I expect nothing more.
nothing more !

Someone ought to explain to me the way you play with all those TF, because I still don't know how. Give us load of games, illumiRoom and augmented reality and make the the console affordable. Specs talk, already the obsession of a frange of zealots (and an even smaller cast of genuinely interested tech enthusiasts) will soon fade away.

No subsidized model now? So does that mean this thing is just a straight 500.00?
I wonder if theyll talk price at all. Seems early for that.

I really could not give a shit about a tech discussion. Probably the worst thing Sony ever did to the industry was make gamers obsess over transistor counts. Would much much much rather they spend that 15 minutes talking about features and services.

That definitely makes me think 'Maybe those Sony rootkits and the hack and linux/gone weren't so bad after all, because OH GOD TRANSISTORS'.

Probably makes sense to shelve the subsidised model for now, they will sell their launch allocation at full price, it's next year when they aren't supply contained that it could really make a difference.

I can see illumiroom happening in the same way we had all the BS about item scanning and content creation last gen, its not ready to ship any time soon.

Agreed. It's best to get all the tech talk over and done with, letting people argue about specs for a few weeks and then make it all about the games starting with E3.

Honestly, I'm hoping they just reference a spec document on Xbox.com or something and just get right to what matters with services, games, and other content that makes up their vision. I'd love to see what Lift London and LA Studio are working on in addition to a couple of reveals from their more traditional studios like Turn 10, Rare, Lionhead, 343i, etc.

Yea, tech does not matter! ...

The tech dictates what kinds of games developers can make, how they play and how they look. Storage tech, HDD, Blu-Ray or not, Internet

But yes, detailed spec sheet would be cool.

The illumiroom could just be something used for a dramatic stage presents and cool effects for the show. Does not mean that it is part of the new Xbox.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo

Mind fucked with it!

Does that illumini Room video so old then? Does live gone gaga and is free now?
Or it's just MSFT on short pants doing some weird stuff?

Those would be both surprising... I'm still skeptical on illumiroom becoming a real product, and the subsidised model looked like a smart and not too hard thing to do...

I agree. Illumiroom would be the equivalent of power glove. Intriguing, yet not affordable or providing a game changing experience. They had better not spend too much time on it.

I agree with you on the subsidized model. Maybe they did tweak there always online mechanics with he outcry to the point they could no longer make it a doorstop when payment was not made.

Was just reminded of Too Human, loved that game. It had its weak points but I loved the combat and coop was really fun. Technical problems screwed that game over. I don't think we'll ever see a sequel though.

Alan Wake 2 with that thing. the shadows... the clouds...

I'm really interested how they are going about the install for the consumer. Looks very complicated with a projector and a Kinect taped together etc.

I guess they design a new device for it. But where do we put it with all the cables and shit? I mean Kinect was already difficult to install for some, Illumiroom looks even more complicated.

I dunno, I just don't see the mainstream appeal. Looks very niche TBH.

I had a dream of the start of the presentation:

They open with a kineck RPG game, it was the overview of the world map, and the you hear the voice of a kid, they show grass, desert and a castle surrounded by water, then the kid said, you can copy part of the desert and place it on the water to reach the castle, then he said "with copy-paste you win", that was the end of the demo, XD noone applauded.

Then you hear the announcement presenting the next guess, you hear "people call me crazy", it was the joker`s voice, but it was to announce the director of Rocksteady Studio, I was "shit got real", then I wake up.

but wait
wasn't this the same guy that broke the subsidized rumor in the first place?

I dont know if he broke it but he did acknowledge it existed. He also said that an online connection was required to use Durango. Both of those look to be false now sooooo...

Though I wonder, wasnt there some speculation that a persistent connection was required because of the subsidized model? If they ditched the "online required", it makes sense that theyd ditch the subsidized model too. We'll never know for sure though.
