We've been discussing the possibility of this in bits and pieces in other threads, but I wanted to try and consolidate the conversation here, what with E3 now mere weeks away, and the next Nintendo Direct promising "fall titles and beyond."
Apparently, Retro has been hiring testers. I'd appreciate some more detail toward this end. Hiring testers would seem to suggest they're optimizing a demo build, no? I don't know much about the development process, so that's just speculation on my part. What I DO know is the last time Retro unveiled (and released) a game wholly their own (I.E. not Mario Kart) was in 2010, when they gave the gaming world the glorious platformer that is Donkey Kong Country Returns.
But what are they working on now? It's truly a mystery. Are we finally approaching the grand reveal? Weren't there hints they could've shown it last year, but they wanted more time in the oven, and according to Reggie, Retro would've killed him if he revealed their project then? Not that you can tell much from evasive PR talk, but still...
So, given the bits and pieces we've been able to gather, do you think the Nintendo Direct next month will finally show us Retro's new project?
