Man. Where WDIDTDTDTDML 1 fails in motivating the player, these 2 follow up games start getting "gamey". They added some other elements that made it even more strategic (like under water creatures, more heroes, more hero abilities etc.) and one notable change is that your monsters now effectively change depending on how they are dying. If your monsters die from starvation, their "race" will adapt and get slightly different stats than when they die from being defeated by heroes for example. That is a really neat mechanic. Other improvements include a Badman room mode that allows to play around without time pressure and a proper "story mode" where you have challenges on a world map, which his definitely gives a better feeling of accomplishment than just a single row of challenges. The first game is definitely still worth it, but most players are probably fine with just buying No Heroes Allowed, since it has more content and is just the overall better balanced game. It even includes lower difficulty settings, which is very welcoming for new players. Other small improvements should be mentioned here too, like finally being able to see which monsters carry nutrients and a screenshot mode (!!!) (you know, the thing the Vita cant do on PSP games)
