Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX E3 2013 trailer

Thanks for the new link! The original one is locked. So can't wait for this, September might seem far away, but I'm playing lots of games starting in July, and Xillia in August. I got things to play. :)
 
Dat orchestra. Reminds me when I really liked Simple & Clean when I was junior high. I'd beat the final boss in CoM on GBA so many times just so I could listen to it.

Lost interest in the series after 2 and it went handheld-crazy and story went nuts, but still looking forward to replaying the games that got me into the series, especially since they're the Final Mix version.

Anyway as I have said before it certainly isn't impossible for KH3 to be announced at E3 if it is aimed for 2015 release. The biggest thing that makes me doubt it is that they already have Versus/XV so that might be a lil too much?

KH has been handed for the Osaka team for a while now. They did Re:CoM, BBS, DDD and the HD collections.

Also no fuckin way they start the production on KH3 in some late 2014+ or something. That game has existed for a while now in some form. They ain't even subtle about it.

Edit: just to be clear I am not trying to say that image is real.

That is definately going to come, and be ready fall of 2014. KH3 probably won't be done uuntil 2015... This is SE after all....

I believe if you set your PS3 to 1080p and have a TV/monitor that can display in 1080p then the collection gives you a higher (but not quite 1080p) resolution with some different AA.

Don't quote me on that though, just something I remember reading on here.

I dunno why people keep saying that. I don't think 2.5 would affect KH3 announcement in any way.

Let's just speculate that KH3 is announced next week and is planned for 2015 release. Then they announce 2.5 at TGS and release it in early 2014. I don't see any problems with this approach.

They could even do a very vague teaser at E3 and bigger secret movie teaser in 2.5
 
Pretty sure I heard 1.5 is anamorphic 1080p. It's not "full" HD.

Also that image is fake but I like that KH3 logo.

From the E3 conference thread people have pointed out that the logo is fanmade so that pic is 99% fake.

Edit: I like the logo too but I think the colour scheme is too close to KH2. Especially how different the logos have been in the past.
 
KH is a series that has baffled me for a long time. Countless spinoffs, now HD remakes, and yet no sign of an actual continuation of the main series for a whole generation?

Is it purely because that team was working on Versus XIII, and the development of that went so badly wrong?

I didn't do any tests in 720p, but the game outputs 1080p to the TV, and it looks gorgeous.
 
IMO, KH 2.5 HD Remix is unlikely to get announced at E3.

KH 1.5 HD Remix releases on September 10 in NA/EU, about ten days before TGS 2013.

2.5 will almost certainly get announced at TGS, and not before.

The big question is what's going to happen with KH:DDD. I still think it makes the most sense for its cutscenes to get ported over to the 2.5 HD Remix, because Re:Coded has only one cutscene that matters whatsoever, and that Square-Enix just didn't want to tease that too early and kill KH:DDD sales, but we'll see. If it *doesn't* make it into 2.5 in any form, I'll be surprised and immediately start speculating about what *will* be done with it.

Additionally, the secret ending of BBS on the PSP ended with a tease for BBS Volume 2, which we also have yet to see. If it is even still happening.

I think that's the main part of it as I recall Nomura saying that he was committed to Versus so I don't expect we'll hear much at all until Versus is either near completion or out. It is coming though. Eventually.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what was meant by BBS Volume 2 (if it wasn't referring to all of the subsequent KH games in the timeline - I think that's a stupid idea, personally, but on the other hand it'd make perfect sense coming from the people who thought up the title "358/2 Days").

But, if it does ever happen, I suspect it'd cover
Aqua's time in the World of Darkness, be released after KH3, and help to set up the villain who'll take over after KH3 ends the Xehanort saga.

You might already be aware of this but for example Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance are not spinoffs in any way, they are full fledged KH games.

Edit: I actually think KH3 could be announced at E3 but not 2.5. 2.5 is certainly a TGS announcement.
 
AFAIK, they cancelled BBS Vol. 2 in favor of actually taking the story forward, instead of another prequel-sequel-middle-game. That is, DDD happened.

Eh, I'd say marginally less so for DDD; although it has full production values, the actual game design is full of gaps. This isn't a quality argument so much as pointing out that there's very little story development outside of the very beginning and the very end and that there's way less content overall than KH1/2/BBS.

I think DDD certainly qualifies. It has all the tropes or whatever of a fullblown KH game: Brand new FMV opening, whole new soundtrack, whole new disney worlds, new enemy type ect.

Well I guess it isn't a 100% true mainline KH without a japan only Final Mix release!

Yeah, for sure. It's much less fleshed out than KH1/2/BBS but it's not a "spinoff" title in the sense of CoM or 358/2 Days.

Dream Drop Distance contains full recaps of all the previous games in the series, as well as a sort of lexicon/guide that shows the names of all the characters in the series and descriptions of who they are.

I suspect that, if DDD makes it into 2.5, its recaps will as well.

the cancelled project wasn't BBS volume 2.

Because of that, I won’t say there is absolutely no chance that we will produce a title to follow KHBBS , but there are no plans as of now.
