zombie u is great and doesn't matter if it'll go on sale it is more than worth full price
 
Zombie U is down to $38 on amazon. I plan on getting NSMBU eventually, but zombies in London with great usage of the gamepad is too tempting. I have Lego City, MH3, Nintendoland, and a newly acquired copy of Xenoblade Chronicles as well.
 
you guys! these threads! I am seriously thinking of picking up a basic WiiU from Target. They are on sale for $239 right now (and I just won a $100 gift card from work)

Without getting into a lot of detail, if a title does not have off tv play I am not interested in purchasing it at this time. It's why i went with Mario over zombie u.

seems like every game should have a mode that supports this. Its kind of the reason I am thinking about a WiiU

Yes it is. Well I played the 3DS version and the Wii U demo, but if you can look past the ugly enemy design and a few shitty chapters go for it. Better RE game than RE 5.

Dunno about 6, but I'll find out soon enough with the PC version I got.
 
I thought Deus Ex was supposed to be out already? Am I really not gonna touch my Wii U until August for Pikmin 3 (Super Luigi U is NSMBU reskinned to me lol)
 
Well, I was originally going to pass on Revelations, but I really enjoyed that demo, the way it looked and moved, and I can still curl up in bed with a rainstorm outside and knife zombies in the dark. Who says demos don't influence people to buy?

Only change I wish they'd made was using some of the gamepad's motion control to at least fine-tune aiming the Genesis scanner. Doesn't have to go all the way to ZombiU style.

They delayed it for whatever reason.

And the bolded is not an opinion it's just plain false.

This just is not viable for games that use the game pad for fundamental game play. Having off screen game play for such games would effectively remove a key component of the game. This is the case for ZomieU. It actually makes extensive use of the game pad in game.

But seriously, it has all new gameplay and levels. Those are the main thing nsmb offer. Graphics and assets in the series are where least of the efforts go to.

I know. I am buying it. But it's still an old game to me. It's a 2D platformer. I want something new for my Wii U.
 
i'm starting to get the impression that the gaming community's perception of the wii u becoming more positive!

my attitude towards it has certainly improved since the xbox one's launch...
 
I just played Arkham City on my Wii U and felt like a boss when the gamepad integration came to life. Even my wife got giddy watching and listening. This system...THIS SYSTEM!
 
Has Nintendo ever commented publicly about moving to an account-linked system for digital content instead of the the hardware-linked system they currently have in place? This is something I think most don't care about but the biggest reason I haven't got one yet.

The idea of losing all my digital purchases if my system was sold or stolen is not really acceptable to me.

Nintendo said most memory sticks aren't made to be read and written to as much as is required by a game. I have a 350gb Logitech portable HDD hooked up with a Y cable which seems to be working well,

Yeah I just read about that on their website. Thanks guys! Will avoid.

I'm reluctant to buy a HDD just for that, so I'll probably delete stuff for now. TTT2 took the majority of my space. If Luigi U weights less than 2 gigs I'll be safe for...well until they announce a digital only game of value.

I don't think they commented about a desire to do that for now. As time passes I wonder if they'll even attempt it, I guess this sort of things is easier done at the start of a console's life. It's less problematic on Wii U than on 3DS though.

It's not ideal by any stretch, but you contact them and you'll get your stuff. Everything is linked to an account. It's just that the account itself is tied to the hardware.
 
So I think I finally fell in love with my Wii U.

I recently got Super Metroid in that sale, and I can't believe what a fantastic experience VC games are on the Wii U.

Its amazing being able to play on my monitor, then instantly switch to the gamepad to either lay down on my bed or stand up and walk around to stretch my legs. I love the ability to save anywhere too. This is great for me because I'm not very good at games and older games are especially brutal. And don't get me started on how awesome the gamepad buttons and layout is.

After having so much fun with Super Metroid, I decided to get the Kirby games too because of the sale, though I've never played a Kirby game before. I just got done playing some Kirby's Dream Land 3 and had a blast! Kirby is so cute :D

Now I just need Nintendo to release more games and add Full RGB mode (I play on a monitor and colors are washed out).

It was never delayed because it never had a release date. Fucking Amazon and other retailers listed that bullshit may date and got me excited. No one bothered to report the correction.
 
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but could someone add the SNES only for on my avatar? If you have to resize it (make it bigger) for it to work, that's fine.
 
So I saw this tweet tonight and am considering going for it when the sale kicks in. I've read reviews and watched trailers, so I've got a general grasp on how the game plays, but I was wondering if anyone here has played it / has any thoughts to share on Toki Tori 2? I'm not exactly hurting for games to play just yet, but I'd like to support the game if it's really worth the money and time.

I just finished Lego City (100%) today. This game was awesome. A little mad that
I didn't get a T-rex. That should have been the reward for 100%.
I started Trine 2 today. Getting rid of my WiiU backlog one game at a time. 6 games left and I still need to pick up Runner 2, Toki Tori 2, and Injustice.
 
Got the basic system a couple of days ago, along with Mon Hun. To be honest, exceeding my expectations so far. Just general system stuff:

+ White colour is great.
+ Setup was really hassle free. About an hour updating in the beginning and smooth sailing since.
+ Everything is pretty zippy. I was expecting much much worse. The update must have done wonders. I look forward to more optimization.
+ Off-TV display is the best feature by far. I have spent the majority of my time utilizing it. Living room wall is right next to my bedroom, so no issues at all.
+ The different pieces of music playing in the OS and eshop are fantastic. Really catchy stuff.
+ Eshop is easy to navigate.
+ Gamepad feels good, except for a couple of minor issues.
+ Browser is quick and clean.
+ OS feels relatively cohesive with space to grow.

- No club nintendo points for Mon Hun retail version. WTF.
- Right stick and L and R buttons feel weirdly placed.
- Screen is a little low res coming from an ipad.
- Youtube app is useless.

Was going to transfer my Wii VC games over, but I'm not really in any hurry.

Lovely little system right now, definitely getting a Gamecube vibe in a positive way. I don't buy a lot of full games, so even with what's announced now I have a good list for the rest of the year.

I've kind of lost hope at this point, but no word on Lost Winds being transferable, correct?

I've been planning to give my old Wii to a friend for months but that game is still stuck on there.

Nope. We don't usually know until the Monday before if at all before Thursday. Spelunker was supposed to come out today but didn't. Might be a safe bet, and Super Mario Bros. is coming out in Japan next week so it may be a safe bet as well.
 
i'm 7% into lego city.. I've had it since launch but just play around with it once in awhile..I really enjoy it when i do sit down with it for an episode.

I mostly play monster hunter as I've got 90 hours on my file.. I have max dual blades and the full Rathian X set.. HR 7 or something. I haven't played it much the last couple weeks mostly because of work. But the game has a ton of replay and i'm sure i'll play it again soon.

Mario Wii U i've beat already and my son still plays it.

Zombi U i haven't really played yet even though i've owned it since launch.. just booted it up and had a bit of fun but Mario and NintendoLand had most of the play. I seemed pretty good so i'm sure i'll play through it sometime.

Loving the Virtual console.. Just bought Megaman X tonight :) Super Metroid last week! and the other classic like mario world and Kirby ++++

They really need to just add like 10 games a week.. this 2-3 games stuff is pitiful
 
Damn guys.. Just finished playing some Nintendoland with the wife on my new Wii U. This console is fucking great.

off TV play has changed my life.

They haven't responded to anything I sent them. IIRC, the last comment made they was in April 2013 saying that they hope they find the issue. The fuck? How could they not find it in 5-6 months? Seriously. They must not give a shit at all.

I also learnt you can't move over Lost Winds ever if you already did a Wii -> Wii U transfer, assuming they ever fix it. Syncing it over it will erase every Wii DD title already transferred. You'd have to re-buy it to put it on the Wii. So fucking stupid.
