Hope we see something from Rare. If not in 10 days, then at their E3 conference. Rare has been way too quiet since Kinect Sports 2 launched.

Anyone expect (read: hope) any leaks next week?

MS is doing a commendable job at controlling the leaks. I mean solid leaks, like the DS4, not the rumored spec stuff.

I hope they can make it to the 21st with their megatons intact.

It's easier to say T10 was there than suddenly put Lucid up there so everyone knows PGR is coming, as well.

Plus PGR is more likely to show up on the 21st first, and then maybe have a shorter, redundant demo at E3 when it shares a lot more space with a lot more games.

If we don't get a PGR by the end of E3 imma be mad.

But you don't think they'd give Turn10 as an example and not have them at the show, right? I get what you're saying though; Turn10 has way more brand recognition than LG, and if they said LG it would kind of give things away.

So do you think Turn10 will do a collabo' with LG on a new PGR?

Honestly?....At this point I'd rather just wait and let everything be a surprise. We have these daily rumors that all seem to be conflicting each other so it'll be nice to finally get some truth and facts all at once.

For those who are around on the 21st when it's on, any plans for an IRC chat or something? I don't think GAF will survive long.

Personally, no. Gonna turn on the 360, tune to the Xbox Events App, and then veg-out. For the hour or so after the show I'll switch to the GT app and watch Geoff interview people.

If a leak happen I guess it will come from theverge.

Is that a leak or a press release?

I kid the Verge!

Sounds like a good plan, there will be a ton of discussion to have after all that... hope we get some stuff talked about in the post show that they don't have time to goto in details on the stage.

Good idea,if event will suck you will be able to turn it off and launch some game straight away!

I think Turn10 will show up in some form or another, or at least say they're working on the "next big thing in the Forza franchise" and then it ends up being Forza 5.

I definitely think a collaboration is possible with Lucid. There's no way there's only Lucid working on PGR5 unless they're employee count is much larger than stuff you can find on the 'net. Between Rare, Playground and Turn10, I think MS has a lot of options to spread the workload around. I think Lucid would focus on the gameplay and city modelling if they can (and maybe netcode) while they get the bulk of their models and the rest of the stuff from elsewhere.

I'm happy that the 360's stream is going to be nice and easy to use if past Live stuff is any indication.

I liked the idea of being in a theater with other people in HOME on the PS3 for the PS4 event, but it just turned out real shitty; laggy stream, super low-res, sometimes the stream crapped out and would take a few minutes to reload, etc.

I think I'm going to probably stay away from everything for that hour+ that they cover the thing. I feel like posting while stuff is happening Live is usually boring and doesn't contribute much anyway. Too many people posting at one time, so it's hard to keep track and nobody is going to read long posts while they're trying to pay attention to an event. Probably will just wait until after and give my thoughts (like anyone gives a shit) after the dust settles.

A PGR with those studios sounds very, very exciting. I hope we get to find out at least what it looks like and who's making it at the event, not E3.

probably what I'll be doing too. I'll stick on GAF as long as it's up. Should be a hoot.

I give a shit. But I agree any thoughtful posts will be drowned in a sea omgs and lols.

I'll be working that day (I work from home) so will take an early lunch (11:00 AM where I'm at) and watch it on TV.

Come back to Gaf at noon, for the post show melt-downs (who ever is having them!).

The GT app is cool for the fact that you can just set it to run the shows back to back. Since I've cut cable its really nice to have that.

Only reason EA would partner in any meaningful way with Microsoft is if they're getting something in return. Blocking used games would be big, but EA could do that without MS by simply releasing their games digitally only.

EA getting the chance to showcase next gen xbox live features

Is there any way for me to watch it later without any spoilers? I have work.

Avoid the internet and try to watch a replay somewhere online or through the GT/Live Player app I guess. Even then something is bound to get spoiled by trying to navigate any gaming website or the big starting block on the dashboard.

I really hope we get a new must-play FPS this holiday. I enjoyed Black Ops a bit, but I need something that feels a bit more fresh. The alleged leaked details about the movement being changed and a new engine being implemented into Ghosts sounds fantastic.

I was just thinking about how much I missed having a big FPS that me and my buddies would play like I did with CoD 4 through Black Ops. After that I really never cared to play as much as them because I thought MW3 and BO 2 just were a little too same-y.

I haven't played Halo 4 yet though. I plan to pick it up some time next week if I ever get around to it.

Youtube and avoid gaf/twitter/facebook/any webpage that reports any news of any kind

That's pretty solid advice. Youtube usually won't show you all that much depending on if you're logged in, so you could get away with just typing it in the address bar as soon as you get home to avoid stuff.

Well thank you!

I figured that Gametrailers would have some sort of agreement with the Microsoft Live app (or whatever it's called) like they did with the VGA's.

Yep! I also like the Revision 3 app. People whine about MS's focus on apps, but theres tons of great ones.
Thanks I didnt know it was live, I stay away from it cause I thought it was like the ign app..

It'll be nice to have apps that are snappy and quick to open/close as smart-phones on the Nextbox. Multi-tasking will be an awesome addition as well.

If they load and update themselves like they do on Win 8, it's going to be glorious.

edit: Watching Pachter tear Kotaku apart on my 53 inch TV is awesome.

Hype building.

Ya if they follow the windows phone in how snappy you can move between apps, I am 100% there. I really hope the OS is quick and responsive.

really. It should be as easy as the friendlist tabs on nextbox. Just slide right and your in the youtube app without going into a whole seperate thing for it. Would be cool if they treated the apps like browser tabs..I know it could have the ram for it I believe.

They wouldn't want to give away any actual game names. The fact that Turn10 is up there is kind of disheartening for PGR though, unless they're working in tow with Lucid games on it or something.

I don't see it's disheartening, remember MS show Forza every year even 2010(no Forza released in 2010) for just showing Forza+Kinect tech

I dont expect them to show any first party launch games on the 21st, I think they will save them for the E3 press event. So no PGR on the 21st might be a good sign if they are in fact making it.

I'd imagine they would show at least one.

But you're right, E3 is when the games will be out in full force. The 21st is just an appetizer.

21st or E3,the fact that Rare keep hiring CM staff means they're developing Racing game

Edit:The turn10 account is wrong?guess only besides EA,every others just randomly put in the facebook

I really don't get what you're saying. How's that related to the quality of the apps or even the apps at all? Sounds like a completely different discussion.
Maybe it is, since i may have misread Baconsammy's post.

He's saying people complain about MS' focus on apps (on the 360), and i said that it's maybe because, since they're behind the paywall, a lot of people do not have access to them and would like them to focus on something else.

Disheartening for people hoping for a new PGR, because Turn10 is almost always associated with the Forza franchise. Not disheartening in itself of course, since a ton of people love the Forza series.

Ah I see. You may be right, but what I usually see is that people mistake MS's focus on getting apps as a sign that they're abandoning make games and catering to gamers as well, which I don't agree with.

I'm with you Bacon. I will DVR Spike just in case, but I will watch the event through the Live Event App on the 360. I hope Geoff isn't the one covering the Live event app as he always goes out of his way to spoil the first game that they show onstage.

...And now tune in to the event Live as they show Halo 4

I do think they should make an exception and allow Silver members to watch the unveil event too. You should want as many eyeballs as possible.

I'll be watching over Xbox Live as well. Gonna have my girl watch with me. And I'll make sure I drink a Mt Dew just for the event, too.
