I thought the whole Jon thing fell a bit flat. The show seemed to play it like there was intrigue surrounding Jon's loyalties, but it seemed pretty obvious the whole time where those lied. And we already knew from that early scene with the Wildlings that Jon isn't going to kill a helpless person.

did anyone notice ygritte's face when jon snow ran off? pure fury. good acting.

all that foreshadowing about her cutting his balls off if he ever left her . . . and then he runs away and leaves her behind (not to mention his brothers).

starks are stupid.

I have to say this is the shows one play, well second but seriously... viewers will not give a fuck anymore about any characters now... I wouldn't be surprised if anyone dies now nor will I care enough.. This was the series Ace play...lol At this point I'm gonna give a meh if the kill Arya, or Jon or Dany It has just desensitized every viewer from here on out.

People said the same thing at the end of S1. As much of a gut punch this event was, it sets up a whole bunch of interesting things to come.

It really didnt register until Catelyn notice something was up, and even then I figured maybe they will keep them prisoner or something , not go all Manson family on the place.
You have to remember what everyone has been saying about Walder for the past three seasons. The guy is a total power monger who only looks out for himself.

The fact that he was so welcoming and hospitable was a huge red X to me. And as soon as I saw Rosalin, I was like NONONONONONO.

I don't understand why no one from the Stark camp thought that was suspicious. Did they think it was a joke or something?

Also, I was kind of hoping Rains of Castamere would be playing throughout the throat slitting, but it was also really intense with the silence. I liked how the credits were silent, because I just kind of stood there in shock.

thought that final shot was kinda goofy as it just lingered on caetlyn until some dude just decides to end her misery.

robb was eddard 2.0, too dumb to survive in that world.

Omg wtf did I just watch. And right before sleep time too. It's been a while since a TV show sparked emotions out of me like that.

Anyone else think its weird that the sorta intellectual chubby guy is attracted to that girl that didn't know what critical thinking was? I feel like they are foreshadowing something there.

Oh and the final shot was amaze. Just holding my breath the entire time. Catelyn's face :|

Maybe you guys can stop thinking in good vs. evil now.

Plus Stannis was always the Mannis anyway

This isn't harry Potter brahs it's grey vs. grey

Just some random lesser Lord under House Stark. Apparently some people here guessed he was working for the Lannisters early this season. Supposedly has a bastard that was sent to capture Theon at Winterfell but arrived too late. Robb put him in charge at Harrenhal where he stayed when Jaime Lannister came. He sent Jaime back under the instructions he tell Tywin it wasn't his fault he lost his hand and then went to the wedding at the Frey's. Who knew how long he was playing the Starks. Sneaky little fuck. I have more anger at him now that even Joffrey or Tywin. Especially that look he gave Cat.

We knew he was rotten when he let Jamie go. Anyway, with this play, we pretty much know who has Theon and who burned Winterfell.

I didn't understand one thing: He was already married to one of the Frey's daughters or he struck a deal with him there, to marry one of his girls?

Either way, one could argue that the Frey asked for his help on the plan, but the fact that he says what he says about the Lannisters just tells me that he did all that.

That and his house description on HBO's website.

Now, to tell you the truth, I knew Robb was gonna get his after half this season. He really was making all the wrong calls with the war (no politics, killing Karstark, betraying the Frey), specially after a strong Season 2. I just thought it would take a while longer and I didn't think they would kill the entire Stark family and army.

I've never read the books, but since after Ned died in Season 1, this show seemed a Arya and Jon Snow story for me, as long as the Starks are concerned, along with Dany coming back eventually. We'll see.

Man, the way the line "Mother..." was delivered. I was absolutely heart broken. Then the scream after.

And I had spoiled myself. I was still in shock and spent a couple minutes honestly crying.

Not really a lesser lord but still the reason he did what he did is not really known

He was loyal to Starks for years so just throwing them under bus was strange move.

I view it as survival, many of northmen felt the war was over when he lost the Freys due to marrying another girl, then beheads Karkstark causes mass amount of his army to leave. So Bolton did what he had to make sure his House survived made a deal to avoid Lannister+Tyrell army steamrolling and killing them all. Is it scummy maybe but could be worse you could have to face the wrath of Tywin

I'm going to have a dream about this episode tonight, I just know it. All week long I'm going to be thinking about this show. We waited two weeks for this?

I feel like such a stupid asshole too. Thinking Robb even had a chance. Thinking about some battle for Casterly Rock that'll never happen now.

What's next season? Battle at the wall between Mance and Jon? Bran learns to warg into shit? Arya probably tours the countryside with the Hound learning to fight, Sansa in for another brutal season of being threatened with rape by Joffrey etc.

I wonder what Brienne will do now when she finds out Lady Stark is dead, and all her oath shit is out the window. I hope she'll attack Tywin or something.

Had a pretty good feeling her looks would surprise when she came in covered. Might have been a fake daughter, but maybe not.

I thought that was great. Just look at the contrast between Catelyn pre-Robb death and then immediately afterwards. The life just sapped out of her completely. She was effectively a zombie at that point. Getting her throat slit was just the nail in the coffin, so to speak. She was already dead.

Or the wedding where Dany and Dorhar whatever die, or Stannis and Melisandre. At this point I've just accepted that no one I like will win anything, I'm sure Dany or Stannis will die next season, and we'll all be reduced to "#TeamJoffrey". Ugh, GRRM. The book readers weren't lying when they said don't grow attached to anyone.

I don't think that's right. Just google it, I don't want to be a spoiler asshole.

you know what? don't listen to this guy. Don't google anything about ASOIAF, just PM a book reader that can tell you SOME things without spoiling you every single detail. Some people just love to spoil everything.

Alright that was pretty crazy. But I would like to take a step back and wonder what will happen next. No use crying over spilled milk.

I'm not willing to disregard the Lannister spy theory just yet. Her being murdered means nothing. She'd served her purpose as far as the Lannisters are concerned, and how easy would it be for the scumbag Freys and Boltons to say "oh uh yeah she was injured in the fighting and a wound festered."

I really hope Rickon survives with the very capable wildling woman. She seemed to be dodging the question of how she got past the wall. Why?

Bran, Jon, and Arya better be destined for big things. Arya witnessed murder...oh dear. She's probably going to be really traumatized =/.

Man, I'm actually really excited now, because we're in a position where it's like IMPOSSIBLE to guess what will happen next. Anything could go down. From an objective, plot-wise standpoint, what just happened is actually great. It opens the door for who knows what to happen. Really. It seriously changes everything

Well I guess that was bad suggestion and I'm sorry, just didn't want to say anything. I know for the next time. My bad.

I would 100% be on the side of the Lannisters if it was them vs. Daenerys army. No hesitation. Everyone on this show can be sacrificed if it means getting rid of Daenerys storyline, except Arya. The moment Arya goes is when I stop watching.

Dude, you're a fucking goober. What's the problem with Danerys? You've got to be trolling us. You act like all she does is send men to die for her. Did you not see her starve and suffer in the desert last season? How about the way she was sold like a whore by her brother in the first season and constantly threatened? Give the lady a break, man! Comparing her to Joffrey makes you sound like a lunatic.

I've stayed away from this thread from the start (season one to present) cause I was afraid of ever getting spoiled, but after this last episod... I can't help myself. I had to see the reactions to this, cause my mind just exploded with fuck.

This is some other level shit, that last 20minutes could have been some of the best TV I have ever watched in my life.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
I was certainly expecting some further indignity, but when "The Rains of Castamere" started playing, I was like, oh shit, this might get worse than I thought. Then it got way fucking worse.

I meant why didn't he at least try to get the girl on his horse before leaving. That's the asshole part.

By the way I missed it, did the innocent man end up living/getting away?

Asshole? Quite the opposite. He even knocked her over before the fight broke down so she didn't betray the wildlings, only him.
