She wasn't pregnant in the book.
Well, Talisa+Robb didn't even exist in the books, if we want to get specific
I still don't know why they scrapped Jeyne and went with Talisa. Oh wel..

Seems most people can't know a difference between reality and a TV show. I watched, was like "WOW that sucks" at the end of the episode for 5 seconds, them was moving to do something else. Geez.
flop showrunners tbh
I have seriously been thinking about this all day... I can't seem to get it out of my mind.

A nice compilation of the reactions.
Also, for book readers, how does the show's version play out differently than the book? Feel free to spoiler tag it, or pm or whatever.
Isn't Baelish going to be pissed?

ASOSAlso, for book readers, how does the show's version play out differently than the book? Feel free to spoiler tag it, or pm or whatever.
From what I remember, the differences:
(I'll spoiler just in case)
- Robb's wife, Jeyne Westerling, doesn't attend the Red Wedding but stays in Riverrun.
- Caetelyn kills the court jester in the book. Not Frey's wife
ASOSNot much differently. Jeyne Westerling (Robb's wife in the books) isn't at the wedding. The Northmen (who are better-developed in the books) put up a much more valiant fight against the Freys, and Cat slits the throat of Jinglebell, the simpleton jester, instead of the throat of Walder Frey's wife. Other than that it was pretty damn similar.
Oh yeah, and the "musicians" at the wedding are pretty bad, since (as we find out) they aren't musicians at all. One of the hints GRRM drops leading up to the Red Wedding.
Ah, that's what people meant by the band. Also, what is thetable flipping with Robb? Saw that online. Apparently one of the things they left out.
ASOSShe kills one of Frey's sons, who has a mental disability.
EDIT: My mistake. One of Frey's grandsons...I think. There's a lot of them.
Cat stole the show. Great scream at the end.
seriously? have you not been paying attention at all this season?I don't understand though. Was Lord Frey behind it all? Just because Rob Stark went back on his oath to marry one of his daughters??
And why did one of the men say "Lannister sends his regards"?
Im still stressing about this episode. My wife happened to be there while everything went down and we got into a huge argument over how graphic it was (stupid I know). Anyway, I dont think I ever felt so much emotion over tv (movies included) and although very heart breaking, gotta admit it was awesome.
I guess I have no choice now but to pick up the books. Damn it!!
god damn, as a book reader I was like 'oh yeah, I'm ready'
then there was fucking medieval abortions happing and I was all 'wait fucking... .forgot some shit in the book apparently wtf'
man this lived up to the book telling and then some. I'm not saying movie better than the book, but this sequence was better than the book sequence. They pulled no punches.
oh as for book differenceswhat happens to his wife then? I guess she becomes nothing, because.... man that's a change and a half for the show? for the better though, that was graphic and disturbing as shit.
I loved the way Robb was just too shocked to do anything while his wife took a blade to their unborn child. just total disbelief. Really sold it, because that's probably what would really happen if you saw that thing, total brain break.
But that's the point of the red wedding. It's the massacring of Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark and various other lords of northern houses. It's meant to be in your face.Liked the red wedding in idea ... Loathed the execution. Much much too " in your face " with people getting their throats cut everywhere, especially at the end, with Walder Frey's wife and then instantly Cat Stark. Pretty ridiculous, useless, and made much less of a impact.

There's " in your face " story telling and " in your face " graphic violence.
They could have shown the massacre begin, and close doors, or shown arya under a table seeing the body fall one after the others, or so many other things.
It's just the " cutting throat with blood everywhere in full frame and full frontal four times in 30s " that I found a bit too much. Especially the last one, between the 10s pause and the sudden cut to the credits ...
It's funny because lots of people were afraid they would chicken out and do this. This was supposed to be a brutal, gory, disgusting massacre of the Northern people.
This is true, but Game of thrones has always joined "in your face" story telling with "in your face" violence, gore, sex, whatever the situation is. This was no different. In fact it would have been out of place if they went soft with a scene like this. There's " in your face " story telling and " in your face " graphic violence.

Yeah, it was total doom and dread. It's funny because lots of people were afraid they would chicken out and do this. This was supposed to be a brutal, gory, disgusting massacre of the Northern people.
This was the biggest crazy moment since The Wire or The Shield (I'm assuming everyone knows the two I'm talking about).
