Mod Warning
Okay, I know what happens in every single Oreimo thread. There are certain types of posters who are no longer welcome in these threads.

Do NOT reply to this thread if:
- You want to talk about how hot or sexy you think the underaged characters are
- You want to post images or gifs of said characters in compromising positions
- You want to just complain about how moe is ruining anime and have no contribution to the topic of the actual game in question
- You want to debate the pros and cons of incest or pedophilia
- You don't want to talk about this game or have no interest in it

If there is no actual interest in the game itself, or if there is nothing to talk about, it is OKAY to let this thread die. It is NOT okay to derail the thread into the same tired argument of pedo incest over and over when it always strays entirely off topic since there is no nudity or actual incest in Oreimo. It ends up being a meta-argument about anime culture and name calling and stupid moral debates about sexual preferences which have no place in such a game announcement thread.

I don't actually care about the game, so I will probably not be reading this thread. If there is a problem, PM a mod instead of contributing to derails which only end up making it more uncomfortable for everyone else.

Thanks for reading.

I'll hopefully have my PS3 in time for this, so I'm just waiting for it to go up on pre-order. The routes for the first PSP game were great and although I skipped out on the second one, I'm really looking forward to this.

Yep. Pretty much the same deal. Decided to go for the special edition too. :D

I have noooo idea why I thought this was an HD Remaster of the existing PSP games, must have been the HD hidden in the "HappyenD" section of the title. Kind of surprised to see it's a different kind of game, but also somewhat intrigued that they would get out of that visual novel/dating sim-style of game for Oreimo. Makes me wonder how things turn out in this case.

Perhaps this will be slightly more approachable than the previous titles, even for someone with only an Intermediate level grasp on Japanese?

But I thought that's the entire point of Oreimo...

Oh why must you tempt me with special editions? In all honesty though I'll most likely try to get the game...and the special edition if I can swing it

Kinda surprised that old thread wasn't locked way earlier (well, I was guilty too), it was way off topic from almost the very start. Interested in this but there's no chance in hell of an English release, is it? :\

Having read the Mod OP, I do have a genuine question in asking, what is the plot to the series, and what relevance would this game have canonically?

As mentioned briefly before the thread's reset but not elaborated upon, from what I gather there is no romantic relations between siblings, at least not explicitly. Is that correct?

Never happening, but I'd love for this to get localized.
It would be interesting seeing/understanding the story made for the games and compare them with the manga/anime/novel.

Odds are probably between nil and 0. Importing is the only way to go.

What are the chances this "social app" sim will be in any way complex? I'm probably not going to play this game ever, but the concept has interested me every since .Hack's fake message boards.

Well, maybe we will see these kinds of games localized eventually but probably never in an in-store box format. Every season I'm surprised at what gets licensed so I think it would be safe to assume that if the trend continues we would eventually see games like this get licensed for direct download...maybe.

If I've only seen season 1 of the anime do you think I would still be able to play this game and enjoy it? Just wondering if this is one of those games about a show that you need to know the whole story of the actual show to understand it.

So is this a VN at all? Or is it like the Photo "Gravure" modes in Idolm@ster games?

I think you'll be able to pick up the story. Usually games like this usually follow an isolated story line that may or may not have anything to do with the main plot of the show.

What's the actual gamplay? I know it has those IM@S Producer elements, but anything else?

Probably none, if it even has plot elements.

Visual nove/dating sim most likely. Probably an HD veriosn of the psp games, hence the H and the D in happyend being in caps.

Also yay for mod regulation. Last thread was ridiculous.

A brother and sister don't have a good relationship. The brother Kousuke is a high schooler and his sister is in middle school and has a side job as a model. One day a DVD case gets knocked out of Kirino's bag and Kousoke picks it up. The outside of the DVD case shows it to be an anime show, but inside is a porn game. Kousoke is surprised, but gives the DVD case back to Kirino. Kirino is embarrassed. Having this secret between the new siblings has Kirino start opening up to Kousoke. She shows Kousoke all of her hidden anime stuff that she buys with the money she gets from modelling. She asks Kousoke to give her life lessons. Kirino soon starts meeting up with anime fans in the real world, particularly two girls. Kirino's friend from middle school absolutely does not like anime stuff and blames Kousoke for Kirino's obsession.

The only thing I find curious about the game is the supposed twitter-like system.

How does it work? Can you just read post other characters put up? Is there some interaction between different characters? And can you put up things yourselves and get some fake replies?

I really wish I knew Japanese, because I'd buy this in a heartbeat. Oreimo season 1 was awesome, season 2 is awesome also. I might just get this and collect it, lol. Such a great anime, definitely interested in this game regardless.

I wonder if Kirino is going to hold a Vita like she did in a season 2 episode.XD

That's...interesting. I feel like there's so much more that's going on that has to be read/watched to actually understand, right?

I think it has a good chance of being pretty cool.

I stand by my original comment. If there is a yandere end, I will youtube it. Of course, this isn't a VN, so I have no idea how routes work in these kind of things if they exist at all.

Let's see if this thread fares any better than the last one...

As I was about to post before it was locked down, I just wanted to say that I enjoy the anime. Kirino can be quite annoying, but at least the supporting cast has several interesting characters.

With that said, I would be interested in playing this game. It's a shame we'll never see it in the states though, and since I only have a rudimentary knowledge of Japanese I doubt I'll import it. Looking forward to seeing impressions, though.

Wish these games came with english subs even if they did not plan to sell it at retail abroad. I wonder how much a english translation costs. PS3 is region free in most cases right?

I'm a little disappointed it turned out to be an iM@S like game. I'm awful at those. The fake twitter thing looks like fun though.
Very curious as to what's on the CD.

I've never seen this show but I'm curious about how the game works. It appears to be a social media and photography simulator, is there more to it than that?

I kind of want one of these games to be localized to the West just to see what these games are really about and maybe learn about the people who play these games in Japan.

I've always enjoyed these "Pokémon Snap"-styled games. I don't know why, but they're a lot of fun. Given that Kirino is an idol/model, I guess it makes sense.

I don't think I'll go through the effort of importing this one, though. Still, the Limited Edition looks nice!

doesn't seem to have much kanji so it should be easy to read, but that price is quite something
The price isn't surprising. Games, in Japan, seem to [normally] be priced higher than those in North America, even more-so for the Limited Editions.

From what I gather it's a visual novel [of sorts] with the gameplay portion being the photo-capture and, I assume, photo-viewer.
