Eurogamer Portugal (biggest Portuguese gaming site which attracts a fair share of Brazilians as well) is reporting on this as well: http://www.eurogamer.pt/articles/2013-05-27-fas-da-ps4-unem-se-para-combater-o-drm-nos-jogos-usados

Tip to those pressuring Sony on used games: these changes are happening due to third parties. EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc. They want this.
So while Microsoft deserves flack for having wishy washy answers, know the real reason it's happening is because of other companies.

Positively rewarding people has always been a better tactic then enforcing awful DRM strategies. It's why Steam works as well as it does.
Imagine if anytime you bought a game new you got a code to link it to your account (allowing you and only you to install 'n play without the disc) as well as a trophy for buying new? The disc behaves as it always has, but you as a consumer are given an extra reward.
What I'm hoping is that they find creative ways to help with the problem. Considering the following:
1. A system-level achievement for every game you buy "new".
2. An opportunity for gamers who buy a used version to "support the developer" by buying unique avatars, wallpapers, and so on with funds that go directly to the developer and also earn the player a system-level achievement.
In other words, instead of burdening used games with DRM, positively reward behavior that supports developers.
Wow passion really is a thing with Sony employees.
Official Playstation site in Finland just tweeted in Finnish "Most passionate fans ever!".
Did they just used the #ps4nodrm hashtag?
He is right. Btw what is his response to this "campaign"?

Good thing EULAs mean fuck all.

Just ignore Cliffy as well. Let's not turn this thread into hating on one or two individuals for their ignorant comments.
Focus on the topic at hand, #PS4NoDRM #PS4USEDGAMES
Sony employees are responding positively (which may mean nothing of course) and that means far more than some ignorant comments from certain individuals.
Yep they can right anything they like in EULA, means bugger all in fact of law.Good thing EULAs mean fuck all.

So my Twitter account just got suspended because of spam? Is it automated or did someone report me? I just created it yesterday and made 4 tweets.
Only Koller and Yoshida got two messages (1 personal, 1 gofreak). I thanked famousmortimer and also used gofreaks publisher tweet.
Obviously third parties want this but I think he is understating how much it would benefit Sony and MS as well.
But the point of this, obviously, isn't that we don't know why. It's that we don't care why. We don't like it.
On the good side, you have this from indie devs.Cue, 553243 Cliffy quotes. Let's keep going with the positive and focus on the matter that something to gamers.

What are you waiting for? Retweet the heck out of the Playstation Finland tweet!
I believe his point with that statement was that putting pressure only on MS and Sony is a bit misguided and some of the heat should also be applied to the publishers.
I like Patrick alot
That said.
FUCK THAT.
It's on Sony to make sure that publisher's are not shitting up their platform with bullshit like this.
If Sony allows it on a publisher by publisher basis it's as bad as the alleged XB1 situation in my eyes.
AKA never touching the console EVER.
I would argue that we can't really pressure publishers all that much. I mean we can say all we want to them but their stance will only ever be "We don't make the guidelines for the consoles."
It's pretty much why this pressure needs to be put on console makers. If publishers are pushing them to do this we have to push back. They are the ones that actually make the decisions.

Right? "Oh, EULA policies are already kind of crappy. Guess we can't fight new crappy policies!" That's how we've been steamrolled over and over already.Oh Cliffy.
I think that's kind of what we are all fighting for now (defining our rights when buying the physical version of something).
