Microsoft chose their bed and now they are sleeping peacefully in it with earmuffs. Note that they had negative backlash before the console unveiling and still went on with it. They are a lost cause.
are we playing golf or baseball
Edit: "If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards...Checkmate."
But physical copies of PC games aren't DRM-free either. Most of the time there is no difference between digital and physical copy because they have to be activated on the same DRM system.I'm so sick of this argument...
Digital != to physical, is it so hard to understand?
I like that. DRM shouldn't be used no matter what platform. That is limiting it to one platform. It should just be #noDRM or something like that.
They're well aware of the campaign. I mean they're always connected right? =pI don't think you get what I'm saying. If Microsoft ignores this whole campaign and we still see that DRM, I don't think removing it was ever an option.
Baseball--little kids play tee ball, which is incredibly easy to hit.

@yosp is active now. He hasn't commented though.
Why are we not hearing anything from Sony though. Just the "we hear you" sort of stuff? What are they waiting for? It worries me slightly
I really hope this pans out well...for everyone.
It's easy for some to say "oh I'll just go PC" but fuck that. PC games just don't appeal to me so I'd be fucked ( or rather I'd have to get fucked lololol). Specificly Japan and since they seemingly aren't going to support Nintendo..console gaming would be lacking for me.
So I'm gonna say this now. If Sony Fredo's us...I'm just gonna have to deal.

Let's drop all of this talk of changing our hashtag and target please. The aim of this is to get Sony to change their mind on DRM because we received insider information that they were wavering over their current position having seen the Xbone backlash.
Right now our concern is getting a non-DRM PS4. If Sony go through with our request and get full publisher support then it won't be long before MS fall in line as well.
If one falls then so will the other. Concentrating on Sony who are said to be wavering is the right tactic.

Sony announced the PS4 first, they fumbled over the used games question.
The people saying that they will never buy a console always online and no used games are full of shit.

Well the morning I think has been pretty good from what insight I can bring from traffic to the open letter page.
There have been several visits from SCEE across the morning and early afternoon.
There have been visits from multiple publishers in Europe.
There's even been a visit from SCEA's PS4 launch ad agency.
After lunch I'm going to re-optimise the tweet links for US based contacts, in time for working hours there.

4,000 unique visitors to www.ps4nodrm.com yesterday too, and the website didn't go live until well into the evening.
This is working.

The argument isn't completely invalid.
But I'm not sure if this needs to be discussed in this thread, as it started about the PS4, but on the other hand how the industry handles DRM isn't just about the PS4 and it might be a good idea to extend this to the new Xbox 1 and PC as well.
I like that. DRM shouldn't be used no matter what platform.
But I think the #PS4noDRM already does this as well. It shows that we want the PS4 without DRM. That doesn't imply that DRM on the new Xbox 1 is fine. You could even see this as many have already given up on Microsoft which is even worse for them if people don't even bother to show feedback anymore.

OK ive set it up. http://ps4nodrm.tumblr.com/ anyone wanting to help with it PM me and we can get the ball rolling.
What I think this page should be is a chronicle of all the good arguments and comments about why allowing used games and removing always online DRM Is a good idea. Hopefully, if we can get enough arguments from users on there, It can further stimulate internal discussions between third parties and platform holders.
What I will say though, the best arguements inform, they don't insult. Nobody is going to respond to "your business model is wrong" type comments, nor will they pay attention to console war bulllshit.
Be clear, be concise, be firm. If you are put on the tumblr, your username will be credited and the site you posted it on.
Likewise if you see a good ccomment elsewhere, pm the individual and ask them if they want to be put on the tumblr.
I don't have all the time in the world for this so im looking for as much collaborators on this as possible.

What'll you do if Sony does essentially the same?
