jeez

Is that Viewtiful Joe?

We know. :P

Edit: Oh no, I got post 1101. I guess I need to make a Mother/EarthBound prediction for this E3 Wii U Direct. EarthBound is going to be released for Virtual Console either directly following the presentation or in the month following it
(please :()
.

What I want: "Please understand, I am about to drop the bomb. I apologize if any of you soil yourselves in anticipation as we briefly show clips of these games coming exclusively to the Wii U over the next 18 months. [Starts sizzle reel] Final Fantasy Versus! Mario Kart x Sonic Racing! F Zero U! Mario Unbounded! Castlevania: Return of Belmont! Mega Man | Mega Man X: The Final Battle! X! Ultimate Doom! Civ Rev 2! The Legend of Ganondorf, developed by Retro Studios! The Legend of Shiek, developed by Cacpom! And one more thing: The Legend of Zelda: The Imprisoning War!"

What I fear: "We apologize that many of our titles, which we cannot announce at this time, have been delayed until 2014. And now, a Nintendo employee will walk you through 8 new minigames of Wii Fit U. Afterwards, we will walk through Mii U Sports, and show the exciting advances brought to the original Wii Sports by the inclusion of the Gamepad and Miiverse."

Seriously, though, put me on board the hype train, for old time's sake. Nintendo is finally going to put all its cards on the table, and who has a better potential hand in the entire video game industry?

It's actually an ultraviolent FPS. At the end you slowly saw off the goblin king's head. E3 attendees reported that Miyamoto just stood next to the demo station, staring at them.

You forgot to add: "So, did you like it?"

or at least a VC release! N64 had sooo many cool games, despite what the internet and people of that time like to say.

If Nintendo seriously announces N64 titles for VC I will crap my pants, run 10 miles to calm down and kiss everybody I see on my way. But for now, I keep my expectations really low so I don't have to sigh through every announcement.

well, we know they're coming ...I bet Iwata will give at least a rough timeframe and the actual announcement will come in a future regular Direct.

They've already been announced...

What's so exciting about this? They only released like 20 on Wii VC.

No they haven't.

They released the most important ones (barring Rareware games) and gave Sin and Punishment a western release. It was good enough for me.

If Kamiya really announces that he is directing a new Star Fox game then Nintendo has already won e3 this year

An almost irrelevant IP that barely has many good games in the series makes Nintendo win E3?

EDIT: Well you did say if Kamiya is directing the new Star Fox, which would make me excited.

Iwata announced this at this point during the April 17th Nintendo Direct.

If Naughty Dog can make an Uncharted game in a couple years, I'm pretty sure Nintendo could make a Zelda game in the same time, given a large enough team.

This is the most hilarious shit I have read all day, how can you even compare the scope of a game like Zelda to a cinematic experience, cs galore, 5 hours long, autopilot game like Uncharted is beyond me.

That's only two games. :p

I believe both of those games were originally published by Nintendo (OB64 in Japan, BH worldwide), so in all likelihood they are returning as well.

That's fine, but the publishing rights have seemed to revert to Square Enix worldwide for Ogre Battle 64, and Konami worldwide for Bomberman Hero. Whether or not they were originally published by Nintendo doesn't 100% guarantee their upgrading to the Wii U Virtual Console (as desirable as that would be). All I'm saying is that technically, not all of the Nintendo 64 titles on the Wii Virtual Console are currently published by Nintendo.

Yes, I know it's only two games, but my OCD is really coming out today. Sorry. :P

Anyways, I'd just like to note that both the Nintendo Direct page and the Nintendo E3 page make note of the broadcast being "LIVE" / a "livestream," so it'll be interesting to see if there are any technical difficulties or if they'll present the Nintendo Direct in front of a live audience.

You are hyped for this ? There are already N64 titles on the VC. In Wii mode.

The Wii VC version of Ogre Battle 64 was also published by Nintendo in Japan, so I don't really know what's going on there. As for Bomberman Hero, was it even a good game? ;) Konami's been releasing all of Hudson Soft's old games on the 3DS VC, so I think that we'll see it again as well.

so E3 2013, new console and you people want N64 VC titles?

No, I want completely new games for my Wii U (I already know games are coming out on the 3DS). I also understand Nintendo's "quality over all else" philosophy, so I'm willing to repurchase older games like EarthBound when they come to the Virtual Console in order to serve as stopgaps between new game releases.

Regardless of whether or not it's a good game (I remember having fun with it when I was younger; I'm sure those memories would be tarnished if I were to go back and replay it today :P), it's still a game worth considering for the purpose of this discussion. And hey, OB64 is published Nintendo in Japan. Square Enix has international publishing rights otherwise, though. Weird.

My hype went to almost zero seeing those silhouettes.
3D Mario - awesome. Everything else we've already seen / known about for years!

Well, if they were trying to surprise people, don't you think it'd be a bad idea to just post silhouettes of characters from every game they'll be showing? The fact that they used an old Mario render should be pretty indicative of the fact that the silhouettes hardly represent everything they'll show.

Why would they even obliquely reveal assets for games we have no clue about simply to hype us up for a conference? Come on, now. :P You can bet that there'll be new announcements on June 11th.

Anybody else think nintendo is going too swoop in and steal E3 from underneath sony and Microsoft?

I think the 1st party lineup Nintendo has is really impressive, and if the rumors are true and SSB 3d Mario are all Xmas titles, Nintendo could make a big recovery in both sales and marketing.
