We're at this point where FChamp has to save face of us...

Champ putting EVO over. Says he'd go even if prize was $1. #heartofachampion

You monster.
Champ knows when to be a dick, and when to be e-sports. His popoff on the Injustice community was awesome, and so was his appearance on OBS. Dude knows how to hype the FGC without going Fanatiq on us.

Chris G said winning Evo means NOTHING?! What's he trying to do?!

And F. Champ KNOWS how to talk, he can be a scumbag when he wants, but he's well polished

Champ just explained everything there. EVO almost had a 100K concurrent viewers watching for the MvC3 finals. While that does not directly translate to prize money, it is exposure. Helps to negotiate better contract and also for any sponsored players it adds so much value to you as a player and your sponsor.

Right, the interest needs to be there as well, or at least people who already partially into it, who can follow other people who step it up, whether it's 1 or 20 other guys.

Yeah, that component is massive. Interest in it is huge and it's a really big area that has a lot of dependencies and factors you have to consider. Having folks that want to play is a big thing but how do you get people to get interested in playing it? What does it take to accomplish those tasks? Etc. There are a lot of factors outside one's control that have a huge influence on how things go.

FGC makes it really hard to establish good followings outside of set franchises. It's near impossible, IMO. It's just the reality of the situation and unless something drastic happens to the community as a whole, it'll be like this for quite awhile.

I don't know, man...
Shit ain't looking too good on my end.

I couldn't even attend UFGT9 and I can't make it to CEO2013. Fudge...

Damn. Someone start a kickstarter for KingofSarus to go to Evo.

Just don't let Triforce get near it.

Which kind of FRC tatami combos? I only can go off AC not +R though but the FRC frames are different when in the air and on the ground, where on the ground it's around when the mat becomes vertical and in the air it's near the time her foot almost hits the tatami.

How are you doing your IAD tatamis? I was reading online and there seems to be different ways. I'm still on the edge myself because doing 236956K I can get it sometimes but the hard part is timing the kick, if I do it too early I get super jump tatami and if I do it I get IAD K. I've been trying 956236K really fast and it seems to work fast enough but I notice that true IAD tatami's have a slight downward arc to them, while other iad tatami's still look good enough but don't have that downward arc because it seems to share more of the IAD vertical momentum moving in a straight line, but usually have to look for the difference in the arc to notice (in a real match I probably won't notice). Just wondering because one seems safer and one way seems more efficient but they both can reach the same perfect result if done right. Though mid combos it doesn't seem to matter because both of them can land the hit, but I wonder if the very slight difference would make in the neutral. I can do backward IAD fine though.

I'm also a baiken player that is working on IAD tatamis. I have a decent feel for them in training mode but have a very poor success rate in actual matches. The input i do for the iad tatami is 236956 K and your right with the hard part the timing of the kick. I find that pressing K instantly won't get you the desired results. I put a slight delay in the kick, but if u wait too long you get an IAD K.

Here's a good video showing one of the best baikens in Japan.

The combo at 3:56 is an example of an FRC tatami combo. An FRC tatami combo does a lot more dmg because without a FRC you would have to do P -> S -> Dust which does less.

Champ is a much better public speaker than Chris, it's an objective fact.

Haha, I know Chris is a pretty poor public speaker just from The Break/Next Level, I'm mostly just joking about the Champ > Chris stuff :P

Isn't the Marvel pot going to be over 10k?

That's not worth it?

It depends on the number of entrances. If 1200 people enter then that's 12,000 dollars. They did add some pot bonus to some games last year which is why Marvel was 15k, but I think that was the Cannon's themselves. MK9 and SF4 got money straight from the publishers. But yeah, Marvel should have over 1000+ entrances again for EVO 2K13 and be somewhere over 10k in prize money.

Everyone needs to stop giving Chris the time of the day during this latest cry for attention or we're gonna get some "The Decision" level shit going on before EVO.
