bad winner bad reunion show.

I'm actually ready for a new host. Change up the hosts patterns have the host sleep at the camp and chat them up. Less voice overs or less private interviews and just more time showing them sitting around being worthless on the beach. To spice things up. Probst sounds the same with his lines every season. Stop with the reward lunches and still telling us they are starving to death and then they say Erik went on all the reward food rewards. Gimmie Australia and killing a pig to eat food again. I dunno all these produced clips they show are just to obvious and boring now. Show us the stupid contestants coming up with zany ideas to have fun while stuck on that beach playing coconut football. Or Erik climping a coconut tree again.

Bring in Anderson Cooper he was my favorite ever on the Mole especially season one when it was new gig. I'll never forget Anderson Cooper pouring wine to the contestants at a lunch and admitting he use to work as a wine server and knew how to pour it correctly.

I never ever want to see returning players ever.

Unless its one returning player for each team like they did way back the girl and guy who were on the lopsided team and they refused to merge them when it was just two and one person left.

And stop telling us its a returning player let the players figure it out by reconizing them. So they at least have a small chance to replay the game as an unknown.

Oh yeah Cochran I really dislike you and I hope you read this since your on here. I remember your arrogant post acting all smug.

Anderson Cooper on the Mole was a delight. Anyone that's a fan of reality TV competitions owes it to themselves to check out the non-celebrity editions of that series.
There was some really fun stuff to that series in terms of realizing personalities that very few shows seem to capture these days.

I skipped most of the Reunion, and reading the comments here...so glad I did. What exactly did Boston Rob say about Philip?

I'm soooo glad dawn didn't win. Before the jury I thought Gumby screwed his game by taking her. Obviously he's a smarter player than I would have been. If he took Eddie he still might have won but no way unanimously.

Dawn had zero chance. Cochran set her up as his goat, and she played right into that.

One World had massive casting problems- one of them teaching them the lesson that "hey, wait a second, low-IQ people aren't good TV or capable of understanding the game!"

And yet, somehow, Kat's apparently coming back. At least she's kind of like Eddie, in that she's entertainingly stupid.

I think it's fair game to talk about the next season's cast now, they haven't started filming yet so there are no real spoilers.

Here's the cast, according to the interwebs as of this afternoon:

RC (season 25) and Craig (father)
Kat (season 24) and Rob (cousin)
Laura (season 19) and Ciera (daughter)
Tina (season 2 winner) and Katie (daughter)
Monica (season 24) and Brad (husband)
Rupert (season 7,8 and 20) and Laura (wife)
Aras (season 12 winner) and Vytas (brother)
Tyson (season 18 and 20) and Rachel (girlfriend)
Rob C (season 6 and 8) and Nicole (wife)
Gervase (season 1) and a male partner (nephew?)

Monica? The woman whose profession was "NFL Player's Wife", and whose sole memorable characteristic was her comically large fake breasts? I get that they want a celebrity in her husband, but still.

...Though I guess she's more memorable than Laura from Samoa. Even after looking at her picture, I have no idea who that is.

She was essentially leading her troupe of minions post-Russell Swann collapse and Shambo didn't care much for her so she flipped and joined the Hantz crew.
Cochran pretty much pulled the same stunt as Shambo in his inaugural Survivor stint.

rupert again? bleh. why did he replace terry? man I would love to see terry again. loved watching him dominate. aras was a meh winner.

I am glad you don't work on the show.

In the end, Cochran was a well-deserved winner. Happy for the guy. Very entertaining season, although my interest dropped a bit towards the end.

Damnit, the Survivor page just spoiled the winner on my Facebook feed.

I'm not able to watch until Tuesday, and I was doing a good job avoiding everything too...

He pretty much said Phillip was one of the most entertaining people to play the game, and then promoted what appears to be a life-style book he wrote.

Also, hope Kat actually shows up this time. Her season was essentially a bunch of girls watching Kim run away with a million dollars but no one really caring enough to stop it. One of my least favorite seasons.

Rob C (season 6 and 8) and Nicole (wife)
Gervase (season 1) and a male partner (nephew?)

Rob C on his podcast had been mentioning for a week or so that he was moving and taking a break after this season for a while. But at the very end of his podcast tonight he said Nicole, his wife and potential partner for this new season, is pregnant. So now I'm confused if they're going or not. Why add another lie on top of the others he's come up with?

I'm friends with Tyson in real life so this is great news to me!!! Can't wait.

Do you know what we can expect from Rachel at all? And is Tyson as hilarious in RL as he's portrayed in his confessionals?

I've only met her a handful of times so I don't know her all that much. I'm going to do my homework on her and i'll report back. And yes Tyson is that funny. He thinks very highly of himself, but he's hilarious.

In reflection, I think they need to be more careful with the editing. It seems like they couldn't have made it more obvious Cochran and Dawn would make it to the end even if they were deliberately trying to give it away. As soon as Brenda had more than 3 seconds of confessional I thought she was doomed and sure enough that was her last episode. I like Cochran well enough, but it was practically the Cochran show all season with a little bit of "look how super annoying Philip is" (I get it already) and "look at Dawn squalling again" sprinkled on top.

Go Cochran, great win!

So awesome seeing him win. I found him super likable, a great player and very entertaining. Truly one of the all time greats in my eyes, like others have said he let things happen when he needed to and he made things happen when he needed to.

I thought Cochran had it but they did fool me into thinking Dawn would get some votes. Looking back now they had to do it that way because it was such a wipeout. Dawn was very annoying but I thought she might get some credit for playing hard. She obviously stepped outside her comfort zone and tried to play a good game, I think she deserved a bit of credit for that.

For all the problems this season had(Shamar, Brandon, Phillip, fans getting destroyed early) I really liked it a lot. Almost every vote I liked either because of the entertainment value or because I loved seeing the person voted for get sent packing.

Bad break for Erik. I wasn't really expecting him to win but seeing how he went out I think that probably had a big effect on his edit. CBS knew he wasn't involved so why show him. If he could have got Cochran out who knows he may have had a shot. Erik going down was a double bonus for Cochran. Erik could have been a threat for immunity, plus it was one less TC to have to survive.

Speaking of which that seemed like a weird final immunity challenge. So many of them I'm thinking wow I'm glad I'm not out there doing that. This one on the other hand looked pretty fun and put next to no physical or mental strain on them. I wonder if that was gonna be the second to last IC but once Erik went out they just used it as the final.

Sherri was terrible at the final TC. I guess she knew she had no chance and didn't even bother trying.

Seeing how popular Brenda was they probably should have showed more of her.

Not sure yet what to think of next season. I am disappointed not to see Kim. I'd like to see how she would do with a different cast.

Rupert may not be a great player, but every season he's appeared in has been excellent.

How much of that was because of him, though? All-Stars was good mainly because of Boston Rob antagonizing everybody, and then Heroes vs Villains was all about the Villains tribe.

As for Pearl Islands...I remember it being really good, but looking back it was mainly Jonny Fairplay being awesome and a whole lot of bad, thanks largely to the Outcasts twist, plus Rupert himself became kind of unbearable after awhile. (Also -- and I'd forgotten this-- did you know it was the first season to have someone quit? I vaguely remembered there was a guy named Osten on the show, but I couldn't remember why he was memorable, until I re-read the show's Wikipedia article.) If he's the same guy for the fourth time, that'll be awfully hard to take.

The editors / producers were idiots for showing Dawn without her teeth on national TV. It's obviously a big deal to her and the impact would have been the same at the moment had they just cut away and showed the view from behind. I don't think Brenda was wrong to do it, vote or not vote, but I do think it was dumb to show us. Hopefully it doesn't humiliate her now. Apologies if I already said that here. Can't remember if it was here or Reddit. :P

Yeah, that season was boring for the very reason you mentioned. The thing I liked about this season was how people didn't just say 'this would be a good time to make a move' and do nothing, they actually DID do something.

I kept praying that Dawn wouldn't win all throughout the finale, so the outcome was pretty satisfying.
The new season's weird title gives the impression that the players will have to give blood to get water.

he was also the dumbest all-star and a bully. he made jerri and fairplay actually sympathetic at times. and acted like an entitled douche because he was so "loved"
My favorite episode of All-Stars is the one where Rupert stubbornly builds his tribe's shelter on the beach so he can attempt to drown them while Jerri gets a positive edit lamenting Rupert's lunacy.

lol That would be nuts but no.

Blood is thicker than water. ;)

Hmm.. Someone asked Rob C on twitter if he was on season 27 and he responded with "I believe I have denied these rumors multiple times." On top of that both he and Nicole have been doing a fair amount of tweeting all day today. He's probably not on next season.

One interesting theory I did see was that he might be traveling to the Philippines right now, but only to do pregame interviews with the new cast. The other major TV guys from EW, etc usually do that before a season and then hold their interviews until right before it starts to air. Maybe he's now considered very legit Survivor press.

He confirmed last night that Nicole was pregnant. It's entirely possible they were on board before then.

If we've really just lost Rob, Natalie and Terry from this season, then it basically sounds like it is going into the complete shithole. I hope wires are just getting crossed.

Yeah, this season will be a disaster if we're down those three in exchange for the likes of Colton and Rupert.

Wait Colton now too? Ugh....

On one of Rob C's podcasts, Colton mentioned that he was almost on last season with the medically evacuated returning players. I guess Survivor producers must really like him. And to be fair, he has come accross a lot better on the podcasts I've heard him on, I would think he wouldn't be as large of an asshole this time out.

I was really looking forward to seeing Rob C again because he's my favorite player ever. But yeah, after they announced Nicole was pregnant on the podcast, I highly doubt she's going to be on Survivor. No way they're letting a pregnant woman be out there for 39 days.

What I'm hoping for is they'll still let him play but he'll bring a different relative. That's entirely possible.

Are we sure the pregnancy isn't a cunning ruse?

Edit: Ah, missed his stern denials.

Nah, the twist might have been conceived with him and Nicole in mind as potential castmates. They really have a chemistry that I doubt he would have with someone else.

And Rob C fans should see this as a good thing; this means he could be cast on a season with a much less shitty premise!

Are we sure the pregnancy isn't a cunning ruse?

Doubtful. They'd already mentioned they were going to be taking a break and moving this summer. There was no reason to add pregnancy unless it was true, especially since there's so many fans who listen to the podcast.
