Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

getting my 10$ rebate this week...SOMETHING will be bought. I don't know what, but something.

I can't buy memory cards with PSN money can I?

I know I can't -_-'

buy soul sacrifice or new little kings story.

Getting the PS Vita MGS Collection... at that price,I can't miss it! Will officially be my first time playing both games, too.

Just FYI, the collection requires a lot of storage space. If you don't have a large memory card and you can afford the difference, get the two games separately instead.

Got a 32 GB card; also got the 16 GB I used before I got the 32, so I 'm set. Just have to get off my ass and see if I'll have any problems with memory card switching.

EDIT: Online is still unavailable in Guilty Gear PS Vita, right? Cause the ad on the PS Store says Network Mode is available in the first sentence!

Man I wish I had a 32gb card. I'm so tired of continually deleting games off my two 16gb cards to make way for new stuff. I need more storage but there's no way I'm going to spend $100 on a 32GB card (heck I wouldn't even spend more than $50).

Fellow Vitamuppets, I need your advice!
I've preordered a physical copy of Soul Sacrifice, but I'm starting to wonder if I've made the right decision or if I should go digital instead. On the one hand, SS feels like the kind of game you'd want to take whereever you take your Vita for a long time, so it'd be a good choice for digital.
On the other hand, I've only got a 16GB memory card and memory card space is - as you all know - a precious commodity. I would need to start doing some serious fridge cleansing to get SS to fit. Plus, as a minor consideration, I quite like collecting video game boxes, even if they are very bare internally like the Vita ones. The fact that I'd get SS as soon as the store updates if I go digital whereas I'd have to wait for a while if I don't cancel my physical preorder (I'm in Sweden and preordered from Amazon UK) is of no importance, as I've still got ~10 hours left to go in P4G which will keep me busy until my copy of SS arrives.
How did you guys weigh the pros and cons of physical vs digital in the SS case?

Soul Sacrifice seems like the type of game that I'll play nonstop, then once I hit the end I'll never touch it again. Therefore, I went for the physical copy. For racing/fighting/sports/puzzle games I've been going DD. For single player type experiences I buy physical.

I ideally you want one cart only to keep in your vita, and have the rest on the memory card. I rarely touch more than 1 or 2 games on my 32GB card so I think it's a comfort people just have from having everything with them at all times.

When PSO2 came out, I hadn't touched my US account in 1.5 months, which meant I never switched back to that 32 GB card with everything on it :/

How does memory card switching work since FW 2.10? I want to spread out my games some more, plus there are some PSP and PS1 games that I want to play. I got about 6 gigs free on my 32.

It seems to mostly keep the place of the icons (not perfectly, though). However, it still does the long loading thing when you boot up the Vita after switching cards, which is kind of annoying.

As somebody who is also always pressed for space on my memory cards and likes having the retail boxes, I went physical. I mean, I would like to always have it there on the system, but for me the pros of physical in this instance outweigh the cons.

Oh hey I want to share an awesome experience I had today.

I started off by playing Sound Shapes to finish it -- "Touch The People" was absolutely awesome, I probably looked like an overgrown child playing that on the Tube.

Then, I loaded up Thomas Was Alone and got to the point where
the second female]
was introduced. I was SO hooked to the narration that I ended up missing my stop, got up to head back, ended up on the wrong platform, then had to return and change again. I basically lost an hour on the tube which felt like just 10 minutes.

There was nothing to do at Uni anyway. =)

So far Thomas Was Alone wins the award for having the most engaging story on my Vita (and I have P4G, MGSHD and VLS installed).

Haha, nice! I agree, Thomas Was Alone is great and has a surprisingly deep and engaging narrative.

I got a 32gb card. It got filled up FAST. Either compress your fucking games or sell a 64gb card, Sony. ;p

Thanks, I'm tempted. How do you rate it against snake eater/ mgs2 ? I only played snake eater last year and it became one of my all times favorite.

MGS3 is in my top 3 all time games.

MGS3
MPGS: PW
MGS2

Is how I'd rank em. I think PW looks great for a PSP game. It's also more suited for the Vita than the other two. I think my favorite part of PW is the post game content. I put more time into doing the extra missions than the main campaign. It's a shame there isn't an HD version for the Vita. I'd love to play some co-op online.

Yea. Honestly we need a 128gb card. This is the 21st Century. I'm going out of my way to buy physical games primarily because I don't want more space taken up.

Now I would spend $100 on a 128GB card immediately. Heck, I would possibly even spend $100 on a 64GB card.

It's just so annoying. You can buy a GREAT 64gb microSD card for $50, and Sony sells their card with half the capacity for twice the price. It's even worse that they have a far larger digital ecosystem than Nintendo, requiring more space, while Nintendo lets you have all the space you want for hardly any money at all. That's by far my least favorite thing about the Vita.

I dont understand, I want to purchase all the nice psn plus deals but Sony dont have a meaty card, its pretty pathetic.

Makes no sense.

I'd fork over $100 easy for a bigger card.

Good stuff. I'm getting both 2 and PW then. I have not played MGS2 since launch and I am pretty sure it will be like a brand new game to me.

Holy cow. After feeling like a sucker for paying a gamefly sub for vita games for a couple of months (one month promo/one month full price, forgot to cancel in time) it now looks like it will pay off.

I got an email with the following title just now:

We've Shipped: Soul Sacrifice

I use the same logic. If it's a game with "unlimited" replay value, ie. a music game, a fighting game, or a game with user-generated content, I buy digital so I can permanently keep it on my system at all times. If it's a game I know I will never touch again after having "beaten" it, I buy retail so it won't waste valuable space on my tiny little 32GB card.

Only exception is imports, where it's always preferable to buy retail so I can play it on my regular PSN account.

The thing is, I don't think SS seems like the kind of game you can "beat" in the traditional sense. Sure, there's a single player campaign, but so much of the game seems to be about replaying missions for better scores so you can upgrade your spells and do even better. Plus multiplayer for infinite fun.

I reverted my progress so my GF could catch-up. She's struggling through the game currently on 3.10 (past where I got) but all in all absolutely loves it. I've never seen her so interested in a game before.

The rectangles have such great personality that she cares about each of their names and personality so well, we can strike up conversations about them. #getgftoplaygamessuccess

This should be on smartphones, basically. I'm gald it was free otherwise I would have missed it entirely.

EDIT: She just got mind-fucked by a bug... as did I.

Your attempts at dissuasion have only made me want it more! I'm genuinely curious, in what way is the localization "the worst possible"?

It's a super niche anime girl fishing game, where they not only did forced dubs (no JPN VA option), but gave the VA roles to what sound like 30 year old women. Unless it's trying to cater to the 'Anime girl with MILF voice' fetish. And while I can't confirm it myself, I've read that they might have taken all of the voice acting out of the Story mode (as they didn't bother to dub that)..but they left the unskippable pauses for when you'd be waiting for them to finish speaking. It's a niche game, where they betray the niche. Unbelievable.

Beyond that the game itself is terrible. It feels like a game for Mobile phones..because it is. It uses touch controls, bad touch controls for fishing. The gameplay consists of pulling left or right with constant QTE spam. The game itself is hideously ugly graphically, yet runs like -crap-. It's horribly unoptimized, varying completely in speed depending on what stage you're in. One stage runs really smooth, the next stage runs at, and I kid you not, less than half speed the entire time.

If you're genuinely interested in the game, either for the anime or for the possible 'so bad it's good' factor, consider importing it. It seems import friendly, you get more content that the localization ripped out, bearable voices (I assume), and a physical copy you can sell once you realize how crap it is. I wish I could sell my digital copy :/

Or to summarize, it's the most blatant unfinished unoptimized POS 'slap anime on it' cash-grab, with the absolute worst localization possible.

As an added slap to the face, I have a trophy that appears to be bugged and un-winnable, which is why I haven't played it since release day.

Does it even have a platinum?

Yes, since it was a retail release originally.

Not that you'd want to suffer through it. It fittingly has an abysmal 4% obtain rating on PSNProfiles..

the sale is awesome... quite a few games I would love to get.. but it would probably get PS+ed or another sale by the time I get round to them

*must resist*

case-in-point - I bought MGS HD Vita during the last sale (in Nov/Dec 2012?) and I am not even done with it and it's on sale now for lower

Does Anybody know a good way to get the trophy 'Mix Master' in NFS:Most Wanted? It's the last trophy I need to get before I get platinum. Is there anybody willing to help me get it?

My PSN ID is oldyella if you're interested.

Yeah, I think I'm going to restick my purchase to LBP:V. But I am tempted by MGS HD...

PSASBR is an easy recommendation (mostly if you enjoy online multiplayer) and to the person that asked, Kat is awsome yes (but paid for now).

LBPV and MGS are also awesome.

Yeah the deal says it's FIFA Football but the guy in the thread claims his code was for 13

You're right, thanks for the update! Replaced my order.

Does anyone have an opinion on what the best Gravity Rush DLC is?
How can you say no to the Spy costume?
