I disagree wholeheartedly.
Then why are you even a consumer of electronic goods when they depreciate so quickly? Why even buy consoles at all when there's so much in-built markup in all things sold for them? Reality being what it is, people don't all fall into the hole because of a $40 surcharge when they're getting a $500 device at $300 upfront. Some of you guys want to make this some sort of referendum on consumer spending habits and the current systemic failure and wider irresponsibility that comes from our leaders and constituents. Why? It has zip to do with the topic and is misguided. Stop pretending to be everyone's financial advisor. Buying things isn't all about the numbers since the whole reason we buy them is rooted in something real and personal, not some kind of math problem where we discuss bad investments or good ones. 21st century life, how does it work? Seriously, we buy things to enjoy and be entertained by them, to please those we love, and sometimes simply because we can. Let's stop being crazy and acting as if everyone coming across this isn't smart enough to be left to their own judgment. Next-gen consoles at launch aren't aimed at poor people.
