Hype get!

+That it will take a while to complete (so basically expect it in 2014 or 2015)

Then it will no longer be Zelda. That would be like asking for God of War without QTE's and screaming, or Halo without Shields and Vehicles.

I would rather Nitendo make a new I.P. and do those thing than distort and old one. Why do people want to butcher proven formula's so much?

How. In my opinion it would be a 3D representation of the original Legend of Zelda with a friend acting as navi. Four Swords Adventures was pretty good as well.

So, are there any real hints as to what games might be announced? I honestly can't think of any outside of like, 2 or 3.

Nothing, really.

All going well, this will be a palate cleanser for E3; getting near future titles over and done with, and letting the E3 presentations focus on stuff further out.

I'm not a smart man...but I know what Zelda is.

Be prepared to turn it off then. Game & Wario is basically the first internally developed Nintendo title for Wii U since Nintendo Land and NSMBU.

Such a game is fine and all, but not the reason why most early adopters by an HD gaming console. So if they do spend significant time on that outside of the massive amount they already have in the last one, I don't think it will go over well. Such a thing instantly takes the hype and interest I have in this Nintendo Direct that makes me want to watch it live, to just reading about the details later in a second hand way. Not what Nintendo is going for with this.

Not really, they want to let you play any dungeon in any order you want (you will probably have to beat them all to get to Ganon's dungeon/castle), and this would pretty much be a true successor to Zelda 1.

And playing multiplayer would be like FS and FSA, but different obviously, not level based like them.

And you would still be allowed to play by yourself.

Varying Dungeon order was done in the first three Zeldas.

Co-Op was done in the Four Swords games.

It wouldn't be new to Zelda.

This Direct is basically just a recap of what they have in store for summers. I wouldn't even go in expecting no announcements. Basically dates, trailers and new information about titles that have already been announced. Maybe details about summer update.

June Direct is the one that has to sell the console.

So what we're going to hear tomorrow is basically:

'Since we're expected to say something because we haven't had ANYTHING worthwhile for you Wii U-wise for so long, here are some release dates for games that we initially promised that you'd already have available, as well as footage from the very few games we have pending that you may or may not be interested in.'

Sounds like a dud. E3 is in 3 weeks. They can throw a bone or two. This loyal dog is starving! Back to Fire Emblem, Ni no Kuni and Tales of Graces f I guess... lol

No, it's always been specific order, that's why the dungeons were numbered. Even the first game doesn't let you go in any order. People overblow how non-linear the first Zeldas were. ALttP and OoT get romanticized but they are pretty linear as well. The less linear the dungeon order, the less emphasis can be placed on complex item puzzles. A little non-linearity would be good, but they shouldn't regress to Zelda 1 levels.

So, Game & Wario (probably eShop only), Wii U Party, and Pikmin. Am I missing anything?

W101 maybe? I figured that's been pushed back to "autumn", which Nintendo says will not be discussed until their E3 Directs.

It would be nice if they announced the VC and eShop lineup. I want that Mega Man X!

This is what I am expecting. I bet they show off more of the same Wii U and 3DS games we have already seen, but the "surprise" announcements will be new VC and eShop games. In my opinion, that sounds like a great ND to me. Megatons will come in a few weeks.

I think they should, shake it up a bit. Nothing wrong with reinventing a series. In my opinion, Zelda has been questioned since TP. It's time for a gamble on change.

It may be hard to design, but Nintnedo some of the best level designers.

Is there any good reason for this thread to reach 18 pages already when everyone knows they are going to show only Game&Wario, Wii Fit U, Wii Play U and Pikmin 3 (all games that everyone expected to be released before March so they would be releasing actually meaty stuff right now, not from September / October) and call it a day?

I mean, they specifically said this was for Summer titles, and I highly doubt they are going to release more than one game a month if so far they haven't been able to deliver.
