If ms released a console like the wii u as their follow up to 360, ballmer effigies would be burning. did you see how people started turning on that company when those rumours were floating around? No, some nintendo fans are really hardcore fans come hell or high water. please notice the word 'some' in the above sentence.
Making an off hand twitter and then seeing the news stories pop up would be equal parts hilarious and terrifying.
If my position was that I only cared about 1st party support, I wouldn't give a damn what 3rd parties said. Not too mention that 3rd party support has been awful since the n64 so there should be some level of desensitization present with Nintendo fans.Yes, I am sure a Sony fan or a Microsoft fan would have responded any differently to such a comment, amirite?
You're telling me not to be dense, then you throw something far-fetched out there like it's a conspiracy. You truly are a hypocrite.
Don't worry, your truth is just as good as my truth, and just as good as his truth.
I know exactly what tyranny means. Nintendo has a long history of bullying third parties by implying that game design is more important than graphics. And the way they present themselves to their audience doesn't help the industry. Instead of growing some balls, trying to man up and speak the truth like the EA employee they resort to constant apologies and polite answers that somehow are considered to be "professional". What are they, a bunch of babies? Judging by their recent gaming output, seems so.
Can Fifa save the entire company. It sells well not that well. Ea's in a tough patch ahead there's no doubt about that. Same with activision due to likely low next gen intial growth but they're profitable enough to weather it.
I'd absolutely agree with this if they still weren't making games for Vita. Plus, their support back at launch was tepid at best and there were rumors before launch that something had happened and games were being cancelled.
But that certainly didn't save them. What makes you think it will save them now. If for example battlefield fails and loses market share they're even more screwed. They're no Activision.
It's a high risk strategy, as it is literally putting all your eggs in one basket.

And what R these deficiencies you speak about? That guy was right.
That Criterion shipped Most Wanted doesn't prove anything false. Their game just didn't stress the aspects of the design that are deficient in WiiU when compared to 360/PS3. Except in multiplayer where the WiiU version supports fewer players at once.
How does anything in this post even work
If only he expands on his comments on why he thinks its less powerful than Xbox360.

Whoever wins, we lose.lol EA lol
lol Nintendo lol
Nintendo should do a Sega and bring their sports sims in-house. It didn't take long for Sega's 2K sports series to outdo EA Sports with better review scores across the board. His whole point dosn't make sense.
Madden has been selling since the 16bit era
Same as FIFA.
Why will they stop selling now?
And we seen Activision milking dry Guitar Hero and creating another very successful IP with Skylanders. He's merely making an assumption that EA won't make another succesful IP ever.
No, his point dosn't offers any real argument.

They could bring back the NBA Courtside series. Let NST do that. Then get Retro studios working on an NFL game. If I remember correctly EA's NFL exclusivity agreement doesn't cover 1st party games.
Shaded polygons on a < 1MHz MOS Technology 6502 (NES, Atari 2600, Commodore C64): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVPW40ygds4SNES had polygons.
Muthafuckin' Star Fox.
Fifa 13 sold more than 12 million copies. It's a huge blow for the Wii U for not having at least a Fifa game. EA made their decision, it's unfortunate, but what can you do?
I think they'd still be trying another console, probably with a twist like the Wii (since they were already thinking in that direction during the GC era, and even if the Wii had done Cube numbers it'd still have probably turned a profit). The DS was still a massive hit, after all.
It's hard to say how things would be different it history had gone in the complete opposite direction.
Dude, there's a lot of overreactions on both "sides" of this thing.
NHL 2K3 is still better hockey game than any of EA's offerings.Nintendo should do a Sega and bring their sports sims in-house. It didn't take long for Sega's 2K sports series to outdo EA Sports with better review scores across the board.

Cold hard truth that almost everybody knows but few dare to say.

All Nintendo needs to do is secure PES support. They need NOTHING from EA. PES is much better than FIFA all the same.
Activision has like four IPs in constant rotation, that and licensed games. Activision also has diversity in what audiences it caters to, unlike EA. Activison can actually support the Wii U with an appropriate title, because they have something in their portfolio that will appeal to the Wii U audience. EA guns for literally the same audience with every game it makes.
Nintendo is unsustainable? High profit margins on hardware, high profit margins on accessories, software royalties, and insane sales for internal software? How is that unsustainable? The only problem right now is the Wii U making a loss, which 3DS is more than absorbing, and for which they have cash reserves of $15 billion.
You don't think that Nintendo, coming off of two consoles that were relative flops, compared to the competition of the time anyway, would be in a very bad place financially if the Wii had met the same fate? People in 2005 were talking about how Nintendo would transition to 3rd party just like Sega.
NBA Courtside, Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball, Football, True Swing Golf, Soccer.Nintendo should do a Sega and bring their sports sims in-house. It didn't take long for Sega's 2K sports series to outdo EA Sports with better review scores across the board.

Maybe people only care for first party games because there is no third party software to write home about on a Nintendo system? Food for thought. Did the egg come first or the chicken?
Does Konami even support the Wii U?
Did you play PES and FIFA on Wii? It really was.It really isn't.
That's all the point I was trying to make, they COULD do it. Let me simply ask you this. Do you see the WiiU succeeding at the rate it's going? Do you think the money Nintendo has pocketed now will last if they don't get this system going?
