Harry is going to be highly regarded by CGC, my friend. He'll end up ahead of Pete.

Harry doesn't mess around.

I'm really interested to see how this impacts Harry.

Presumably CGC also had a TV guy.

From a random blog.

I think there's a third scenario. There is no new model, Chevy constructed this exercise to find a new agency.

It's probably the Vega, and who's to say that it's too early to be hiring an agency? Also, from what I understand of Detroit and the Big Three, capricious and sudden decisions are quite common. They might have been agency-shopping on some internal deadline and decided to hash things up for unknown reasons.

I googled the model number like I'm sure most of us did and got the Vega as well.

Doesn't really seem like the type of car that'll set the world on fire, hell I didn't even know about it until I googled it.

Me too! This merger is going to be great to watch.

I think Harry is going to get fucked badly.

He had zero shot at getting partner before. Now he has roughly a -10% chance shot at getting partner.

And he's probably going to be thrown into a competition with CGC's TV guy(s) for control, and he doesn't even have his own colleagues on his side because they all hate him.

I assume im the only one that thought of Duck when i saw the poor cancer guy(resemblance). Awesome episode. Will need to rewatch as i missed a few parts here and there.

I've been under the impression that CGC is not quite as big as SCDP. Based on hiring Peggy (to an apparently vacant role) and the fact that SDCP has grown so much in the last year. But they did have Alfa Romeo, too, and were willing to ditch it to pitch Chevy.

I'm not sure about their size, but I get the impression that they're a lot more stable than SCDP.

He just showed up this season like he had been there the whole time. He keeps getting screen time so I assume some type of "master plan" is going to happen with him.

I think it's a better story if Harry excels with the merger. Cooper's been too smug this season.

Well, as far as I can tell, they've never been in a position where losing one single account could tank their business.

They were in a position where doing a commercial on spec could relaly hurt them.

And I don't think SCDP has been in jeopardy from a silngle client loss since Lucky left. Even this recent business with Jaguar and Vick's is about how it tanks their ability to cash in, not their ability to operate.

Otherwise, the conversation with Don about losing Jaguar would be much, much more gloomy.

Fair enough. Dude with cancer aside, it's hard to imagine the partners at CGC being as dysfunctional as the ones at SCDP. But I could be wrong.

Wow, amazing stuff went down in this episode. Pete against his father in law was good to see. The merger was totally unexpected (to me) but makes sense. And Roger was on his A-game with Chevy, good to see him doing business again. Great episode overall.

Bob's the one who's going down the elevator shaft. He's been established as the guy who no one seems to like, yet has had more screen time than Stan, Ken and Harry combined. They'll then cut to Don and he'll go "who?".

Pete was really in a no-win situation.

If he stayed quiet about it, he still loses Vicks, MIGHT get Trudy back. He went for the blaze of glory, but it looks like Trudy loves her dad and can't imagine him with the largest black prostitute Pete has ever seen in his life.

SCCC

Sterling Cooper Cuttler Chaough

Top two suriving names from each agency. Plus, Peggy is naming, so she gets to stick it to Don and promote her new lovey at the same time.

I do not think this is what will actually happen. Dying to know, though.

I would imagine they'll abandon the idea of surnames/acronyms entirely.

Did Don give Peggy permission to come up with a name when writing the news release? Or did he mean that she needed to write the release without listing a name for the new agency?

Such an amazing episode, wish we got to see the presentation of Don and Ted though. :(

Also when Megan said "and then you can jump off the balcony and fly to work...like superman" I got the chills.

EDIT: love this gif:

Pretty sure he tasked her with writing the name as well. He said "we don't have a name..." and then told her to name it something she would want to work at.

Jackben

bitch I'm taking calls.
Creepy coffee dude is hilarious. He needs to come in after an extremely emotional scene and just tap on the glass like "anyone want a coffee?"

Peggy knows better than to step on the shoes of the man who is largely in part responsible for getting her to where she wants to be.

She knows more than anyone else that Don is the boss you need to please.

He said to "make it sound like" a place she would want to work at, which I took to mean to describe the agency in the press release as a great place, not to actually name it herself.
