it on PS3 currently with PS2 classics, though originally they had ps2 guts in the launch skus, I also remember hearing that the second iteration models were sofware emulation and thats why not all ps2 games worked on those skus, where as the launch models had full BC.

hmm.. so it's more of a software problem?
I would think that.. being able to code Vita to the metal would resolve the "lack of needed power"

Lots of CPU power needed. It can easily do ps2 graphics but emulation is more about CPU.
And the Cell has a major advantage there over the Vita.

dang :/ but oh well.. as long as they bring those classics over as a HD remake or something.. I'll be happy

Dark Cloud 2 HD come on
Okami HD (this needs to be on the Vita)

well, if the tweets from the playstation team are any indication the Vita should have a truck load of indie announcements at E3 seems like they keep hinting at more games being signed, the only real issue there is these are all digital only, and 32gb of space wont be enough soon(already for me).

Has anyone hereplayed the valhalla knights games for psp? I understand they were not great, but im curious what the issues were. Doing some research on 3 and I like some information already (heavy character customization, combat looks decent from the brief trailer, and Xseed seems to have faith in it) I never played the first two though, despite being interested in reading their somewhat openworld.

Amazon says only 13 hours left to preorder Soul Sacrifice and get release-day shipping using 2-day shipping.

Prime trial = free release day shipping :)

Updated roster Fifa 12 incoming.

Im thinking the reason they didn't announce this is because its getting a showing at E3. Even if its just in some shitty highlight reel of games to come which is what we'll probablys get for Vita at E3.

But you're right. It'll be just a roster update although the original still looked pretty awesome.

Started playing 'Thomas Was Alone' last night and it reminded my having indies on Vita is such good news. Only had time to play the first ten levels or so, but I'm really enjoying the experience.

Really good game, prefered the experience on my Vita compared to the PS3 due to the D pad. 100% in about 3 and half hours I think, I was tempted to pick up the DLC but no trophies :(

Imo the fifa games disparity between vita and home consoles is desired, look at lego and batman games, maybe some western developers can't stand(or most probably is not financially better) a portable game on par with a home console game.

The Lego games are two different versions. The home versions are specifically designed for co-op, so a straight port (with the shitty AI) wouldn't work on Vita. I will admit though that I wish the 3DS/Vita versions were better than they are.

SCEE people can download the full game right now and have it activate on release day. The only thing they'd have to download are the pre-order bonus DLCs on release.
Am I the only one that has the game pre-ordered in the EU that can't preload? It hasn't completed the payment process yet (it shows as purchased on the store, but hasn't taken the money from my wallet (I have over £50 in there)) so it won't let me download. :(

When did it specify the money would be taken? Check your receipt email if you keep them

Lego is split into two build

NDS/3DS/PSV one and PS3/X360/PC

sucks we are in the first one.

Alright, I finally bought Lumines: Electronic Symphony yesterday. Loved it in PSP - one of the best games ever. I'll probably love it again. :)

Next will be Virtue's Last Reward.

...did you just completely ignore what I said? It's not just two 'builds', it's two separate games, specifically designed for different numbers of players. What you want is the Vita to have it's separate 'build' as you call them, that uses the PS3 engine, but has the single-player game design from the portable version. That's not gonna happen.

So I played some Sound Shapes before going to bed last night, and I gotta say... I might end up playing this more than Dokuro. Felt like such a simple yet elegant side scroller with a zen-like experience. At least for me. Could definitely use some winding down right now and that seems like the perfect fit.

Don't you have PS+ or do you not have an EU account? VLR is one of aprils "free" games.

It's not like you can't play the console version in singleplayer just fine. The AI may be shitty but you can always switch between the characters. I don't see the problem. Actually playing co-op with the bad camera is worse, even with the new splitscreen from Lego Batman 2.
I often play the Lego games with my nephew or let him play by himself. He doesn't seem to have any problems at all.

Yep, it's really good. Simple but brilliant. Definitely the kind of game i want to see more of on my Vita and i'm glad there are people like Shahid Kamal working on making that happen :)

I didn't see that, thanks!

Looks like I should be good to go from tomorrow onwards, says the expected charge date is 27/4 @ 12:00 AM.

No problemo. Let us know how you get on

I don't like PS+. It's like renting games, not free games at all. As I don't plan having a subscription.

Add another voice to the "Thomas Was Alone is great" crowd. Knew next to nothing about it going in but I'm really enjoying it. Will finish it then pick up the DLC.

This is a scary admission for me to make, but I'm enjoying the Vita so much right now that it's entirely feasible for me NOT to day one the PS4. Nothing to do with the console itself (which looks amazing), but I get so little time with the PS3 at the moment it seems pointless.
