Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | May 2013 | Lovecraftian Wasteland

$15 is a bit steep when Thomas Was Alone which is similar length is $10. I can understand Guacamelee at $15 and even then it had a PS+ discount.

Ouch indeed.

One of the blog posters had the right idea; something like this would be a lot more successful, I think:

$10 cross-buy with PS3.
PS+ discount, like... $7.99 first week.

Sorry I flaked out last night... I'll hit you guys up to run through the Soul Sacrifice DLC tonight if you're around.

Dat generic animu style. It's getting reaaally old.

I'll take animu over bald space marines ANY DAY

Generic animu style ALL OVER MY FACE ANYDAY.

On a separate note, I started Grandia (PSOne) on my US Vita yesterday. Goddamn dat screen, it makes a decades old game look like brand new.

I've never played Grandia, even though I own it for Dreamcast lolol (my backlog spreads across generations). I'll have to pick it up at some point.

It looks like a psp game to me, i really hate multis with 3ds, they are so ugly :(
Why only multis with psp are good looking? :(

Yeah it seems like multis across PSP and Vita can have way better IQ on Vita, the same with 3DS/Vita, although some have been great like Virtue's Last Reward.

Yeah that would have been much better! Already have it on steam, not going to pay £9.99 just to get it on the Vita.

I'm in the same boat but definitely waiting for E3. You never know they might announce a revision or something

Yeah, ever since missing that insane $150 Black Friday deal I refuse to get one higher -- another deal has to come around at some point. This E3 could be very costly for me, as I'm waiting for redesigns / price drops on the PS3 (not comfortable continuing to use my 60gb launch all the time, want it to last as long as possible), Vita, and 360.

Man, $15 for Limbo? I would have understood that price three years ago, but come on. The game is old. Should have been no more than $10.

A well made vita version of virtue last reward would have looked like this with more and better animations :(

Preach it.

That would be Grandia 2 on the DC. I actually only played Grandia 2 back in the days now that you mention it (really good jrpg, would make a terrific HD port to the Vita btw). I got Grandia 1 because from what I hear is even better than the sequel, or at least it was when it came out. It sure looks great on dat oled, so colorful and pretty.

$15 for Limbo Vita probably means it will be around 21 AU here, way way too overpriced considering how many times it's been released and that it came to PS+ for free.

I might have bit on a Vita purchase for $10 though.

I think I'm actually just gonna get LIMBO for PS3 or 360, it's a game I would like to play together with my girlfriend or friends.

Guess, I'll go for Jak & Daxter next month, and then Killzone: Mercenary in September. I'm also leaning toward getting Hotline Miami for Mac instead. So I'll be covered. :)

Is the LIMBO release next week only in US or also in Europe anyway?

I believe it's also coming to Europe next week; can't remember when though.

EDIT: Just found the thread here; it's releasing June 6th:

Wow, is that God Eater 2? Was that ever confirmed for the West?

Preach it.

I'll be the preacher of animu games on Vita then, let me take the pulpit.

Oh derr, you're right about Grandia II on DC. Lolol

I got my Vita a month or so ago and I've been spending way too much time with it. I got PS+ when I got my Vita, so I played Gravity Rush, completed it and I enjoyed it overall. P4G showed up the same day as my Vita, so I started on that once I was done with Gravity Rush and have been loving it (this is my second time playing P4) and I went and bought Hot Shots Golf and have been playing that when I have nothing better to do with my life.

I pre-ordered Ys yesterday, I ordered Sly Cooper off of Amazon, and I'm downloading BlazBlue at the moment. I plan on playing Sly Cooper once I complete P4G, which should be very soon. The Vita has been my favorite gaming machine in the last couple of years and I'm glad I finally went and bought one!

Is there an easy fix for a squeaky face button? I just realized the used Vita I bought has a really squeaky "x" button. It's not a deal-breaker, just kind of annoying. :(

Not really but 9 out of 10 will tell you to wait

well to be fair if there is going to be a price drop soon it will likely be announced at e3....
and e3 is like 3 weeks away, and there is no major releases coming out between now and e3, so he might as well wait a few weeks.

I can't comment on the face buttons - depending on how I press the X button it makes a noise sometimes.

My real complaint was with my L button - it squeaked BAD when I pressed it. I took a screwdriver to the back and loosened the nearest screw - and viola, fixed immediately. The screws were a tad too tight.

Maybe worth looking into.

Is someone working on next month's thread?

im going to assume Grim is. he's pretty stealthy about it.

We should make a Google doc or something of everyone's PSN IDs. I only have a few of you guys on my friends list.

pretty sure there is one - but its hard to keep up to date.

im wutdaheckman if you're looking for more people...feel free to add me anyone. send say ur from vitagaf

I guess it's all four face buttons, so yeah, I don't know, I would assume that means that pad?

You'd have to use your best guess. Squeaky buttons could easily be debri and gunk that has seeped into the face of the system and has landed under the plastic, above the rubber pad. I assume it's not mis-registering buttons so that seems like my best guess.

Get a Q-tip and put some rubbing alcohol on it (just a bit, don't want it soaked) and try to apply it on the sides of the buttons, one at a time. Once you have enough on there, start using that button, a lot, so it goes down in that small gap that I'm talking about. After a few days of doing this, it should solve/alleviate some of the problem.

If its under the rubber pad, then its making contact with the circuit board. It would suggest that the system is missing button presses, or whatever.

if the button is real flimsy and misregistering, its usually the rubber pad underneath has a tear in it.

I've had plenty of PSPs completely taken apart and reassembled (personally) so it's not my first rodeo.

This is a custom job I did

The L and R buttons are completely different beasts, as they aren't completely seated like the face buttons. They float on an extremely flimsy/shoddy pivot point. Yes, unloosening the chassis can fix most issues

It doesn't seem to miss any button presses so I will try that Q-Tip/rubbing alcohol tip. Thanks!

Little GIF running MotoGP Vita.
original video: http://www.alfabetajuega.com/noticia/motogp-13-en-alfabetajuega-tv-n-24203
That's cool. I wish we could get a better sense of how it looked. Still cool that it's coming to Vita, though. Seems to look pretty good from the video.

...MUD: FIM Motocross World Championship was also about motorbikes.

missed that (eyes proplems sorry)

but still... not all motorbike sports equals, Trials are hot, the dirt stuff are cool but MotoGP are not really that hot anymore, even TV channels are dropping it (and getting stuff like GP2).

I wish Limbo was $10, but I am biting when I get the Vita. An extra 5 is not going to stop me from playing it. I haven't played it yet, though.
