Fuck Phantom Lancer

Still broken as fuck

We ganked him repeatedly, killed him many times in the early game

we pushed in as fast as we could

took towers

had them down to their T3s

killed him in the jungle

but because WE DID NOT SPEND LITERALLY ALL OF OUR TIME PREVENTING HIM FARMING

HE FUCKING FARMED

AND THEN TOOK OUT OUR RAX IN THREE SECONDS

BECAUSE AGAINST A LANCER YOUR OPTIONS ARE KILL ONLY HIM AND LOSE TO THE REST OF THE TEAM OR TRY AND WIN AND LOSE TO HIM

Just adding to what firewire said; manta is a defensive item that gives armor (through the agi), damage and +ms, which can really help with positioning too. Arguably the most important reason it's picked up though is because of the active, which can be used to dispel silence and other negative buffs (orchids vs antimage, tinker), split push lanes and it gives a really small window of invulnerability (0.1s) if you can time the active properly.

Yeah you also need a carry that farms well enough, so you can kill him in late game (asuming he got ganked a lot and didn't get enough items, and your carry did get his items). I had one game like that a few days ago, I ganked him a lot and got a huskar that actually solo him near his ancient (and killed him while the rest of us where handling the other team). He was the last line of defense and got destroyed before we coudl take the bottom rax.

We did. Both our Shadow Fiend and our Lone Druid were fat as hell. I should mention that they had a Weaver who was really farmed too though.

Pl isn't broken, and wasn't even before his nerf. Post the match id so we can tell you what you did wrong.

Also thanks for those who joined in the AR OMG games last night. We'll get some more going tonight after people are done with regular dotes and inhauses

Oh yeah those games can be won by a secondary carry, we were lucky that the other heroes were a luna that got ganked too, a sb that was destroying us but got easier to deal with as the game went on. And a PL that didnt knew what to buy out of desesperation. Oh and we had a slark that farmed all the game so we went 4 vs 5 most of the game (he even got midas).

Yeah you still need a coordinated team to pull it of. this is a counter example to what I just said:
We got destroyed early, lost bot and mid lane, it was a draw on top lane, Nevermore got farmed, then proceded to try to gank us one by one. Blood got me many times with Ult + Force Staff. We were getting destroyed. Our PL still pulled it off basically by himself in the end

PL isnt OP, just hard to counter in pubs. Is still screwed by incompetent teammates and/or early pushes with many supports skills and heals. Without a team designed to stop pushes (Magnus, Keeper) towers will go down fast and he can't do shit to stop it, making it a 4v5 (+1000 summoned creeps) defense.

Edit: Example of incompetent teammates : NP feed the enemy carries, could not do shit even with those items as a PL

We pushed just fine. we had them down to their T3s early, but we couldn't take any fights at the base

My immediate reaction to that is, "Why not?" Because if you lay down march of the machines and have the bear right click rax, there's not a whole lot dire can do unless they wade in with three melee heroes and take massive march damage.
 
You guys should've won the game at 38 minutes when you had aegis and DD bottled on SF. Your tinker decided to go off on the other side of the map and let you guys fight 4v5, and he's pretty much all of your teamfight. Your sf got caught out in front, locked down, and killed instead of standing behind aegis sb and siegeing with the bear. Your ld also seemed fond of staying in ranged mode and had a hyper stone on himself, and later ac, instead of the bear.

When you tried to push at 49 mins your tinker walked into the other team and died for free without casting a spell, and your sb started at half hp.

Your carries failed to farm efficiently throughout the game, outdone by weaver and pl. SF especially should have been doing more. Your tinker brought virtually nothing to the game, and that crippled you guys. March is your only deterrent to them walking all over you, and it was never casted in the important fights.

Combine this with the fact that weaver had free reign on you for the entire game, making every skirmish a total loss because he chased down and killed almost every straggler, and you won't come out on top. As for instantly losing your base, yeah that's what happens when you lose a fight 50 mins in, the other carries have farm, and no one has a buyback. This game wasn't about PL at all, it was about your guys' inability to get it together and push.
