because most of the "shit you hear lately" are lies and half truths. Read the thread, watch the Wired youtube test video.
In this case perhaps but the rest of the aftermath sadly is not lies. It's MS confusing themselves and everyone else.
All things are official sources, especially when they support the current mindthink at gaf. Only in this environment can IGN and Kotaku be completely trusted.
right, because I'm assuming that once it's doing a function, it listens for more commands for a set period of time without having to say "Xbox" again. This will make it much less annoying.

Yup definitely way slower. Still a bit faster than current Kinect, which is good.
The stuff with the clicker doesn't make any sense though, since he has his hands out many times when making gestures. That he stops saying Xbox for certain commands could be a hint, but maybe it just enters a "listen" mode after you say it once for a while.
Still the one switch from TV to movie was definitely too fast, it almost blended together. All the other times it took longer.
So probably still staged and will be slower in real life and maybe doesn't work as well with certain accents, but still a noticeably improvement over Kinect 1.

It looks fine. A slight delay after he pulls the hands apart, then the gif runs backwards. Thats why it looks like it is going back before his motion.

yes but as usual (on GAF) everyone is focused on it playing backwards as a sign that the demo was faked.
I have no doubt they 'phoned in' some parts of the demos but the voice activation and kinect gestures don't seem to be part of that.
A number of sites have already posted the back room private demos showing how faster Kinect is and how much better it is at voice recognition, there is nothing to believe what was shown on stage was overly faked.
It's obvious it was staged, sometimes he wasn't saying xbox before the voice commands. I mean they are pimping that their Kinect is so much better than before but I doubt it can detect sounds perfectly in a tent filled with hundreds of people. It was also probably a way to prevent someone from screaming Xbox turns Off or other commands too and to prevent the guy presenting from shutting it down or bringing up a feature by accident.
It would perhaps be more controversial if it weren't for the fact that you can go to your current Xbox and use the voice commands much in the same way right now..
MS did a clumsy job doing a presentation, and they were playing it safe to avoid a hiccup. But again; it's not like you haven't had the ability to do these types of voice commands on the 360 for years. What these guys did or did not do at the presentation doesn't change the fact that the 360 and the Xbone does voice commands pretty damn good. So can anyone tell me what this thread is really about, because I don't get it.

demo was as fake as that chinese girl who sang the national anthem during the beijing olympics opening. Naive people thought it was real and that that was what they will get when they hook up their xbone. Thread lets people know it wasn't real.

I actually cringed when watching this part of the reveal because it was obviously faked to me but at the same time it makes you realise just how dumb and gullible big corporations think the masses are.

Watch, after E3 exclusive reveal how everyone goes all "Straight into my veins XBAWX !" .. I admit the presentation had basically fuck all to do with games hence the anger (I was a little surprised too). But it was clearly stated this was a hardware and feature set conference. The always online shit just needs to get clarified, and the used games fee looks like it will only affect the retailer.

Used game fee affects everybody, the always online shit is clear as daylight. Look, this isn't some GAF conspiracy. They fucked up in several important ways AND were light on content. Of course most people keep an open mind for E3, but don't delude yourself into thinking there's some conspiracy culture here. This board turns on ALL companies equally. Not from what i have seen. I have only been a member here for a few months but its obvious to me that GAF as a whole is more pro Sony than Microsoft. If Sony do happen to do the same anti consumer decisions as Microsoft with the PS4 then i'd bet anything that the backlash won't be anywhere close to this 'crusade' that has been dealt against Microsoft, in fact i wouldn't be at all suprised if people still blame Microsoft and say Sony are only doing it because Microsoft have forced them to or some shite like that.
As for Nintendo, i was banned for making a simple joke against the WiiU, i won't make that mistake again!.
It's certainly functional, but it seems like, during all those industrious days and nights, they never asked themselves a in my mind pertinent question: who would use these functionalities after that short period of playfully fooling around and novelty is over, and not reflect and change their way of life?
Funnily, we still know very few things about the Xbone's hardware feature set, especially as it relates to gaming: Enlarging video feeds and switching inputs really isn't compelling stuff.

You must have missed Vita launch. Also you must have missed the Wii U launch.
Right, I'm sure Gamestop's shareholders will be happy to eat that cost and won't even entertain the idea of foisting it onto clueless consumers.
Also, there's no telling what the effects may or may not be for private sales. Because Microsoft literally isn't telling.

Eh, Move demos were live at E3 (that's why they didn't work super well), just watch the WonderBook stuff.
