Holy shit and people are still mad? What the fuck?

I cannot wait to play this game. Didn't really need reviews to help my hype but it is in overdrive now. Sucks that I won't get to play it until the 20th. Damn work trip!

There's an English bit at the end of that article.

Not sure if intentional or not.

Yes, it's the multiplayer part of the review, and since we did not get to try it yet it's to be completed ;) We could have written "A suivre" I guess!
glad you guys are still around! I love gamersyde! Looking forward to your e3 coverage

Thanks, we'll try to do our best at E3, but I'm afraid it's going to only get more and more difficult to get good footage of games, if the past E3 were any indications. We'll see.

Why do you care so much about Metacritic? It's obvious that reviewers think this game is good. The people who have played the demo, myself included, mostly think the game is good. Metacritic is what's wrong with games bro.

Because bonuses to devs are frequently tied to Metacritic scores and we like to see them rewarded for a good job, for one?

Man......reading some of these reviews is getting me so excited. The game seems to be full of those rare ‘special’ moments.

I'm so glad I stuck to my media black-out for the most part. Naughty Dog truly is the best developer around at the moment.

DatDude has a history of going too far with game fanboyism, see: BioShock Infinite. So it can go either way. This is either a sabotage from the "BI is the GotY" camp or he has extended the madness to a new client.

Anyway it will be fun if Tom Chick decides he hates it and naturally scores it 1 or 2 points lower than he probably should.

Rotten Tomatoes doesn't show you the "best" movie, it shows you the most liked one.

i'm really curious to see his review. even if i don't agree with him, his opinions are well thought out and supported.

Another thing is, that I'm very impressed by the cover system. Not the way he takes cover by himself (without you having to push a button) like in Tomb Raider, but more so, how it works when Ellie is taking cover with you. How he covers her back or how he slightly move around her if he have to get to the right side or left side of her while in cover. Impressive.

Would love to read/watch a review, but I don't trust any reviewer to not spoil the game for me. If it weren't for the fact that the game isn't officially out yet, I wouldn't even be here. Aggregate scores alone make it a classic. This gen is ending rather strongly.

That's not my point. My point is that people always complain when review sites tend to stick to the 7-10 scale, but look at this thread. Look at how many readers are furious - furious! - that Polygon dared to give a highly-anticipated game a 7.5/10. It's insane. No wonder gaming sites seem to feel trapped by the score scale.
And our point is you don't know any single person held both points, so your post was moronic.

It's reviewing better then I thought it would. I thought there would be a bigger mix of 7 and 9. At least thr reaction to the 7.5 and 8 is better then the infamous u3 fiasco

I couldn't care less about what average it ends up at and I couldn't care less for the Polygon score for that matter. It's just fun to see who predicted it right. :P

Maybe he wants to see GTAIV surpassed ;)

While that would be mindblowing, I don't think there's ever going to be an average that high again with more and more publications getting on metacritic. The outliers will prevent that.

Because bonuses to devs are frequently tied to Metacritic scores and we like to see them rewarded for a good job, for one?

This is not a practice you should be supporting. Don't criticize the reviewers for messing up the dev's bonuses; (for a game you haven't even played to know if they deserve yet, but that's besides the point) criticize the idiotic industry for tying bonuses to metacritic!

Sessler already spoiled me noooooooooooooooooooooo.

I stopped the video at the right moment. He was going to talk about the ending... Phew Was loving the review until that point. 17 hours of game! I should take 2-3 days off to play it hehehe

Polygon are entitled to give whatever score they want, but I do feel that a review holds a certain amount of responsibility to the consumer insofar as not to let your own personal view influence the score too much.
I should clarify that and say that when I read a review, I want to know if I would like it; not whether someone who MAY have vastly different tastes to me thinks of it. I suppose, this is an impossible request.

Again, you're singling out like three or four people whereas most of us are just shrugging, reading the review and moving on.

Uncharted 2 and 3 did not provide deep emotional responses at all. BI didn't either until the very end. From the sounds of it TLoU does.

Uncharted 2 and 3 were very emotional for many. Although, not particularly for me. Emotions go beyond "sad" and "depressed".

Got to love all the gameplay praise and simultaneously calling out Uncharted 3 for its lack. This makes me very hyped.

Very, very few.

Words escape me...

People didn't think they were so great when they dared to give the mighty Uncharted 3, the game that single handedly turned video games in to an art form (for the millionth time) an 8.

I'd like to think we all know by now how completely bullshit reviews are in this industry, and that the ridiculous inflation that occurs constantly should tell people not to take them seriously. Yet we have people dick riding a bunch of 10s while calling out a 7.5 as being a bribe, all the while well posting on message boards about how they want review scores to use the whole scale and stop contributing to a culture of AAA budgets and hype. It's ridiculous.

Word.
