Cyberpunk update 2.3 overview stream 5 PM CEST

Call me crazy but do they have some weird other motivation about PS5 Pro? Do they not want comparisons to Switch 2 version at this moment, or something? Just seems like if it was something they actually wanted to do, wouldn't be a big deal, and I don't know why they wouldn't.

I'm guessing they don't want to put the work in for a small amount of users, I dno what else it would be.

As u can see, that was huge slap in the face of cdpr, that sony gave them, it requires goodwill from the dev studio to make pr0 patch, and they got as much of that goodwill as sony had when they removed their game from playstation store, and yup, it was huge deal otherwise mainstream non gaming media wouldnt report on it.

Now cdpr has the upper hand, cp2077 sold over 30m copies(official data from 2024, if we include 2025 i bet it gets to 35 by end of 2025, especially if we include switch2 version ;)
They making gorgeous looking w4 too, a sequel to a game that sold 60m copies worldwide(again official data).
Now sony gotta court them, while having stigma from previous behaviour :P

The only slap in the face in the situation was to consumers who paid day 1 for a mockery of a product. Sony did the right move- CDPR deserved every ounce of the shit that came their way.

Apparently the patch unlocks the framerate in VRR mode, so the Quality mode on Pro is now over 40 fps and Performance at 80fps+, to be confirmed later

Seems to be 60-85ish in performance mode depending on what's going on, and in ray tracing mode it's still going to be locked at 30 due to no LFC on ps5. Only popped out of it twice for a split second when looking at the sky with nothing else around

If the VRR mode is at 120hz LFC should be enabled.

Not quite. The 4070 is around ~15% faster. It can sometimes even balloon up to over 20%.
Seen an older video at digital foundry where they were comparing the pro to a 4070 and for that game it was about the same level give or take ( the 5060ti or whatever wasn't released back then ) .

Honestly who cares 10% more or less with these shitty devs won't make up for 3 or 4 frames difference

Yeah, that was before the 5060 Ti was out. The closest one at the time was the 4070, but it won quite easily. They did one with the 5060 Ti and 9060 XT more recently, and they're generally in the same ballpark.

It's not a huge deal. Just for accuracy.

They push out a free patch with more than just some bug fixes or performance fixes 5 years after the initial release and there are people whining about it like little entitled toddlers, the absolute state of gaming right there.

This patch on PS5 Pro actually feels worse to me in terms of fluidity (Performance mode). Frame times are too variable. Its like VRR just cant keep up. It felt way better before capped at 60.

I payed full price on release for the game finished and had a blast with it,only bug I found was in one mission my character got stuck in the car and it wouldn't progress the story, rebooting the mission solved the issue, I never understood the hate for the game and those bug compilation videos were misleading because as the game implies it is a compilation that doesn't mean you will see all of them or at the same time like in those videos...

Because only your experience matters. The hundreds of thousands, if not millions who had a problem with this game were just making shit up.

Sound like one of those "I don't have the problem, so everyone else is the problem" scenarios.

Your experience was the exception, not the rule.

Same here. I played it on release on PC with a 3080 and had a blast. My GOTY for 2020.

The bugs I experienced were nothing game-breaking, just things like palm trees behaving weird sometimes and so on. I never understood the hate until I tried the original Xbox One version. That was abysmal.

We also have people that think there are tens of thousands of pending sales on a game that already runs on PS5 Pro, but waited 5 years to pull the trigger on buying just waiting for an enhanced PS5 Pro patch. Absolutely delusional.

My Switch 2 version suddenly updated to the 2.3 version about an hour or so ago so I guess it was meant as a surprise release for some reason or someone at CDPR/Virtuos made a mistake.
It was probably an easy patch for the S2, considering it was already doing the VRR with 40fps in the handheld performance mode.

Fidelity being uncapped rather than being capped at 40 is certainly a choice. Lurches all over the place. Feels very unstable to play.

It's great that they added FSR4 support to this game. That alone makes this a great patch.

But I was really hoping for a PS5 Pro patch.

I guess them adding VRR support to PS5 is good enough to them.

They could easily lock Ray tracing to 40 and it'd be great, but the improved input lag is a great addition. Turning off vrr (locking to 30) and playing at the normal locked 30 is now just painful.

I just wonder what the resolution algorithm is doing now that higher frame rates are achievable? I assume it's dropping the drs window

Damn 😭

They did all that work to get it running on Mac for an extra 2,000 sales but won't throw in a Pro Mode to sell an extra 20,000 copies for PS5 Pro? Make it make sense.
I said the same thing about the switch 2 version, no PS5 pro patch but a whole switch 2 port which reports have already said that it all 3rd party games on the switch 2 have underperformed.

Possible Bug/Feature in 2077? Before the patch it would disable DLSS framegen if you had Smooth Motion activated, with the patch the effects stack, so I had the game running at 480fps at start-up. I don't have a 480hz display and I don't want to toast my GPU so I exited.

Cyberpunk supposedly has pretty good sales on the Switch. But they actually have full game on a cart unlike vast majority of others.

Man Fuck off CD Project....no Pro patch is BS considering we still have never even got RT reflections on console ...something that was supposed to be in the game when they released the big 2.0 "next gen patch"...thats right they even had it listed in the Video settings "added RT reflections and shadows" but then they quickly and mysteriously removed the wording in a hotfix

So console people have never gotten a great version of this game. The performance mode looks pretty bad to this day and who wants to have to play at 30 fps just to get better visuals that don't have any of the truly impressive RT features that PC has. Yet they can release a million patches on PC constantly adding new features and boosting performance, they can make a Switch 2 version and even a Mac version.

Kiss my ass Cd Project.
