Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

Oh well looks like I'll have to try and order it from blockbuster myself (I hear a lot of things about it not liking any sort of payment) and btw I think the real reason was hardly any other retailer has it in stock.
Well what do you know...it didn't accept my card details (rather it did then verified by visa went wrong), so I deleted the card details (maybe I made a typo etc). Trying now it complains the card is already in use. What a load of crud.

Apparently it works once you phone them and quote the references but I'm not doing that. As for click and collect. Well nearby stores are shut down. Unregistered. Maybe that'll get thew details out of their system, then again maybe not. Not sure if I'll bother retrying.

What was I was trying to buy...the last game Bomberman made an appearance in (may not be a fact);
Sudoku the puzzle game collection

Skylanders Giants Starter Pack (360) - £31.94 @ Blockbuster

Skylanders Giants Starter Pack (Wii U) - £29.48 @ Blockbuster

Hopefully this helps someone :) Also available for click and collect to save £1.99 postage if you're a true Cheap Arse Gaffer!

Sadly I am not a true gaffer but I'm in the states right now so I swallowed the £1.99 charge for delivery.

Thanks for this though, been waiting to get a starter pack cheap as I got the first game on Xbox (which I sold off) - between this, lego and rayman challenges my Wii U will get some major use in the summer <3

Well, yesterday (monday), every Virgin Megastore in France made ultra huge discounts on everything except books. Half price on games and consoles, even brand new. That's because every Virgin Megastore will close in the next months and they are nearly giving away the stocks by slashing prices.

One Virgin Megastore in France, seconds after opening

So PS3 could be taken for like €125, Xbox 360 for €89, PSP for €50... The problem is there were very few of them (their last restock was like two months ago) and they were all gone minutes after opening. There were guys who took 3 or 4 PSP at half price just to resell them on the internet at full price. Some very luck people even got iPads for €200.

There were another problem: the retail prices they had on some games were kinda double the price we could find on websites like Amazon. The best example was 007 Legends which was €70, slashed down to €35. You can find it for €20 in some stores. And by the way, games in France are way more expensive than in England.

Anyway took Heavy Rain for €12.50 and PlayStation All-Stars for €20.

The problem in France is that retailers never do Black Friday-like sales. When they do sales on video games and high-tech equipment, it's always on very old equipment and games they can't manage to sell. Their sales are like FIFA 07 at €2, or very bad DS games. They never slash the prices on good and recent games, they stay at €60 or €70 for a long period of time, because they absolutely want to get money off their games they bought €49 per copy.

And after they get surprised not getting enough customers because everyone is buying on the internet for cheaper prices. GAME closed every store in France 4 months ago and did the exact same thing by slashing all the prices. Now it's Virgin's turn. And the future doesn't look bright for other specialized retailers threatened by the internet prices. Anyway I feel sad for the 700 people who work in these stores (they were around 1000 for GAME), and will have to suffer this because of the market turnover and bad decisions from the management.

I need to get one of the new pink 3DS XLs for my GF and because it doesn't look like we're getting them here (NZ/Aus, haven't heard anything yet) I'm guessing I'll need to import from UK.

I don't have much experience with ordering hardware online though I basically just get games, any recommended places?

does this version still suck? (or was it fixed by the recent update?)
kinda tempted...

wow... that was incredibly something. (btw, he said japanese, not chinese.)

Origins on 3DS can't be fixed, maybe you're confusing it with Rayman 3D which apparently runs a bit better after the update? The art is scaled back from the original instead of crafted for the 3DS screen and rez, the result is a blurry mess of PQ. You can try the demo anyway.

^ Wow. I'm cheap but a lot of people here are way too over-the-top. If you put a game that costs £8 into Flubit then you've gone a bit too far imo. They give between 10-15% discounts usually, so that's a £0.708 discount if they give you 10% off. Honestly just order it on Zavvi or The Hut...

Amazon UK is the safest bet for ordering video game hardware. Me and friends of mine have ordered 3ds and Wii from there without a problem.

Even with the free delivery option (if supported) the parcel arrive soonish, i think they send consoles with a courrier on Amazon's expense.

So if you would have a 10% discount voucher on Zavvi and there's nothing else you want from them other than a £7 game, you would choose to not use that voucher because you think it's too cheap? I don't see the difference between those vouchers and running it through Flubit.

Also if those over-the-top people would buy a 100 games on a yearly basis (and let's assume they all cost £7, just to keep it simple) and run all of them through Flubit, that would save them £70.

My Flubit order from the 6th has still not arrived despite it being dispatched with an estimated delivery date of the 9th.

Fuck this shit. Far too unreliable and I see others have had similar problems of stuff not turning up.

My order from the 5th turned up yesterday, Tomb Raider (360) for £15.53. Only thing I've ordered so far though.

It really depends where it's coming from. If they buy from amazon you'll get it quick. If they buy from Zavvi you won't. The estimate is just that, an estimate - not a guarantee.

But yeah, the above advice is good. Flubit is not a service for the impatient.

okay so i may have just done goofed.
i made an american psn account to get hold of some of the ps1 games that aren't on the uk site and, stupidly using out of date information without doing any research, put funds on to an entropay virtual visa card. unfortunately these are no longer supported. is there any way i can use this card to get american psn credit or anything, or have i basically threw away money? :(

Maybe you can use that entroypay virtual visa card to buy digital money on amazon.com?

Wait, would it be possible for me, in the UK, to buy US PSN content for my PSP? :O
Only difference to PS3 is you can't use content from different accounts at once. Always have to be logged in with the account the game you want to play is tied to.

The only issue is that you can only have one account at a time on a PSP (or a Vita), so buying stuff from multiple stores means having to delete one account from the system to access content from the other. It's not like the PS3 where you can just switch between accounts easily and access content bought on a dummy account from your main.

My Flubit order problem rumbles on.

Today a third copy of the wrong game arrived. :/

Now up to 21 emails trying to get it sorted...

At this point it might be wise to pursue a refund and just buy the right thing, rather than suffer any further incompetence.

Agreed. That's what I've now done. :/ It's a shame because Flubit actually phoned me last week & assured me that they were doing their best & that if the wrong game arrived a third time then there must be a major problem somewhere.

If you are running custom firmware you can download an app that lets you switch between your accounts easily. The one I use is called PSN Manager VLF Edition.

Flubit has nothing to do with the shipping though.

Has anyone's super cheap Zavvi/The Hut Animal Crossing 3DS XL still not been cancelled?

My £120 pre-order from TheHut is still going strong. I'm still expecting it to get cancelled when the time comes to ship them, it will be a nice surprise if they actually honour it.

Its easy to switch accounts with a homebrew program. I have a US and a Eu account on my psp and switching between them takes about a minute.
