Not trying to start shit, but I seem to remember you having some very different feelings towards RE6. Is it because of your love for the previous games? I would say RE6 is at least a few levels above ACM in terms of single player, and leaps over it in Mercs mode.

I straight up enjoy playing Aliens more than the 4 main campaigns of RE6. But we're talking I put 3 hours into Aliens, and a bit of that spent properly framing screenshots, and gave my first impressions. I put over 30 hours into RE6 between 360 and PC and that's my final impression of the game.

RE6 is a 5/10 for me because in my opinion for every one thing that the game does right and I enjoy, it does one thing equivalently as poor that frustrates the shit out of me. One step forward, one step back the entire game. 5/10.

Who knows, by time I actually finish Aliens (if I can) I may think it still deserves that 44 on Metacritic.

EDIT: Mercs is awesome, doesn't save the game!

Ok.

I just think the only problems with RE6 are the story, and the textures.

Had a blast with it on both PC and PS3. I get the issues, but I found it personally fun to play, and the Mercenaries is the best yet.

it's one of the 5 best games this generation, and i'd recommend you play vanilla.

if yes i might just buy the bundle.

call of pripyat is fantastic as well. if you're still hankering for the zone after those two, clear sky ain't bad but i think it's the worst of the three. each one manages to be distinct even though they're working on the same template.

shadow of chernobyl is pretty heavily based on scavenging with a healthy dose of horror. probably my favorite of the three due to the more thoughtful campaign and level design, though the latter two have some improved mechanics and customization.
clear sky has the most action with the largest-scale gun battles, especially with the faction wars.
and call of pripyat has the largest environments, allowing for tons of exploration with more fleshed out side quests. you'll be fighting more mutants than people though which is a bit of a bummer.
