Sakurai confirms Smash trailer at E3 direct!

I wonder if they'll bother with a lengthy single player again this time. Subspace Emissary was a great concept (and I loved the fanservicey cutscenes), but was kind of weakly executed IMO.

Hasn't it been said that the name of every Smash Bros. tagline had been on the box of the previous one? Melee said Brawl on the box, 64 said Melee?

I think Battle would be a good one.

Super Smash Bros: Worlds Collide ??

I just dont want it to be called Smash Bros U (probably wont because of 3DS)

Super Smash Bros Unleashed

Super Smash Bros Universe

Super Smash Bros Unlimited

Super Smash Bros Arena

Super Smash Bros 4 (lol)

Sakurai mentioned being able to level up your character so I'm having a hard time imagining how they would be that while remaining balanced. The best thing I can think of is leveling to unlock more moves, not necessarily better or stronger moves - just more customization/variety at the cost of a smaller roster.

level up your characters might be like Playstation All Stars Battle Royale where you level up ranks to unlock costumes, victory poses and Intro/Outro

If it means more cutscenes then I hope they do. The scene with all the ships attacking the big enemy ship was amazing.

Aww yeeeah! That scene was awesome. The cutscenes were the only thing keeping me going throughout the singleplayer, so much good stuff in there.

As long as whoever wrote Kid Icarus: Uprising worked on it, I really hope so.

At least for the English script, it's not likely unfortunately, because I believe the guy responsible for most of it is now employed full-time on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show.

Hah, seriously? Kid Icarus had a great script, glad to see the guy behind it is doing well for himself.

Thought I'd drop this off with you guys. My poll has reached 1000 votes, so I thought I'd share the results with you guys.

The COMPLETE RESULTS SHEET

And, I like Super Smash Bros Rebel a lot. But that's because I really like Blazblue, and that seems to be their go to fighting synonym shouted at the begining of matches.

I would like to mention something.

If I was Sakurai, what would I try to add unique characters that would stand out in SSB4?

For example, he added

Trap character - Snake
Summon character - Pokemon Trainer
Air character - Pit and Meta Knight

team character - Ice Climber

If anyone has any really good questions for Sakurai - interesting questions that won't be answered during the Nintendo Direct - let me know. No guarantees, but I'll do my best to read them all.

Responding a little late, but could you ask what Sakurai's policy on guns or violence is in Smash Bros? What types of weapons are off limits? Also was it difficult making Snake's moveset without the use of guns?

I imagine Olimar works better as a summon character.

The trailer appearing at E3 was never a question. It was whether we'd have a playable demo.

While I'm glad Sakurai confirms this anyway, there's no megaton here, sadly.

Uh... Iwata intimated that we'd see screenshots, not video - so it was a question, especially where Nintendo is concerned.

I think we all knew pretty well there would not be a playable demo.

There is no way Nintendo would NOT show a trailer, especially with all their constant mentioning of SSB for the past year.

Also, the next one should be called

Super Smash Bros Chaos

or

Super Smash Bros. Massacre
