Got my Vita (wifi & 3g) on Sunday, really nice, I love the screen. Didn't cost me any cash either, traded my old iPad and iPhone for it and got enough credit for the purchase. Got LittleBigPlanet and a 4gb card.
Not impressed with the price of the memory cards, though. I was looking at getting a 32gb one, but it's too expensive.
It says on the box that I can get a free copy of WipEout from Vodafone (I'm in Ireland) once I register and top up the sim card with €20. Has anyone done this? Any problems getting the code from them?
Is FIFA on the Vita good? Worth buying? Also, any good games coming out later this year? How is the Killzone game shaping up?
I did the Vodafone thing at launch in Germany and got my Wipeout code as promised in a day. But the promotion is limited until they run out of codes, so maybe you should check back with them, maybe they just forgot about it. Would be kinda surprised if they are still running it.
Fifa for Vita is essentially Fifa 11.5 and misses most importantly Tactical Defending and the Impact Engine. As Fifa 11 was a good game, the Vita version also is. The missing features may be a turn off for some but there isn't any better portable football game.
I just bought it at the CL finale promotion so I only have played two online matches, botch were very laggy. You can play the game without all Vita gimmicks but the backtouch shooting is really good. In fact, it is totally overpowered.
You should get PS+ and enjoy Uncharted and Gravity Rush. The memory card prices really suck but like everyone sooner or later you will crave for the 32GB one (especially after subscribing to PS+). The user experience with a bigger card is much better.
Limbo port redeemed! (if true and working with the PS+ version)
