Spader was fucking hilarious, why care about the storylines, that ship sailed once Pam and Jim got together for good. At that point all that mattered was the characters. Robert California, Ryan, Erin, and Gabe were my favorite characters at that point. I enjoyed S6-7 a lot because of them.

Gabe's creepyness and obsession with horror movies, Ryan being a huge douche to everyone for like 3 seasons straight, Erin sincerely not understanding simple tasks/ideas. Then this guy shows up:

After these people left that's when the show became less interesting for me, but it was still able to hold on for a season without Michael imo.

Umm...

So Jim and Pam this week...

Is anyone else kind of sickened by their sudden reconnection? I know Pam is the most relatable and likable character in the show, and we want her happy...but Jim isn't.

There was something sickly sweet about their interactions. Something kind of, off. I didn't like it. The flirting felt forced. The whole time I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don't like Jim and Pam together anymore, I just don't.

Jim was playing it like he was forcing it while Pam was genuinely happy.

Jim's candyass sweet sweetness was NEVER part of their relationship. He has been supportive and interested in her, but they were never sappy like that. Never. I think that is why I didn't care for it.

Also what happened with microphone guy? Did we decide she was not fucking him?

I hope they give us one last great Michael Scott moment. Last week was great, hope they continue it with the last 4 episodes.

The show better end with a "that's what she said".

Well AICN is saying tonight's episode feels like a series finale and is one of the best in a long time.

Here's hoping...

It technically is.. apparently next week's actual finale is a fake 'reunion' special where they talk and look back at their lives.. apparently 'six months later' type stuff.

The Brian arc stands tall as the shittiest arc of all of the shitty arcs in the back half of this show. A mid-season recycling of the Andy/Erin/Plop dynamic from the season start thats gimmicky, rushed, and then dropped faster than it was set up.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
So, it's not that I'm just noticing this – I guess I just never really thought about it until now – but more than half of the episodes of this show have pretty much sucked (in my opinion, at least). Some might even say it's more like 2/3 of them.

The finale will be episode 201. Episode 100 was the end of S5 (Company Picnic). It's just crazy to think that there's been another hundred episodes since then! Looking at the list of episodes, I would say S6 (right from the start) is when the show most noticeably dropped in quality. Mafia, Koi Pond, Murder, The Banker? Horrendous.

Did they ever do anything more edited or terrible than the musical montage in the S8 Christmas episode?
One thing that this season has over the past couple is that they're almost entirely dropped the shitty musical bits. I don't think there's been any in S9, thankfully.

The
reunion finale
is wrapping up, camera crew ready to pack their things, when they see someone approaching the set. We see the door open, Michael Scott, his baby in arms with Holly shortly behind. "Were we late?". Cut to black. Man tears.

That's just depressing. It's joined the ranks of other once great shows like The Simpsons.

I WOULD WATCH AN ENTIRE SEASON OF DWIGHT AND JIM AS REGIONAL MANAGER AND ASSISTANT TO THE REGIONAL MANAGER.

Love the picture of Dwight in the conference room.

Jeez, the audition was atrocious, even for The Office S9.

If this episode doesn't end with Pam telling Jim that he has to go for his dream job she is the worst wife in the history of everything

Lord...I knew a montage of classic Office moments would just make things seem all the worse in current Office

I've made a huge mistake.

Hmm, six months later?

I think I'm more excited for the retrospective episode, though.

Meh episode with a strong finish, imo.

I am looking forward to seeing the finale next week. I could see how they could work in Michael Scott...

Alright, Jim finally giving her the note got me. Still pissed if Pam doesn't let him have his dream job.

Well next weeks finale takes place 6 mos from now, and that job going across country was for 3 months, and I am pretty sure it was supposed to start right around when Darryl left, so if thats the case, then that business trip windows passed.

Yeah I know, and the EP Greg Daniels has said the same thing, but I've ready to many different rumor reports that contradict all that, so if he shows up, cool. if not, no big deal.

Finale cast spoilers:
It is actually confirmed that he is in the finale, but only as a cameo. This is probably the right approach.

I will rage so hard if that's the case.

Woah. You are literally the first person I've ever seen who liked him.

His presence always confused me. He certainly wasn't supposed to be funny... was he?

I liked him...until he got Erin and a back story. Then he turned from an "ok" character filling his roll into somebody lots of people picked as a serial killer.

Ideally you don't have people thinking you are a serial killer in a comedy.

Do we know what that note said? I can't remember.
Anybody? I can't remember either.

No matter what, I'm going to be sad at the finale. The last couple of episodes have been good enough for me to miss how great this show used to be. The flashbacks help.
