Bingo. Gotta be able to point to something to justify higher valuationIt was released not for the fans but for the investors, few years down the line Microsoft acquired them.
Was the creation of a new Elder Scrolls game ever in doubt? Nobody would let an IP like that die.Not a big Bethesda or Todd fan.
But to me this announcement always read like: "We are working on other shit right now, but yes, at some point in the future we'll make another TES. Now stop fucking asking".

Lmao, what are they milking exactly?Nah. Haven't in a long ass time
More milking is what they're good at
More Skyrim. You wanna tell me what they're doing is normal all those years? Come on nowLmao, what are they milking exactly?
The fans always wanted Skyrim new releases on new platforms.
Just like how you see PS fans begging for PS3 ports. They want to play it in their new system.
So what exactly besides skyrim have they 'milked' ???
There is clearly a point where more time doesn't help them, or any studio in general. Starfield is the prime example of that.Bethesda aren't a 2 game studio, at least they weren't back in 2018. The 5 years post this trailer were spent on Starfield and now they are full production on ES6. I'm not surprised it's taken this long to be honest, the expectations are so sky high that they need to cook this beast for as loooooong as possible.
We don't need to imagine that lol.Imagine the backlash if Neil
Neil never sat on a trailer for 7+ yearsWe don't need to imagine that lol.
Never stopped believing.
Considering the state of modern US devs, they probably think it's the gamers and customers who are wrong and didn't get "the greatness".Tinfoil hat theory: They legitimately thought they struck gold with Starfield, but the overwhelmingly negative reception rocked them to their core and they've been scrambling to course correct ever since.
