Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

I love how on IGN they title an article " soul sacrifice is confusing" and then go on to say in the article that it's confusing because of how deep the customization is...... and yet their review says the game is repetitive. I don't get ign. really try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they fail me everytime.

Low scores, ss is not a system seller, ss is confusing... It seems like they want people to think that it's a bad game. Am i the only one seeing some sort of spite or boycott in all of this?

Nope.

Edit, Difficulty beginner ? Does it scale up as you play

no ;_; you pick a difficulty at the beginning (i went with Beginner because i had no fucking idea wtf was happening) but i can'd find an option to change it (although i could just be thick)

FUCK Y'ALL FOR SHITTING ON ME FOR BEING A BEGINNER, I DON'T LIKE YOU GUYS ANYMORE :p

The real summer? Or SCEA's version of "summer"?

*coughwakeupclubcough*

If it's Sony, summer can mean Labor Day. If it's a third party dev, I trust them to put it out before then, especially during the summer dry spell.

What a game! I knew this game was going to be great the moment I heard the soundtrack, this one to be exact:

It's so peaceful! Every time I started listening this music my head would start swinging and it put a smile on my head.

This reminds me of how much I loved Gravity Rush. I really need to go back and platinum that game, I think I've decided to work on it as my next platinum. I really want to just get %100 just in case there's a sequel, so I can just jump in. I absolutely adore that game.

Probably only buying hotline miami this month but I have such a damn vita backlog now if you count all the psp games I never played that I got for cheap like the gta/god of war games.

I hear you - my backlog is slowly burying me and I just bought Sly Cooper 4 and Guacamelee as well. I really need to keep working on just beating games, getting more platinums.

Just hit 7 hours in Farming Simulator.

Jelly?

I REALLY wish that came to the states at the same time, I would've bought it yesterday :\ I guess it's too hard to port over a game already in English...

This Shahid guy should be running over the guys that created "Where is my heart?" to make a native Vita version.

And all the good Minis games, btw.

Could always just ask him on Twitter. ;)

Also, teaser for Guacamelee DLC posted by Drinkbox on Twitter:

I just read that GTA1&2 have been age rated for Ps3 and Vita.
http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/01/gta-1-2-age-rated-for-ps3-ps-vita/
and I wondered if that'll be Rockstars only effort on the Vita.

I remember some rumors about rockstar working on vita games. Especially this tweet:
https://twitter.com/jimreilly/status/77926291323621377

I was hoping for a GTA San Andreas Stories. It could've connected GTA SanAndreas and GTA V.
Would be a bummer if the ports of GTA1&2 were the only vita projects rockstar had going.

no please. keep QWOP etc off vita.

Don't worry. They can't call it QWOP on Vita anyway.

Check the date on the tweet. I wouldn't hold out much hope. :/

My dream is for Rockstar to release GTA San Andreas HD and a Red Dead sequel on Vita. I can dream. :(

Rockstar's Vita projects have probably been canceled unless Sony's paying. The age ratings you mentioned will be for a PSone Classics release.

So the dude behind such hits as QWOP, GIRP and CLOP tweeted Shahid about working on a PlayStation project and wanting a Vita sent to him: https://twitter.com/shahidkamal/status/329730501722128385
Isn't he one of the Sportsfriends dudes? Super Pole Riders was his title I think. Maybe he's inspired by Divekick's local multiplayer and intends to try to do a port?

I'm pretty sure these are just PSOne Classics releases. Sony does most of the work, only effort on Rockstar's behalf would be having their lawyers clear the titles for digital distribution.

I just noticed this post, but yeah I totally agree. I love IGN's Playstation team, listen to beyond every week, but man sometimes it really makes me wonder when it comes to how little they seem to care about the Vita nowadays :\ They'll joke about blowing the dust off their Vitas, but sometimes I wonder if they're telling the truth? :(

Hello fellow GAFfers! I am a new VitaBro round these parts, but I am definitely not new to the Vita. My name is Brian, and my PSN is BaronVonBeans. I live in NA, in the eastern time zone. I've been lurking in the shadows for these boards, but just been given junior membership! Nice to meet you all! Now, on to business....

Picked up 3G Vita at launch, with Uncharted, Hot Shots Golf World Invitational (Everybody's Golf 6 ) Wipeout, and UMvC3. Since then I have picked up MK, Gravity Rush (amazing Vita App, plat'd), Shinobido (40+ hrs, great modern "Tenchu"), Little Big Planet, Unit 13 (plat'd), PS All Stars, P4G, Metal Gear HD Collection, a few more full titles who's names escape me ATM, and several PSN games as well. Also have PS Plus, a 32gb card (couldn't resist, saw it for 35% off), the Sony Vita portable charger/battery pack, screen guarded by Hori's screen protector, and it all fits in the Pull 'n Go Folio case from PDP, which is a great case for the Vita owner on the go. To quickly summarize, I *LOVE* my Vita.

Just recently picked up Guacamelee, but it is currently starving for attention due to my other recent acquisition of Soul Sacrifice....

Muamasa and Dragon's Crown are the next titles on my radar for Vita. Thanks to Plus, I have more games than I will probably ever play. Alllll thanks to the magic of Soul Sacrifice....

Very nice collection you have there. Welcome!

What the hell man. You have too many games, now I don't know what to recommend besides VT4! =/

All jokes aside (except VT4, get it) welcome new Vitabro. Enjoy your stay and props on the Gravity Rush mention. We're starting a movement!

Oh, and if you want to get in some games in LBP Vita, don't hesistate to PM me. Just got the game this Tuesday and I'm loving it.

Damn my 16gb memory card is already full ;_; ...if I want to change it to a 32gb how do I do to copy my save games?

You can use the Content Manager to do a full backup to a PC or a PS3 (I think). It just takes a really long time, but when you restore it on the new card, everything is there.

mmmmmm....that new thread smell. Nothing like it.

Just wish I had more time to play games now. Been way too busy with work this past month. One positive is that the several business trips that I have coming up will be a great time to give the Vita (and my backlog) the attention they deserve.

Kind of looking forward to Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery and I don't even know much about it but like the art style.

I prefer just copying the games over instead of doing a full backup. that way, I can backup my saves for individual games I'm working on.

May Update:

Today I finally finished another game on my Vita, Gravity Rush.

At first, I had some trouble getting used to the gravity itself but then I got better, the difficulty was just in the sweet spot for me because this was my Vita-go-to when I wanted to relax after a long day.

The way the Story is told is very nice too, I love how it's like reading a Comic Book, the dialogue was fun too with some simple jokes.

The best part? I had no idea what to expect about this game when I started, in the modern days I think that you have too much information regarding games (specially here, on GAF) and sometimes it feels that the "sparkle" of surprise may be gone with that. Not knowing much about this game even made the experience better.

If there's any fellow GAFfer considering getting a PS Vita or this game, please go ahead and give yourself a nice gift. It's a different game indeed and it was such a welcome and fresh experience!

This spirited post sums up well why Gravity Rush is as great as it is, right down to the pick of track from the OST. Good stuff.

Well just purchased a vita on amazon the 3g verison for 249 a 32 gig mem card and pre-ordered Dragons Crown and Muramasa Rebirth Blessing of Amitabha Edition. I will probably get Soul Sacrifice when the vita arrives on Monday.
