How to (probably) beat 00:51: Equip best throw sigils, 150% 1HP sigil. ATK boost fruit, lots of ice thorns. Throw like crazy, break with lightning.

I'm actually pretty excited about remote play on PS4 after playing xplay Guacamelee. Hope NHL is a launch title. I've been fiending for a NHL title since I got my hands on my Vita.

Wait, what? This awesome game is here the 24th of September?

Yeah I have a pretty big boner for this game. I still don't understand why everyone is like ERMAGERD FIRE EMBLEM in that other thread while downplaying this game. I really need to play through Persona 4 tho, it's just taking sooooo long to get out of the introductory period.

Well I have to admit that I had my doubts about P4G also in the beginning but just keep on playing. It takes a while for this game to open up but after that moment, I couldn't stop playing it and after many, many hours including the real ending it ended up as one of my top three RPG's ever played!

Is Ys coming to Europe this fall, too?
Some (Spanish?) retailer seemed to be under the impression that Bamco was bringing it over.

Even if Fire Emblem isn't the most well known Nintendo property, Falcom is still tiny in comparison when it comes to marketing power.

bummer guys, couldn't get that $6 copy of Smart As. :(

it sold out before I had a chance to order one.

i hope vitagaf promotes Ys to death, that game looks amazeballs!!!

Dude, I am going to buy the fuck out of Ys Celceta. It is by far the Vita game I am most excited for this year... or any year. Justifies my ownership of the system on its own.

Then please start playing it.

Hey gaiz, cross posting something I made for this other Vita thread:

Vita has no games right?
Didnt you get the memo? The argument is no longer that the vita has no games. It is that is has no system sellers.

Shifting goalposts lol. People are just making excuses to not buy the vita .

Part of me just needs to give up and accept that I will never be 'good' at hot shots golf, despite how fun it is. Can't seem to master spin, and wind is blowing me all over the place.

Oh well, back to SS then, at least I can play that half worth a damn.

I'm pretty sure the people who use this argument have no intention of ever buying one.

Good point guys - I've actually always made the assumption that maybe, maybe the people constantly hating and preaching the doom and gloom would eventually consider buying one. Maybe they're just..... in it for the lulz?! Seriously though, it's really lame that people like that exist.

As a Vita owner, I am extremely unsatisfied with the software lineup, so I have to agree with the doom & gloom people. There's nothing on it I want to play now, there's very little coming to it I want to play in the future.

I was expecting it to be like the PSP - getting multiplatform games, instead, it's the most disappointing gaming device I've ever bought.

Look at the upcoming release list of the PS3 for the next two months: Capcom Arcade, Resident Evil Revelations, Fast & the Furious, Fuse, Grid, Bandfuse, Remember Me, The Last of US, gold edition of Skyrim, Borderlands 2 DLC.

How many of those games are coming to the Vita? None. Instead it gets a HD Collection that few people want, Jack & Dexter.

Look at the types of games that sell well in the West, and they are largely absent on the Vita. Yes, it's cool now to hate on FPSes, especially here, but they sell well. The Vita will be almost 2 before it gets a non half-assed one, and it will be completely overshadowed by the PS4 Killzone.

Where are the open world games? Where are the RPGs? Some Vita owners might be satisfied with Ragnarok Odyssey or Soul Sacrifice, but they pale in comparison to other games on other systems.

I did.

Then someone beat me.

And I can't touch the time. :P

Soul Sacrifice pales in comparison to nothing (for me at least).

It makes me sad that FFX will probably the best release from Square Enix in the past 6 years.

FFXIII already has that on lockdown. :P

I'm willing to give FFX and FFX-2 another spin, but if my current opinions of the game hold up, it's clear they won't be coming close to the amount of awesome that was packed in to XIII in the form of the battle system.

Also a portable Final Fantasy X and X-2 (even if they're on PS2/PS3).

Aw yissss.

Ah, so I can experience the beginning of the decline of Final Fantasy again?

no thanks :p

I understand this point of view. I understand being disappointed in the lineup we've had. I wish it were better. I wish there were more big original games, AND more multiplatform console games. It's just...I love the lineup we have. I have almost SIXTY games. There's almost NO shovelware on the thing. I've never wanted to play games on a device more than on the Vita. Ever. I simply enjoy every minute of using the thing.

That being said, yeah, we could use way more games. I feel like some of us Vitabros (and you Vitabros KNOW I'm a long-time Vitabro) get too defensive about the lineup, when it's obvious that things could be much better. I don't like JRPGs, but I wish there were more because I know a lot of people do. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I wish there were more. We need more quality FPS's. It's an absolute SHAME there aren't more. Killzone: Mercenary looks great, but it's just not even fair that this beast will only have one quality (we assume quality) FPS in a period of two years. Finally, we NEED Sony to put more first-party muscle into it. We need Infamous, God of War, LocoRoco, Patapon, Gran Turismo, Puppeteer, etc. I don't care if a lot of those aren't "system sellers" (such a dumb term); we need the world to see that Sony cares about the system and invests in it. Good bonus for us would be getting all of these high quality games.

You know, I work at Walmart, and about a month ago the one I worked at got rid of all it's Vita games. It bummed me out majorly. I didn't get TOO concerned, though, because the other one close to me still had theirs and it was a bigger and better selection. Well, I went there yesterday and found that they too had gotten rid of their entire Vita game section. This depresses me. I've never seen it done on a major platform, and I DON'T know how Sony is going to turn this around. What I will till you WON'T work, though, is Sony sitting on their laurels. Jak & Daxter Collection is fine, bring it on. I will play it. But for gosh's sake, DON'T MAKE THAT YOUR SUMMER LINEUP!

Basically, what I'm saying is, I'm concerned about the Vita because it needs better support, even [arguably, especially] from the company that created it, but also not concerned, because I've enjoyed every second on this system and have joy playing it.

All I know is, I recently got the Vita as well as PS + and I have months of content to go through. I really love this device.

I'll agree with you about FFX being the decline of the Final Fantasy series. And while I didn't really like the 15-20 hour linear story (it brought back flashbacks of my disappointment with FFX), I liked some of the characters in FFXIII more than I have in any FF since VII/VIII/IX (save Lulu in X and Fran in XII) and the battle system was just ridiculously awesome if you got into it and decided to finish all the missions. I spent 100+ hours on it while I had to force myself to finish X or XII.

But hey man, it's opinions. Y'know how those work.
But we can hi-five about our disdain for FFX. ;)

Bought FFT: WotL on my Vita so I can finish all the multiplayer missions I missed out on the first time around. PSP+Vita Dual Screen Multiplayer Heaven Dragon Sword Action.

Haha, I'm just teasin' ya. You know, to be completely honest, I probably hated FFXIII less than most -- I think that's a diplomatic way of putting it, lol. The battle system I felt didn't live up to its potential because of the frequently poor encounter design and difficulty curve, but it was a pretty good system.

Honestly its tough for me to be negative about the Vita on a personal level, there is currently allot on it, and coming that I personally really love. I am a huge fan of the Oddworld games and once Munch is released I will have the whole series so far on one console(with new and tasty added later), I have almost every Final Fantasy game worth having on one device, and the same goes for Metal Gear. Thats three of my favorite gaming franchises of all time almost completely available on one handheld.

I have sunk a ton of time into games likr Soul Sacrifice, Mortal Kombat, LittleBigPlanet,Wipeout, Rayman,Dead or Alive, and a few others, this is without even starting P4G yet, and having games like Ys, Killzone, Tareaway, and Valhalla Knights 3 coming pretty soon.

The indie tsunami coming only makes it that much better because I love allot of what is coming out of the inde scene these days. Games like Terraria,Spelunky, and Rainbow moon will keep me busy for a healthy amount of time all by themselves, and then if Sony can snag something like a full featured Minecraft it will be even better. Its always kind of sad to me when people bag on indie games because I feel like people do so because they dont have teh Graphics, or Budgets of the "AAA" guys (even though GAF spends 98% of its time bitching about those same AAA games). I understand people did not buy a Vita for Indies, but I dont understand bitching about games that are coming "because" they are indies.

Sony needs some big hitters to get the ball rolling for Vita, there is no doubt about that. Right now though I am content to be cautiously optimistic about it because we have multiple sources claiming a potentially good/great E3 for the Vita. I hope its true, I dont have any reason to think these people are lying, so it looks like we will see soon.

Woah, is that Ys?

Confirmed for English release already? :O

And refreshing.

Refreshing or not, the Vita can do well with extra games in its lineup, especially the type of games that people like to play/purchase.

Didnt you get the memo? The argument is no longer that the vita has no games. It is that is has no system sellers.

Speaking of. the bloody price for the memory cards is a still a very good excuse for people to not buy Vita.

Depends. If someone went all-physical for their games then wouldn't a $20 4GB card be enough? I'd imagine that people going for the lowest possible prices would be buying physical carts (that they can trade-in or sell later). So for that type of customer, $20 on a memory card is a one-time expense. Or "free" if they buy a bundle.

Now for convenience, the 32GB card is the best choice. Expensive at $80-$100 but if you're buying all-digital then you're already on a different spending tier. For that kind of customer, convenience justifies the extra expense so $80 for a card is a pain but they're already looking to spend hundreds of dollars on digital games that they'll never be able to sell or trade-in.

(This is me. I've spent a lot on digital games. I'm past the point of caring about the $80 I spent on my 32GB card.)

TL;DR: Memory card prices is just a rationalization held by people not interested in the Vita in the first place. Price-sensitive gamers will prefer physical carts anyway and you don't need more than a $20 4GB card to go that route.

Refreshing or not, the Vita can do well with extra games in its lineup, especially the type of games that people like to play/purchase.

Now that's a good reason not to buy a Vita. For many people, the library just isn't interesting enough.

That's exactly how I feel about the 3DS. A handful of games entice me but not enough to buy one (yet). If I had bought a 3DS instead of a Vita I'd be kicking myself now because while a few awesome 3DS games do exist or are coming soon, the Vita's current library is just more interesting to me now.

Ys: Memories of Celceta

PS Vita, Fall 2013 – An extensive reimagining of (and pseudo-sequel to) Ys IV, one of the only Ys games never before released in the west, this title puts more enemies on screen than ever before and features the largest, most non-linear overworld in Ys history, boasting superlative graphics and a triumphant evolution of the fast-paced gameplay that has made this series a timeless action RPG mainstay. As the game opens, long-time protagonist Adol Christin finds himself alone, dazed and confused in a strange land, and must piece together his memories of how he got here and why, all the while struggling to determine whom he can trust.

No. 80% of the retail games I own are physical, yet I have constantly have to shuffle around with my two 16GB cards and 4GB card. You have to remember the large collection of PSN digital-only games on there. I have probably 25-30 PSN games.

Yeah you're right about that. I never took the PSN-only games into account.

In my case, a 32GB card isn't enough for the games I own. Although if I went physical-only (with a 4GB card) then I'd imagine I'd be still be in same boat I am now (always transferring stuff to my PC before I download a new game).

I think my point still stands though, that some people wouldn't buy the Vita anyway even if the memory was cheap. But I stand corrected on thinking that 4GB is "enough" for an all or mostly physical library. It's doable if you have a PC or PS3 to transfer to but as you point out it's not convenient at all.
