Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

I highly doubt it will happen specially with last Capcom news.

It's sad I would love to play SF:AE in my Vita.

It makes no sense, they release some shit like SF X Tekken and i understand the poor results but how much do they lose and how much can they gain if it was offered as a digital title?

Isn't it a win-win situation to offer it a download only???

I know a lot of people would trade UMC and SF X Tekken for SF4AE any day.

There's already a SF4 on 3DS. Capcom probably never had any plans to bring it to Vita as well.

3DS? have you played that piece of shit? There is no way they would even compare

Look at X tekken and UMC, They look pretty damn good.

This is Capcom we're talking about, the same fucking assholes who doomed the Vita to a lackluster existence by refusing to release any Monster Hunter for it, even though the Vita is clearly better suited for it than the 3DS (no dual analog). Betraying the Vita is business as usual for them. The fact that they even bothered to port 2 out of 3 of their major fighting game franchises is surprising by itself.

I haven't been keeping up with the platformer scene on PSP or Vita particularly well, are there any good ones in the vein of Mario?
I've got Guacamelee, Dokuro and Sound Shapes, they're all amazing games in their own right, but not really what I'm looking for. Any tips?

little big planet vita is the acclaimed to be the best version to date.

life of pixel is a PSM platformer.

mutant blobs attack is a platformer though prolly not as mario-like as you want.

rayman origins?

LBP or rayman are prolly the closest you're going to get to mario.

(1) I love your username and the matching avatar.
(2) There's development costs in porting the game to the Vita platform. Capcom probably doesn't expect to recoup the costs to program/test/etc. a port of the game for a platform where sales of its titles have not turned a profit. Hell, most of Capcom, even beyond Vita ports, was in trouble this year... but when you make decisions like those surrounding DmC, it isn't really surprising.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Rayman Origins is the best 2D platformer that I've played since Super Mario World and ranks up there for me in the top 3 with Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. 3.

I'd say Rayman is the closest to a Mario title, although it's really better IMO. Of course, that's not exclusive to Vita so he may already have it. I can't really think of many else that are like 2D Mario games.

Oh right I forgot about Rayman, I actually have that lol. Life of Pixel doesn't seem to be available here, unless the PSN search function is shit. Will consider LBP though.

Finish P3P first, then play some other game before you get into P4G. Stopping RPGs is never a good idea. You forget what happens in the game, and sort of lose motivation to play it when (if) you try to come back to it.

Noted. I'll see if I start it again tonight. My craving for Persona came yesterday when I was playing Strange Journey on the DS.

Nice, thanks. Any other recommendations?

Klipsch image s4, noise isolating and perfect sound, they also have oval rubber ear buds which sit in the ear so much more comfortable than any other pair of in ear headphones I have owned. I can't recommend the klipsch image s4 enough, I also tried those Sony s and returned them. KLIPSCH IMAGE S4. Are we clear?

Hello fellow GAFfers.

I'm terrible at that Mutant blobs game from Drinkstudios. I want to finish it before starting others!

No offense, but the price difference is big and having used them, not worth it. But that's my opinion and whatever.

You forgot to mention RE:Revelations, They left the Vita out in the cold

Motherfuckers

Thanks and i mention it because SF4 is in a different category and has made capcom money and it will sell better than those 2 games combined.

I'm bad at those levels where you have to balance your vita, too many traps, I don't know why but these types of games are the most difficult for me for some unknown reason.

Oh yeah those levels are silly, i never really did those >.<

I was just about to post this, but they also finally emailed me this:

So there you go, it's official - SCEA makes it deliberately harder for devs to put stuff on the American PSN.

lol no.

I guess you guys don't enjoy hopping on the SCEA hate train ;( It wasn't too long ago the store was delayed a whole day and everyone had their torches and pitchforks out. I JUST WANT THE GAME OK :((

oh.

So when Fred at the EU PS Blog says there are 'intriguing game announcements next week', I'm expecting more indies on Vita. This is mostly me reading into the word 'intriguing', though, haha.

Shahid tweeted that there's a lot of good stuff coming in May, but he may have been referring to the releases of Hotline Miami and Velocity Ultra (is there more expected already?)

A-ha, so I am not the only one. :p

One a side note I was checking my Download list on the Vita and saw that I have lot's of Minis and some decent PS One games and others bad PS One game from plus, even a PSP game which was the only PSP EU PS Plus gave it recent times.

I'm thinking there might be some vita stuff too, seems like a good time for more holiday games

Capcom is not a charity, they have no obligation to support the Vita. While I too would like to see some more capcom Vita releases there are obvious reasons why they chose the 3DS and, while I know you aren't doing this, the amount of port begging is just becoming annoying at this point.

Speaking of Capcom, The only way we're going to get a MH game on Vita now is if Sony moneyhats it, IMO, and that's not happening any time soon considering they really don't have money to spend on silly stuff like that, you know, system sellers.

Indies and various other niche games are great and all but we all know there are certain franchises that make people foam at the mouth and soil their pants and they're usually either MH or Pokemon, and we can only get one of those on Vita :\

This kind of reminds me of how Squeenix went multiplat (again) with FF XIII but then subsequently released stuff exclusively on 3DS or 360, and so on. It just seems like the day and age of third party exclusives is over, and yet it still happens with key franchises or IPs (system sellers).

To be honest other than Japan (which is a massive market I know) monster hunter doesn't matter for vita.

People in the west are going to suddenly but the platform in masses just because of a MH game

But... but... I was a charity with Dreamcast and PSP... :__(
I miss Capcom support.

Considering PSP birthed their fifth best selling game of all time that was obviously not charity.

Yep but I doubt when they planned to release those games (even Monster Hunter) they expected to be what they got.
Remember the firsts capcom games they released (ports and remakes): Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX, Megaman Maverick Hunter X, DarkStalkers, Breath of Fire, Megaman Power Up, UGG, those two capcom collections, capcom puzzle world, power stone. All of them with no great user base.

Well original MH for PSP was a quick cash-in. They obviously didn't expect it to be a hit.
It was released 1 year after MHG (so, it was indeed a "late port") and 1 month before MH2 was released.

Actually, Inafune was supposedly a huge supporter of the PSP and felt it would bring Capcom great success. He was eventually proven right, but Capcom didn't do much to build on that as the majority of their releases quickly became Monster Hunter related.

Pretty big Vita month! Pinball Arcade, Knytt Underground, Germinator, and Blazblue! That makes me pretty happy. Of those I only have Germinator.

Alot of games but nothing I even intend on downloading to try.

Massive bummer of a month personally unless sales are nuts.

It's official:

4 Vita games this month, since Pinball Arcade and Knytt Underground are cross-buy.

Kinda bummed that Knytt and BB are free, I bought them both last month :( Really excited to get Sleeping Dogs though, hoping I can get some more time on my PS3.

excellent. can't wait to try knytt.

also,

what is LBP single player like? I've never played an lbp. how long is the campaign? are tehre worlds and bosses? i'm curious because I know LBP is heavy on the MP community so i'd like to know what kind of gameplay I can get after servers go offline.

edit: oo! might have to bite on Papo and Yo ps3 discount too! loved teh demo.
