Mirror's Edge - RTX Remix

Mirror's Edge with RTX Remix, from pre-baked to real-time path tracing.

This is a custom version of the Remix runtime I've been working on to provide Mirror's Edge compatibility for NVIDIA's RTX Remix. A lot of this is still a work in progress and you may notice some issues, but it's mostly in a usable state now.

Note: This version of the runtime does not automatically enhance any assets. I have made a simple Remix mod for the purposes of this showcase which upgrades most materials to take advantage of PBR.

A couple of things I'd like to clarify:

1. This is still very much a work in progress, so visual issues are to be expected.
2. The visual presentation shown here was created specifically for this showcase. It is not part of the Remix runtime, nor does it represent any kind of final visual direction.

That said, the feedback and critiques about the presentation are completely valid and appreciated. To be clear, my goal here is not to create a Remix mod. My focus is on improving Mirror's Edge compatibility with the Remix runtime and getting it into a much better state.

I don't see any visual improvement. But man, what a great game that is. I need to replay it.

Game still holds up extremely well though.

The ridiculously good pre-baked lighting along with the art style in this was what made it so distinctive.

I thought I'd want this, but having now seen it, I'm not sure this is really needed to be honest.

This is one of those cases where RT in any form probably makes no sense. It´s a highly styilized completely static game. You can probably count the dynamic elements that "visibly break the lighting" on 2 hands.

No thanks. I'd rather keep appreciating an era where devs put real effort into baked lighting instead of throwing RT at everything and calling it a day.

The vanilla game looks fantastic as is. Complemented today with modern GPUs that can push excessive amounts of SGSSAA for an incredibly pristine image.
