Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

Not sure about the error you're having, but network settings becoming disabled when you launch a game is normal, I think it's to preserve battery life. Or perhaps it's that performance requirement Toto ranted about a while back.

I do wish saves and DLC were completely separated. Even if you only buy physical games, saves are still merged with DLC data..

Just figured it out. Someone one GameFaqs had my answer. I had to re-download the DLC and install them to the "physical" bubble/data, I suppose. Everything's working now, but Jesus Christ is this the worst system saving I've ever experienced. If there's one thing I fucking hate about new systems (not just Vita) is all the profile/locked saving nonsense.

no words...just no words...

I bought that one, dunno if its the lowest. Game is super fun but theres no tutorial whatsoever. I dont know what and how to do a spin shot ;_;

If you want to put a backspin on it, press Up on the dpad when the meter is at the highest point (at the same time you press X). Then when it gets to the lowest point of the swing and you are going to hit X again, press the Down button. If you want a forward spin, you just do the opposite. The same goes for side spins, you just use Left/Right or Right/Left.

It is weird at first but becomes second nature.

Thank you Grinchy. I even looked at the game manual but couldnt figure it out. There should be a tutorial teaching these actions and some golf vocabulary lol

I have to vouch for Rymdkapsel, it's obviously got a brilliant visual design but it's a really fluid and fun rts, it does cool things with minimalist iconography to let you know how you're faring that seems great so far...

This one makes me think about the weird barrier between the PSMobile store and the Vita store, do you guys think they should just let them coexist? Or would the truly awful stuff just blow it for the good ones?

They coexist on the HK store, which is really confusing to browse. Unless they're given full game treatment (such as trophies) I'd rather them not be mixed..

They just need to have "Playstation Mobile" a section on the main store, like "Minis", "PSP Games", etc. It makes no sense to not have it like that.

Definitely don't want them to be in with "PS Vita Games" section, but nothing wrong with having it's own section on the main store.

Makes me wonder how many people never tap on that PSM tab just because they don't know what it is. They really should throw it in people's faces instead of keeping it sequestered...

Yeah. Silly that it's not integrated, yet something like "minis" is. They should both be. That way you can use the search function for PSM, and it will get more exposure.

Minis were actual PSP games made on PSP Devkits. Actual software developers, not hobbyists (with 1 or 2 exceptions)

PS Mobile titles are about on par with mobile titles from about I dunno, 6-7 years ago? By and large, with the exception of resolution, not really up to PSP quality, at least when it comes to 3d.

Some games are literally the quality of the old games you'd type in from magazines back in the C-64 or Atari 400 days. (Snake! for instance)

Are you guys a little frustrated that nearly all games that come out now are for psv AND ps3? I really feel like it detracts from the exclusivity of the vita...it makes me feel like i'm bringing a ps3 accessory/peripheral around rather than a separate gaming device.

i'm just itching for more exclusive releases that im sure are bound to come with E3

I would actually love it except it's never any PS3 games I want to play. Dragon's Dogma? Nope.

We're not even getting shovelware, like the upcoming Fast & Furious.

I agree that minis are of higher quality, but more exposure for PSM will mean more sales and that will mean more and better quality games :)

Edit: Someone get Shahid his membership. My goodness, surely a mod has seen this by now!!

Something about how Soul Sacrifice changed the mood about Vita, I think?

(According to Google Translate: http://translate.google.com/transla...//remoon.blog15.fc2.com/blog-entry-25394.html)

That Idea Factory is developing a title for the PS4 was found. This is what I found from the interview published in the latest issue of Famitsu.

PS4 title in development.

After announcing its entry into the Vita, AA of the company of which are drowning in the river Rubicon is adhered (laughs)

However, the atmosphere has changed in the presentation of "Soul Sacrifice."

It was surprisingly comfortable as it were also soaked Rubicon (laughs)

It was gonna stop "monster Mon Peace" in one of them at first, but decided to'll have to cut the rudder also Vita presentation of "Soul Sacrifice," and bring to Vita also directed other titles. If there is no "Soul Sacrifice", I did not put on the Vita other titles.

I think the industry as a whole the impact of "Soul Sacrifice".

I can not say specifically, but believes that development in Vita in the future.

Jetpack Joyride: Token Gift equipped, press Play and AFK. Roughly 20 seconds from start to cash-in, 50 coins per run.
Roughly 150 coins per minute, 9000 coins per hour, doing nothing but pressing Play and cashing out, minus time wasted.
The free vehicle gadget (with coin upgrades) probably gives around 10-20 additional coins per round on average, but make it take around 5 seconds longer.

I wanted to play this legitimately, but that mission you get -every reset- which involves spending 4,000 gold on a Final Blast and negates over 2 levels worth of gold is really soul draining. Time to cheese it.

Shahid would be great to have here!

Fingers crossed, I think the firmware update fixed my touchscreen issues...but it seemed like a hardware fault :S let's see..

Also love being able to have the Vita download properly now again!

Curious whatever the SCB dev comes up with really, new game or otherwise.

Renewed my PS+ too, grabbing some TWA and VLR while I can. Velocity Ultra HD next week too! Although I was hoping to own that since I had the first velocity on PS+ too and I'm still old fashioned in liking at least some ownership of my favourite games. It's a deeply conflicting issue :P, especially when the value is so good.

Im not sure I understand, but is he basically saying that Soul Sacrifices quality on Vita have inspired them to make Vita games, or is it because Inafune took a chance with making a Vita game so it gives them more interest in doing so?

^ It looked pretty neat when I was scrolling the PSM list recently, will check it out. That other game with the weird name someone mentioned earlier looked good as well but £4 bit risky. It was the space defender thing rpmpvlok or something hah

I'm in the US

Yeah I think the guy just wasn't scrolling down as VanWinkle said in the other thread, thanks for confirming.

C-Wars posted an update. Game is probably coming to Vita.. with the same stretch goal as the 3DS

Project Update #12: PlayStation Vita & Heroes!
Posted by Onipunks
PlayStation Vita

Is anybody aware of the fact that Vita is now a Stretch Goal and shares 65535 the magic number with 3DS?

Yes! We are gonna make the PSV port! It's not just because both 3DS and Vita have C++ core, it's another CONSOLE, guys!!

Well, we are not a licensed developer for PSV yet, but it won't be long before we get it.

Heroes

We've posted three of the five Hidden Heroes.

Xiaoyao HUA
LDF Second Lieutenant. She appears like a big sister to people outside the combat field. Growing up in Delta City, she is very concerned about Alpha, the infected neighbor city. She joined Luna Defense Forces a s her mission to protect people rather than a career. As all other LDF spec-ops girl soldiers, she has stealthy nano-implant. She is good at Sniper gun, SMG, and leadership.

Lupo
He doesn't know who his real parents are. His only connection with them is the swaddling clothes that was marked "Lupo." He was a smart kid and learned robotic technology all by himself in a garbage dump. Like all Cyber-Lover outcast soldiers, he joined the drug mafia to earn more money, and to achieve his dream, which is to become a shop-owner to sell Old Civ stuff. He is one of the four lieutenants to assist Tyrfing. He can control mini combat robots on the battle field, and is good at Spears. He is full of curiosity in finding every possible way to collect money.

Sally LIU
Sally used to be a common resident in Delta City. She detests violence, but as the Marketing VP at Onipunks Mobile Suit Branch, she learned the skills to pilot these military mechas through different expos. She felt asleep in a Prototype Roquin Mobile Suit at an exhausting expo one day, and when she woke up, Delta City had already fallen in chaos. Fortunately she found the manual of Roquin and a S7 jumpsuit prototype. She doesn't like guns, so don't force her to shoot, because she misses the target almost every time anyway. She fights in a mobile suit and is somehow ridiculously good with a cleaver.

More hidden heroes will be revealed soon.

3 more days left on Kickstarter! Fighting! And stay happy!

The Onipunks Team

Im not sure I understand, but is he basically saying that Soul Sacrifices quality on Vita have inspired them to make Vita games, or is it because Inafune took a chance with making a Vita game so it gives them more interest in doing so?

Well it seems the later is more fitting for translation. In shot, Sony (and Inafune) deciding to publish Soul Sacrifice made Idea Factory to continue on Vita support after Monster Mon Peace (before that they'll hold on developing more titles for Vita, but now they are working on another game yet to be announced).

I'm guessing that seeing Sony dare to announce new IP to Vita even after Gravity Rush sold rather mediocre gave positive image to some third party devs in Japan.
(IIRC this is the same timing when Takagi from Marvelous AQL decided to make Senran Kagura for Vita).

Was really close to pulling the trigger on LBP Vita, but I'm almost convinced it will replace Uncharted / Gravity Rush / Wipeout in June or thereabouts.

Picked up Sly 4 during the sale and I'm actually loving it, haven't played a decent 3D platformer in AGES.
