Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I don't see how the absence of evil pardons the evil he's done. Joffrey is still the deplorable little shit he's always been. The season just hasn't put the focus entirely on him, at least not yet, but instead those around him (particularly the Tyrells).

By the way, are the Unsullied eunuchs? I could swear I heard that one former slave girl say last episode: "The unsullied are given a new name after they're cut"

I'm glad we haven't had to sit through any more scenes of Joffery being cruel or torturing people. I don't enjoy those. I keep hoping he will die. It sucks to have gone through 1.5 seasons without any comeuppance.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure even the slaver said something along the lines of, "stupid bitch doesn't even know we chop their balls off" when the interpreter told him dani was not pleased with their treatment (right after he scored a nipple off one).

Fucking hated that shot. I have no beef with Lena Headey and like her as Cersei, but the whole "pout, eyebrow raise" shit is overdone and not always relevant. The beauty of that scene was her regular smug look being bitch slapped away by daddy. Her breakdown right before that shot was awesome. But for whatever reason they had to cut in a shot of her doing that look again.

Seemed totally contextually irrelevant and out of place to me given what had just happened. Tyrion sat there looking broken, and so should have she.

Yeah, seemed totally off to me to. It's like she just spotted Tommen pooping on the Iron Throne and is about to tell him off or something.

It's highly pejorative in Westeros, of course, but "Kingslayer" has quite the badass ring to it.

It's certainly sexier than Rothfuss' far less poetic "Kingkiller." :p

I think even in Westeros it would normally be considered badass. Provided you're not part fo the king's guard, that is.

I imagine it must be be quite exciting to squeeze your finger here and watch something die over there.

Could you do it? Could you... kill.. something?

I don't know your grace, do you think I could?

Would you like to watch me?

Hoping something actually comes of this. We all are assuming Margaery is manipulating Joffrey, but in order for her to fly under the radar as it were, she might have to perform distasteful acts.

God, I hope so.

You don't really mean that. Not really. Everyone says they hope Joffrey dies, and he probably will at some point. But when or if that happens, the show will be a bit less interesting without him. It's fun to hate the bad guy, but when the bad guy leaves, some fun leaves with him.

she strikes me as someone with no personal morality whatsoever, basically the exact opposite of the Starks. She would do just about anything to get a little further ahead.

I wouldn't say that, I think her morality is a bit more nuanced than the one dimensional Neds and Joffreys.

I was just rewatching the scene when Roose is trolling Jaime about the fate of Cersei and the guy in the background (the one on the left) looks like Dagmer.

I put that on being most of them very young. IIRC those Unsullied had yet to be "bleed".

But again, there's nothing wrong with their bodies. Those are light infantry soldiers, they fight with spears and short swords and they carry very light armour that only protects against slashes. They are meant to be fast and nimble instead of hulking and powerful.

Reconnaissance troops from modern armies like the French legionnaires have similar bodies.

Those are mean and lean killing machines, trained to harash stronger enemies and endure grueling marches on foot.

From the show. The first thing the slave master says is that they have been standing there all day without food or water. I assume that's a typical routine for them.

It doesn't mean it is like that most of the time for them. You are also taking the Slave Master for his word, a guy who is trying to sell them, so of course he'll make them sound better.

I'm just assuming here, but they're a slave army, I doubt they're getting great food or supplies, given the fact at how poorly they're treated. Especially since he has no real incentive to feed them anymore than he needs to. But it's all very much speculation.

Think it's just people comparing light infantry to mounted knights. We haven't really seen much of the light infantry in Westeros. The brotherhood and the group that captured Brienne and Jaime are the only ones we've spent any time with, and they are not exactly physical specimens.

Even among the knights, only the Cleganes are extraordinarily large and muscular.

If you go back to real medieval history, basically only noble lords and royalty ever got enough food to grow large and muscular, and even most of them were smaller than modern day people who have basically unlimited food. Going through a couple years of drought and famine while you are growing up will limit on how big you can grow.

I'm expecting some scene where she shoots some bunny while Joffrey sits in the corner and jerks off

He's interesting but after he saved Sansa and ran away from the Battle at Blackwater I have no idea what his motivations are anymore

I think he lost his motivation, said fuck it and is just wandering and getting drunk.
Before, I think he motivation was just love of killing. I think there may be some hatred of how he was treated and scarred as a child and he has sympathy for Sansa but that's it.

I loved this episode. It had so many delicious bits. Juicy delicious bits of orangey goodness.

My favourite might have been Tywin laying the smackdown on both his kids; I'm so looking forward to him going spare when Castalely Rock is taken. Or Rob doing a Ned an just fucking himself.

And yey at Jon finally getting some in a show where everyone gets some. It looks like Bianca has fallen for Ricky err Jon pretty hard.

And damn if I'm not feeling sorry for Jamie. I almost nearly like the guy now.

I don't think that the Masters are keeping their prized, top-of-the-line, trained from childhood, fearless warrior slaves underfed on purpose. They'd be damaging the merchandise.

IMO that was just to demonstrate their toughness - how they could still stand in formation like they'd just arrived even though they'd been standing there since dawn.

So is it safe to say that Tywin may only show "respect" to Jaime? He can't shit on all his kids right?

Although I'm sure if Jaime does get brought back with his lack of hand I'm sure he won't give a fuck about him anymore.

I think Tywin isn't going to give a shit about Jaime when he finds out about the hand. Jaime will be treated just like Cersei and Tyrion I think.

Yeah I'm wondering that he'll probably be a changed man. He did admit to telling the Mad King not to trust the Lannisters. So he is not completely loyal to the family.

You don't need a hand to be the Lord of Casterly Rock, or to put babies in womens bellies to continue the Lannister line. Tywin wants Jaime as his heir, which is why he blew up on Tyrion so much as he asked for the lordship of Casterly Rock as his reward for defending the city.

Jaime's only real legacy is his swordsmanship.

Let's be honest, what else is he good at?

Well, I'm wondering whether or not his reputation alone might be a boon or disadvantage.
Sure, he's the king slayer and oath breaker, but he's also the slayer of the mad king, and relatively handsome (along with being the first born of one of the most prestigious houses).

I'm sure he could be married off to an important princess or queen, so as to increase the influence and power of Lannister House.
