I said holyyy shiiiit out loud @ the wooden cock line, and then refusing to bed the Stark girl. Tyrion is the fucking MAN. I want to see things escalate between him and Joffrey but it was probably just a one-off moment I imagine.
Also the fat guy is such an idiot, to the point where it's hard to take the end scene seriously at all. It seems the knife is special in that maybe it's the only thing that kills the blue eyed monsters, but it's fine if he doesn't know that it's just why would you leave behind your only weapon. Seriously there's no way that's believable, it doesn't matter how scared you are, leaving behind your only weapon (and one that disintegrates enemies no less) when you can take 2 seconds to pick it up is surely scarier no?
They should have had other monsters or some other danger at that area nearby or something to make the scene somewhat believable, like he had to leave at that moment or they'd die. Or maybe the knife got stuck in something when it fell, he tried to pull it out and couldn't so they just ran. Weak alternatives sure but it's better than nothing.
Still hate Daenery's, the only thing that would make me like her is for her to realize she isn't entitled to shit just by being born to a certain family or name. She's basically a Lannister but without the medieval torture porn fantasies. Everything else; ego maniac, delusions of royalty, power hungry, slave employing etc. is there.
But man I'm still reeling over Tyrion's threat, the silence was deafening. Also disappointed that Arya's story just seems to be dragging itself along. She's my favorite character, I want to see her back at the center stage of things planning her revenge type shit, but every episode she's just walking around talking to some losers in a forest. She can still carry scenes on her own so it's not boring I just want to see more of her.
I still don't know what is going on with Lord Pycelle. Did I miss something? Also, The Hound spoke about The Mountain in past tense. Did I miss something with him, too? If it's a spoiler, then feel free to PM me, but both characters are non-existent in season 3.

Grandmaester Pycelle was at the wedding tonight and the small council scene a few weeks back. Nothing noteworthy tho
Maybe he meant Petyr Baelish (aka Lord Baelish, aka Littlefinger). lol
Yeah, you are wrong. The Unsullied are better.Damn. I must have looked away or blinked to have missed it. He once was one of the key members that turned the gears of deceit behind the scenes.
Also, outside of the dragons, I'm a bit bored of Dany's story. Her and Cersei are one-in-the-same; the difference is that Cersei is often put in her place by people with more power in Westeros, while Dany is free of much resistance in Essos. In the end, I don't want Dany on the Iron Throne. I was a bigger fan of Khal Drogo than I'm over her rule. In addition, am I wrong to believe that that the Dothraki are better on the battlefield than the Unsullied, along with instilling more fear?
Nope, I meant what I wrote.
Yeah, you are wrong. The Unsullied are better.
The Unsullied are better soldiers, but they don't enslave you, rape your women and burn your city when they beat you. From what I know, the slave cities fear the Dothraki the most. The dude from two episodes ago didn't even flinch when Dany mentioned she had Unsullied. The Second Sons or whatever didn't care much either, choosing to infiltrate at night under a disguise. I have a hard time believing that this dude could have done the same to Khal Drogo.

I want the magic red lady to go away. I like this show with just a little bit of fantasy, not too much. The mysterious nature of the shape shifter guy was cool, but the talk of 'true' god's, sacrifices, people coming back from the dead, giving birth to smoke monster etc. doesn't interest me at all.

Who do you think keep the Dothraki out of the slave cities?
Question: But why is ruling Westeros more desirable than Essos?
The television side of A Song of Ice and Fire may not explore too much more on the Dothraki, but I do find them more compelling than the Unsullied.
So here's what I can gather from looking at maps and watching the season 1-2 bonus videos. Essos (I assume that's the east continent) is either long stretching grass lands, long stretching deserts, long stretching waste land (Old Valyria where the Dragons come from was destroyed by some cataclysmic event at the height of their civilization) or a bunch of individual kingdoms around oasises here and there. I don't think it has the same value as Westeros? I also think it would be like Germany trying to conquer Russia (too vast - except instead of too cold, too hot)
Question: But why is ruling Westeros more desirable than Essos?
Land fertility, I guess. People can live comfortably in Essos, but I get the feeling the topography and ecosystems are a lot more unfriendly to human habitation. You've got massive stretches of desert, more isolated cities, and so on.
With the exception of beyond the wall, Westeros is ripe for agriculture, farming, and tight habitation.
I still don't get this. Why are there so many people who can stomach dragons and fucking ice demons but then a witch is too crazy?
Well that's a good question, is winter coming to Westeros or is it coming to the world?
EDIT - Is that map the world or the equivalent of England and Western Europe?
the grasslands of the Dothraki Sea are basically the Great Plains of the USA. They'd certainly be very agriculturally-friendly if it wasn't for the hundreds of thousands of murderous Dothraki roaming about killing everyone.
Not entirely sure. Winter is coming was a tagline for season 1, but I don't see them talking much about it anymore for promotional items. Sure, the viewers and the crows know about the White Walkers, but I have no clue what their intentions are. I'm guessing a good portion of the viewers don't know the difference between a White Walker and a wight. The wildlings are fleeing south, so perhaps 'winter is still coming', but the theme isn't as talked about as it once eluded to in season one.
the Dothraki have horses and arrows. That's an autowin right thereYeah, you are wrong. The Unsullied are better.
Dany's army keeps growing, now it's 8000 Unsullied, 2000 Sellswords, and 3 toddler dragons.
Fuck, reading this thread is so confusing for me most of the time. I love this show, but I just cant keep up with all the names!!
Arya, Daneyries, Tyrion and Sansa are ones I remember on a good day, doubt I spell any of them right though. Then of course are the easy names like Joffrey and Rob stark or John Snow. There is a few others I remember as well, but most of them are just 'joffreys cranky mom', or 'The smiley chick who will marry Joffrey', or 'Old Lannister hand of the king guy'.
Perhaps its time I just spent some time on imdb reading all of there names and beating it into my head, haha.
Check out HBO's viewer's guide site. They have family trees and all that stuff.

After the last couple of episodes, HBO decided to rename this to 'Blue Balls: The Show'
Its not going to spoil anything is it? its HBOs, so I would assume it wouldnt.
Thanks for the link!
I wasn't the only one then.Stannis: "I never asked for this"
Dennis: lul
Yep, two characters who make me grind my teeth whenever they're onscreen. Both actors have nailed that smug, a-hole behavior to a tee. Two characters I love to hate.
Dany is building herself quite the army also. They had me because the character who's name is escaping me now looked a lot buffer at their meeting with Dany than when he did entering the encampment.
Also, it's not like I forgot how hot she is but damn Dany looks so good in the nudeI felt so bad for Tyrion when Joffrey took away the little step stool and making a mockery of him on his wedding day. The look on Shae's face when she realized nothing happened between him and Sansa was pretty cool too.
And Sam.... ohhh Sam. Dropping the one weapon that destroyed the Walker and running off without going back and reclaiming it. You damn fool *shakes fist*
God, I'm going to miss this show when the season ends...

Plus if you look at the official map, and the opening, the snow/permafrost extended for hundreds of miles past the wall, in the show, the snow ends like 100 feet from the wall.
I also wonder when Winter is Coming... I think they probably delayed it because its ten time harder to shoot in the snow or blizzard conditions than the beautiful Northern Ireland countryside.
She's a fourteen year old who's been forced to marry the dwarf son of the family who's held her hostage and cut off her father's head. I don't think you can blame her for not going "Yeah, let's try and make this work!"Tyrion is the best character there. Sansa was a big fucking asshole when she said she might never want Tyrion to share her bed.
