I don't think we'll see Gears 4 or Halo 5. We'll definitely see Halo, but it'll be a spinoff. Though Frankie denies Halo 2 Anniversary, it's probably the most likely candidate followed by Wars 2 or an ODST 2
I want to believe

It's Gears that needs a rest IMO, especially now that Microsoft really don't need to rely on it. Their strategy seems to be one of appealing to as wide a userbase as possible, so I expect a more varied lineup this time round. Let it sleep to build interest, another announcement so soon would only continue the fatigue.

I think gears judgement was an awful idea, as a OG gears stan i didn't even bother to touch that crap

PCF needs to fly the hell away from gears.

Definitely, Judgement was a mistake and I doubt it was worth the effort, thing will be lucky to hit 1.5m if that.

PCF are competent but not good enough for Gears.

Sound of a chainsaw revving.

Blood splatters screen and loud screams are heard.

Footsteps are heard getting closer.

It's Conker.

My dream is to have Rare come out and announce KI. Then Remedy with QB.

Then Rare again with Banjo Threeie, then ... Turn 10 or w/e.

Then Rare again with Conker!!

People would be spitting their drinks out.

I just love the idea of a vague-ass trailer that would be assumed is Gears and it ends up being Conker.

Judgment was fantastic. The movement of the characters is much better its bigger (in terms of environments), looks fantastic and they made some small changes to controls etc which improve it a lot (namely the grenade to LB).

They didn't market it enough and I will admit the declassified additions to the game weren't handled right, but it wasn't a mistake at all.

FUCK ki... Give us Conker, Rare

Microsoft isn't that company. Think of the most obvious game for Rare to make that would generate the most cash, and that's the choice you can bet the current management at Xbox is going to make. These are the same guys that still haven't come up with a plan to deal with indies yet.

you know you want banjo kazooie 3

This is more than likely the correct answer.

This is more than likely the correct answer.

Based on what?

I'd love a new Banjo, but it doesn't exactly fit the criteria of a cherished franchise slated for a historic revival. Conker's far more likely, so I'll continue to secretly pin my hopes on that while expecting KI3.

Besides we need more positive karma (read: wishful posting) for Conker as I fear the scales of fate are being tipped in the favour of Jet Force Gemini and Blood Wake.

He's appearing in Killer Instinct 3.

Microsoft certain they have heard what the fans want.

Don Mattrick feels this deserves a round of applause.

Meltdowns.

I completely agree. The Gears of War franchise has probably been my favorite this gen but I had absolutely no interest playing a crappy spin-off with no horde mode. I'd be all over a Gears 4 announcement, personally, I do not have series fatigue. Yet.

Marketing wasn't the problem.

I like that idea. I'm also in the no to Killer Instinct camp. It would be such a tremendous waste of Rare's time. Conker, new Kameo, true Banjo title, new IP in the realm of either of those would be a good way to go for Rare.

It would be so fucking awesome if there are two exclusive fighting games released within a year of these consoles(s) launching. Killer Instinct and Bloody Roar in 2013(4)? Craziness.

Sadly enough this isn't completely unthinkable.

It's pretty cringeworthy the way Mattrick stands around during his speaking engagements waiting for an applause after he shows or says something. He should just proceed almost as if he is expecting no applause. Let the applause come naturally, if it ever comes. Just don't stop what you're doing, ever, unless interrupted by people applauding.

And 5 or 10 people clapping isn't reason to pause and let it continue.

Jet Force Gemini as a Gears style cover shooter. No one would expect that.

Jet Force Gemini has to change. No way it can be the same kind of game that it was before. As a Gears style cover shooter, only with lots of colors, wackiness and a different game world, it would have huge potential.

I dunno why they don't get people to host these things, like Ryan Seacrest or w/e (no not my cup of tea, just an example)

i wish they just let phil Spencer do the talking, the man has a way with words. i literally foolishly believe everything he has to say. mattricks is a good man but he's an awful speaker.

The lack of Hype in this Thread is depressing !
I'm not a xbox fan but ...come on you just got a new system, Wake up guys !

They've invited 500 Xbots to the E3 show to ensure there will be a lot of clapping. So get ready for a lot of pauses. :P

If we are going to assume that Crackdown 3 is coming based on the XOne homescreen then its safe to assume that Halo is also coming, especially with the registration of the 'Halo: Spartan Assault' domain.

Maybe... They would have to go crazy with it... some Vanquish inspiration. I can't see it being the game they are reviving though.

I really think there is going to be a Halo title at launch, most likely some spinoff game

Mattrick just strikes me as more of a behind the scenes business guy. He doesn't seem like he has what it takes to be the public face of anything. I hope he can manage to change that impression of himself at this E3.

Just bring the big hits left and right and then just walk off that stage like you fucking own the place.

What exactly are you trying to imply? I haven't been invited anywhere! And I don't clap for anything less than $2000.

I think the people at Microsoft Games are think outside the box kind of people, but people are going to scream "Halo! Gears! Doritos! Mountain Dew.!" at me so I'll refrain from saying anything but this: Xbox Live, Xbox 1 Japanese games, Xbox 360 design, XBLA, Alan Wake, Kinect, and Rare.

Sure, some of those aren't all hits, but those were all huge innovations at the time. Xbox Live has changed everything, forever. Xbox 1 (and the 360 to some extent) had tons of weird and wonderful Japanese games that unfortunately failed to sell time after time. The design of the original 360 was definitely innovative and fresh, but unfortunately it was a little too unprovem (RROD). Xbox Live Arcade basically was an indie revolution on the console side of things. Alan Wake was an unknown franchise that didn't necessarily feel like it was going to be a huge hit like Halo/Gears. Kinect felt reactionary to the Wii, but it also felt like something that could change gaming like the Wii did if the tech was there; hell, it sold a ton of 360's because of how many people outside of usual gaming were into it. Buying Rare was a bold move back in the day, and while the games haven't all been critical hits, games like Nuts and Bolts, Kameo, and Viva Pinata are great experiments. Not to mention they made a big smash financial hit with Kinect Sports.

I think that MS Studios definitely adapted a lot worse to the stretched out console generation a lot worse than Sony. Kinect was a creative crutch that allowed them to draw new people in, and they still catered to the people who love gaming online with Halo and Gears. I really can't say anything until we know what the hell the 15 new exclusives are, but more than half of them being new IP's is great, even if only half of those new IP's are core related. It's a step in the right direction.

I wonder what F2P games will they have. I think some insiders have hinted at Hawken and League of Legends.

Hawken is a F2P game?

There's plenty of hype in the thread, it's just hard to see when there's only like.... 20 different regular posters who post here. Other Xbox fans have gone and got themselves banned, and everyone else is just more hyped for the PS4.

But who knows, come E3 that might change.

I'm super excited! Mainly because most of the games are unknown, and I already want the two exclusives they've announced.

I want something outside of racing and shooters.

I haven't seen anything that makes me feel like I'm missing Kinect.

If it's just press these buttons to win, I am already building a PC to replace my blown up Intel LGA 775 for that experience.

As am I. Like you, I'm definitely interested in Quantum Break and Forza. Throw in Crackdown 3 and I'm sold.

As much as a majority of GAF will protest, cry, and pound about Kinect, I feel like games are very stale to me.

Some input needs to change.

I just want something different.

Yeah, from a gaming viewpoint, they really have to win me over with Kinect. I like it as a UI navigation device (if the voice/gesture stuff works well enough) but it's still unproven as a controller for games.

I also agree that variety is king, and I hope to see a lot of it!

Hmm, I think most games are probably known.

I'm only expecting only one or two legit surprises.

Really? I hope you're wrong, but maybe you'll be right.

I think a new Rare game, a new Crackdown, and the potential of Black Tusk's game are exciting enough for me. I guess those aren't surprises though, since we know we'll most likely see them.

I think Kinect 2.0 + controller could be really something amazing if Kinect is accurate enough.

How do you feel about naturally talking to the characters using Kinect, rather than just selecting your responses from a menu? And I mean actual conversations, not just saying pre determined responses. Too weird?

The way Phil Harrison has been hyping up the new speech recognition in Kinect, as well as the amount of investment MS put into their audio chip leads me to believe we'll be seeing plenty of that sort of thing in this generation.

Whatever Microsoft is cooking, Kinect is not the end of "gimmicks" coming to the Xbox One.

Those leaked slides last year mentioned an Occulus Rift type device named Fortaleza.

I'm fine with it. New experiences.

Google Glasses is no different in terms of talking to your device.
