Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

Managed to -barely- get 16 hand washes in one round at like round 10 in Men's Room, with 2 seconds left.

Now I have to do 18, this game makes me want to rip my hair out :(

funnily enough, I'm on my way to the UK from the US to live for the next 6 months on Monday and I thought the Vita was region specific?

The accounts (linked to a memory card) are region specific, which matters for DLCs or digital download in general. Games are not, you can play any game in the world on any Vita in the world.

Sony should fix the Vita store.
Not all of the PS+ offerings are listed in the PS+ section.
In the demo section are titles where no demo is available. And all over the store are title where demos are available but not listed in the demo section.
It really is a mess.

PSM is soooo bad :(. I have to redownload every single one of my games to get them to work on my new Vita.

Regular Vita games work just fine :(

And now I can't play the redownloaded ones on my old Vita. PSM DRM is XBone bad.

Supposedly PSM works on 3 devices, which is actually one more than PSP/Vita games now. But yeah, the DRM can be annoying, it gets Jasper a lot, he doesn't have a great internet connection.

I am starting to think that means 1 Vita, 1 Phone, 1 Tablet. It worked fine before when it was just my one Vita and a tablet. I am going to talk to Sony about it on Tuesday.

Edit: Ok so I deactivated PSM on my old Vita and still it forces a redownload. PSM sooooooo dumb.

I really wish there were dungeon-crawling RPGs such as Diablo and Torchlight on the Vita. Why can't Silent Hill Book of Memories go on sale? :/

Usually it's the women's room with the bloodbath. :p

I was talking about the hardware... don't give up hope Takao ;(

I already have. Square Enix won't even port Final Fantasy Type-0 to Vita, so they definitely won't make exclusive high quality games for the machine. KojiPro won't bother with an exclusive (timed or otherwise) Metal Gear for it either.

Is the Vita version of Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend any good?
I was looking for something like Persona 4 Arena to play on Vita and that probably seems like the closest thing.
Also the Amazon page for it says that it includes the original game's story but I looked on the PSN store and it just said it's a recap, does anyone know what that actually entails?

The Vita version is very good.

The original game's story isn't there in full, but it isn't only a recap either. It's basically a very short story mode that just covers the 1st game's story. I think it was only like 15 fights long or something.

I started playing Knytt Underground. The backgrounds are really pretty. But... do you basically just run around and find a person, click through their horrible dialogue, find the thing, return, rinse, repeat the entire game? Because that's certainly what it seems like.

When you hit chapter 3 the map opens up and it's huge. HUGE. It's and exploratory game, there's no combar but some of the platforming is really challenging.

It's a weird game, later on one of the characters curses a lot.

The mech thread reminded me to be angry about all the PSP mech games being absent from EU PSN.

I liked BBCSE for its story mode, basically like a visual novel with the occasional fight in it.

Hm, I've been thinking about getting a PS3 because I already have PS+ for the Vita and that would mean more games for the money but PS3s are still kinda pricey. The 12GB model seems utterly useless considering single games can be bigger than that. Any other Vita-only users contemplating that?

I'm in the same situation as well. Waiting for a price cut.

It'll be free for NA PS+ next week if you're interested.

Is there a way to connect the Vita YouTube app to the PS3 one, similar to smartphones? I have no way to watch playlists on the PS3 app and would love to use the Vita app as a means to watch them.

Also, what's with the slowdown on the Vita OS. I used my Vita for the first time in months and updated only to get random freezes and frame drops in the OS. What's the deal with that?

Finished Sly 4.
If I had to describe the game with one word it would be "mundane". I felt like the gameplay never really took off. Like they are constantly introducing gameplay elements but never flesh out any of them. Also they felt the need to tutorialize every single one of them so you are getting (boring as fuck) tutorials throughout the whole game.
Murray and Bentley are NOT fun to play as.
Tons of bad mini games too. Some of them have motion controls and they almost made me throw my Vita at a wall.
Final boss fight is a QTE.

I don't think I would have gotten through the game had I not watched Seinfeld at the same time. What a drag that game was.

Concerning Velocity Ultra

I'm trying to "perfect" every level before going ahead.
I reached Area 18 and I can get gold, I can get all the request (I mean the flags near to the final list) but I cannot perfect it.

Why?
Is there a general rule when you just reached all the requested conditions'

Thanks.

You can't die?

How hard is Rayman Origins' platinum? I feel like I'm breaking my Vita over the time trials.

Also this is probably the best 2D platformer right next to Mario.

You can't get hit at all.

You have to kill pretty much every enemy and pick up the bonus too

It's not ridiculously hard. The final secret level is a bastard, and you finding the relics is a little annoying, but nothing i would class as hard.

I forgot about the time trials. They're probably the hardest part.

I didn't find it too bad personally (I've 100%'ed it 3 times now, Vita, PS3 and Xbox 360 as of yesterday as I love the game so much!) and mostly its pretty easy trophies wise. The only ones that I struggled with are the time trials right at the end of the game (the two levels in the final world are a pain in the ass to rush through). The last secret level and boss are tough going initially as well but once you get the patterns down you should be able to clear them with a bit of trial and error.

That yu-nama game (no heroes allowed spinoff) is pretty good. The screens are in Japanese but the game has English; don't know why they didn't bother making localized screens because it might stop some people from buying it.

Between that, rymdcapsel etc psm is getting a second wind.

Vitabros please make a prayer for ff agito on vita :(
Or even better someone ask kaz and shahid about agito!

I don't understand playing a game if it is a chore and not fun but thanks for the warnings about it. Unfortunate to hear how it turned out - especially a final boss QTE fest? Ick...\

EDIT: Carl - your changed avatar has so much wrong with it now... lol :)

Yeah I almost didn't buy it because of the screens, then I read the description.

Passing Time is good also.

I was wondering if that was a No Heroes Allowed type game... and if it was in english. So double thanks for your post :)

Rymdkapsel was so, so good. Im sad it's so short though. After you complete the 3 objectives there's basically nothing to do. I mean I guess I can try to eek out another wave or two but the difficulty ramp is so extreme that the idea of even getting 5 more waves (i got to 31) seems crazy... and not worth the effort.

If it had some sort of 'random' mode where the ore and monoliths were in different spots so you always had to come up with a new building strategy that would keep me occupied for weeks.

But even as it was, that was an amazing couple days. And after some time has passed I'm sure I'll go back and bang through it again.
