Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Collector's Edition revealed, releasing August 27th

I can't just re-sub my XIV account and play this right? I'd have to go buy the box?

Still hoping to get into a beta at some point so I can at least see if the game plays any better than it did before.

I got 1.0 but never got a chance to register it. Can I use that code or do I need to buy this again?

Players Who Own FFXIV Version 1.0
Players who own FFXIV version 1.0 will not need to purchase the PC version of FFXIV: ARR and will be able to download the FFXIV: ARR software for free.
* Details on downloading the FFXIV: ARR software will be provided at a later date.

Furthermore, users who have version 1.0 registration codes that have not yet been registered will be able to register them and play FFXIV: ARR on PC at the start of the service

No reason to rush it. There will be updates and expansions. I didn't even start XI until the 3rd expansion, and I played for 5 years still.
It's a long time since I've serious time on games of this type but you're right, it'll keep changing and hopefully improving as it moves along.

It'll be interesting to see how it holds up on the PS3 and I wonder if there will be an option to just carry on with your characters on the almost inevitable PS4 if people upgrade at some point. It'll probably be better suited on the PS4 but I suppose they'll want to see sales figures before they commit to a third platform.

i dont trust this dev anymore (i bought the first ff14 and ff13 and detested both)

but im going to buy it for that art book

argh

please dont just be a bunch of screentshots and renders of hair

Ah ok good to know. Still want to get into the beta, but if that doesn't happen then I'll re-sub for at least one month to check it out when it goes live.

I wonder if there's a way for newcomers to be a Legacy member.

likely not Legacy was for people that stayed with the game tho it was bad

Dude Believe in Yoshi-P I hated this game most of 1.0 when he took over the game changed for the absloute best.

I'm sure you could. On XI you could switch between PC, PS2 and 360 with the same log-in info.

i'm glad i can play right away with the CE benefits with my legacy account since i'll probably have to wait a couple of weeks for the physical ce to arrive in the mail.

Don't lie you liked the abuse.

Naw I only came back just before the Job system and AF's came out. But paid for legecy just before the last hour of eligibility.

You should be as long as you have your Disc and know what you log in info is

PS3 version still looks super bad, I was considering getting that version as I already got the PC one (thanks Pan!), but ouch.

Are you referring to the PS3 box art being bad or the game itself? Are the console graphics crap? Would appreciate a link if possible. Was considering coming back on PS3 but if it's junk...

HAAAIIII guys remember that extra dlc they gave us for buying FF13 on the PS3 and said the dlc would be usable for the PS3 version of 14?.....Was it anything useful?

It was confirmed a while ago.

I see. So we get the game for free (which I would flippin expect, considering I spent $85 on the original CE) but do we get the free 30 days that usually comes with buying the game? Or would be technically need to sub to even try out the game again.

This is the first time a game I've been looking forward to is actually coming out on my birthday! Now to decide whether I should go for the PS3 or the PC version.

Not sure about that. I actually don't follow info on FFXIV.

Wow, that beats the SHIT out of the original 1.0 CE I bought waaaay back in 2010. Equally huge box, though.

Pre-ordered, because I'm weak.

70 bucks for that package actually isn't a terrible deal. Still getting regular if I do end up playing it. We'll see.

Good thing I already own 1.0... I just have to pay that monthly fee!

This is actually the only PC game I plan on buying for a very very long time.

You will get the 30 day free trial as well everyone does.

They have different stores for different regions. I am not sure where you are but they have stores for Europe, Asia, NA.

Here is Europe Store
https://store.eu.square-enix.com/emea_europe/#.UZ5dS5yBa1t

not sure what the Asia address is though.

Yeah I saw the different regions, but Im actually in South America so there is no region option for me. :( Thats why Im hoping they ship to other parts of the world. I will try and send them an email I guess.

Thanks for the help anyway. :)
