Her acting that entire scene was just sublime.
This. I really liked the scene a few eps back when she arrested Tyrion but this last scene was just head and shoulders!

This is one of the only shows I have seen that challenges the invincibility of key characters. And the way they play with the idea of survival, like having Robb rise up again and Catelyn crawling under the tables, it kind of lingers, the "well just maybe something will happen and they will be fine" feeling. Fantastic.

Incredible scene. I wonder what happens to the rest of the Starks. I assume they're gonna go on full revenge mode.

There are barely enough of them to do anything now. They've lost the army, they've lost their home, they've lost their standing and future... there is nothing left for them.... that was a true decapitation strike on the Stark family .... in more ways than one.

How? Sansa is a naive moron married to Tyrion. Arya is stuck with the Hound who probably won't let her go. She's been wanting revenge for 3 seasons. She should add Roose Bolton, Tywin Lannister and Walder Frey to her nighttime prayer curse list.

Bran is headed north of the wall to find out what the hell is wrong with him. Rickon is off with Osha somewhere and I think this means he's done for a while since he had few lines or story.

Jon is the last one who has any chance and he has Tormund and a pissed off Ygritte on his ass, a nights watch all but done, some mutiny assholes who killed Lord Mormont and white walkers and wights and Mance Rayders army about to march on the wall.

With the death of Robb, his bannermen, and Cat, the Starks lost, the North lost. I have no hope left for any victory against the Lannisters by Starks. At best, Dany will right these wrongs if/when she comes.

Well I guess that was bad suggestion and I'm sorry, just didn't want to say anything. I know for the next time. My bad.

don't worry dude, you probably had the right intentions but still.. it bears repeating - don't google anything about ASOIAF. If you're worried about certain characters' fates PM a book reader. You can even go to Tower of the Hand, a website with information that you can "customize" depending on how many books you've read.

With Jon being part of the Watch it's not like he can really do anything. I'm pretty sure they don't concern themselves with stuff South of the Wall.

I'm really warming to the Hound, and really interested in where his character ends up going. Especially with this new dynamic between Arya and him.

When Walder showed his daughters off to Robb before, he showed him all the ugly ones essentially.

Gotta explain it in simpler terms. Frey was pissed due to Rob back stabbing him, what does ugly or beautiful daughters have to do with that? I'm assuming the beautiful girl was just getting ready for the wedding, doesn't seem strange she was MIA for the apology,

You know, I was fully expecting a big event to happen on Episode 9. It happened in both seasons leading up to this. I don't think you could ever fully prepare for that though.

STANNIS WILL RISE FROM THE ASHES AND SOAR THROUGH THE SKY LIKE A PHOENIX REBORN!

Tywin is already on Arya's list and Arya has no way of knowing that Bolton betrayed her family.

I meant jon snow and arya. Not a full war.

Remember Arya can summon that assassin.

I mean in the seasons before when Robb vowed to marry one of his daughters and make her his queen. He showed off his ugly daughters and Robb was just completely turned off by the idea.

I guess I have the Arya and the Hound road show to look forward to. Arya will eventually kill some Lannisters with the Hound's help. Can I have that, please? I need some Lannister blood to be spilled! Not some dumb ass cousins either.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeiit.

If my last name was Stark now would the time to go into hiding.

Yeah...I really don't see how the Stark family can come back from this.

I think the problem facing the show now is I really have no idea who I should be rooting for or sympathizing with.

Everyone left is either not in any position to be making bold moves...or are just fucking AWFUL people.

When Robb made the vow to Frey, he hadn't actually seen the daughters. Only Catelyn did, and when she told Robb about them, she sort of tried to downplay their ugliness (of the ones she saw), but it was clear what she meant when she was asked about their looks. I thought that scene was played rather well.

However, it does reinforce the fact that everything is Catelyn's fault.

Ned going to King's Landing
Jaime being let go
Telling Robb that Frey only had ugly daughters
Capturing Tyrion
Not loving Jon

She really has a laundry list of issues

That's the thing though. GRRM said himself that no character is written to be black or white. Even Joffrey, the insufferable little shit, is a product of his environment. His characters are all grey, with some leaning a little more to one side than the others.

Everyone should be rooting for Stannis now

I think it was his penis leeches are what made that event so brutal.

Or it was just the luck of the Starks. But nevertheless never rooting for Stannis. Davos all the way though. Hopefully gets off that sinking ship.

It's been a ride people. Feels good to have this finally out. This shook me to the core years back. Fucking brutal.
