Whatever Microsoft did would have had to be started months ago. It is only getting announced on the 21st. It's in the can now. People shouldn't get the wrong idea that changes can happen this late.
I think it would be pretty crazy if MS actually reacted to Sony's February event. If after Sony said they would never reveal too early so competition couldn't react, it would be super ironic if MS saw, upgraded, and left Sony no time to counter-upgrade.

I have no numbers...I believe a guy on B3D said 32MB 6T ESRAM could likely be done in 60-70mm^2.
That's a lot but plausible. But double that for 64MB is pushing it imo.
if tf counting will be higher than sony...internet will stop to work till sony upgrade their specs ahahah

They have probably had two or three prototypes in development concurrently. It was a sad day when I found out that Sega had released the less powerful Dreamcast prototype ;_;

Which "only" leaves 300mm for everything else.

32MB should be enough anyway, I dont see the need for 64MB, it's not some magic threshold that I can see.
1080P is 2.25 the pixels as 720p, and Durango is giving devs 3.2x the EDRAM for 2.25X the pixels as X360. It's an improvement.
64mb sort of calls those specs in question imo.
Unless it truly is EDRAM or something smaller than 6T. In that case even 64MB should be a doddle. But I dont know the performance ramifications.

at the least we can say 20 cu's, 64esram, 12 ram, seems to be the consistent rumor now. that counts for a little something. of course it could be everybody copying the same wrong rumor.

AA/Downsampling, second screen/Kinect stuff... There are lot of reasons to go 64 MB Esram.
I got the impression more about the design and features, no hard facts.

Dont know how hard it is to double the Bandwidth of Esram im not really that knowledgeable on hardware slacked through those CS classes
But 32mb 204GB/s seems a more legit move to make then to double the memory space and bandwidth both. Then microsoft has a pr point that they have the fastest ram on consoles off course they won't mention the amount or be like just add the two bandwidth sources together

yeah its definitely fun and funny. Its also cool you can make your own levels and play other people's levels, so there's lots to do.
I really enjoy terraria too. People say it's like a 2D minecraft (I've never played minecraft) but what I like about it is that its an pretty big open world, and you explore it, find the bosses and new weapons. Of course this may just be my love for NES/SNES style of games. Ha

If it is more powerful than the PS4 will we still all be talking about lowest common denominator or will we shift gears to pointing out the disparity we had this generation.
That's what I'm most interested in.
There will be no lowest common denominator IMO. Both PS4 and Xbox if the rumors are true would lead to a higher standard concerning PC ports.

If the next Xbox is the most powerful console next generation it means absolutely nothing if the games aren't there.
Its because anyone who seriously campagains for these rumours has such a obvious bias that they would obviously hate someone like me who tries to bring down the conversation to a more sane level.
This latest one isn't too bad, but seriously when do people think Microsoft made this thing? all the previous rumours (vgleaks, et al) have said that there information from this year says the APU is the same.
And to repeat for the 1000th time, take the date the APU was locked down and add roughly a year, you now have shipping date. Thats before we get into the obvious thermal and size issues.
But im obviously going to be hounded down for saying this because im 'hating' on the rumours. Yeah reaility is hate.
To ship the actual console this year they would have decided which prototype to go off last year.
Well, 20 CU's should put Durango at 2 TFLOPS. 2 vs 1.8 is much better than 1.2 vs 1.8. A difference of 200 GFLOPS will be less noticeable in the end than 600 GFLOPS.
Guys there's a reason pastebin posting is bannable. Just wait 3 days till MS talks or doesn't talk about the specs. If it's the former, great we can go on comparing, if it's just a vague: 8 core CPU, AMD custom GPU, 8 GB or RAM talk then you know they're in trouble, specs-wise.
talking about vgleaks diagram u could be totally right ...
we jsut need to see if what ms show will be vgleaks console...

yeah, at least on par though, plus you'd have more ram in durango.
and 64 mb esram is a lot and might be another advantage.
at least it would take durango from lesser to clearly on par/slightly to significantly above
I think you should recheck your sources. There is a huge possibility that we're in for a surprise.
Such a smart move of them to focus on the hardware and specs in this conference. By focussing on games at E3, It means they're in a great position to steal the headlines. Sony and Nintendo are going to have to mention features again, whilst MS can just come out and say here's the software.

not really. i' m half expecting them to debut amazing looking games and vague specs in the same go. what then?
if they want to prevent sony to have any last chance to react it would be better to keep the specs secret, although bad for us.
a good case can be made it's best to keep all specs as secret as possible all the time really. that's why i commend sony with ps4 and ms last gen for being so open. but no guarantee it will continue.
If someone posted a pastebin rumour of a weaker xbox would you believe it
or is it only because its stronger and more powerful that you believe it.
the chances of this being true are miniscule they just took the old rumour and added more stuff to be faster then the PS4.

i will say, it makes superdae's cryptic tweets from weeks/months ago make sense perfectly.
he said we were working on old specs to say durango was inferior and implied there was a major upgrade.
