A Tour of Sonic Lost World - IGN

Much better. Thank you for doing that.

Is it just me or is Nintendo RARE-ifying Sega? In other words making similar games to Nintendo in different worlds with slightly different mechanics, but very high quality. Exciting. What used to be nice about Rare is they'd provide games in between Nintendo releasing games.

What evidence is there that Nintendo had any part in developing these games? I don't see it.

Game looks great. Not a fan of double jump in Sonic games, though.

Weird that neither of the desert levels are desert themed, but one of them is dessert themed.

The obvious loading screen cutaway of Sonic flying in the 3DS version looks really annoying.

But the game looks amazing on both platforms. What the hell Sega, where have you been hiding these guys?

I don't know why but I'm salivating at the thought of the boxart lol. It's going to be colourful that's for sure!

Sonic games seem to sell extremely well on Nintendo platforms, so that's why Sega is really putting an effort into both versions of the game. That and the fact that Nintendo is publishing the game and likely supervising it too.

Wow, it looks really good, very unique. Looks a little rough graphically at the moment, and I noticed a camera glitch when sonic was flying to another part of the level at one point.

"Aside from a cutscene here and there, you won't see too many of Sonic's other characters."

I don't understand how it's taken them so many years to realize this. I don't wanna search for treasure, or shoot up stuff in a giant mech, or play as Amy. I JUST WANNA GO FAST

How does the 3DS version look so good? I mean, we saw screens before, but I assumed the frame rate would be ass. This actually looks on par with Mario 3D Land.

When Nintendo gets exclusivity I would guess they would help supervise the project and divulge some of the secrets of maxing out powers on their console..

The game looks like a clusterfuck (because they want it to be). Holy shit, so many possibilities, I'm overwhelmed by them.

It looks incredible on 3DS too. But I'm not really sure if I like this or not, I'm not feeling it at all... =/

Watched the WiiU video as well. Love the level variety. Both in its Themes and gameplay style. Really hyped up. I really tempted to pick up both versions of the game.

It's good that the 3DS version seems to be good since it's the version that will sell the most. IIRC the (mostly bashed) 3DS version of Generations sold the most.

I'm wondering how the 3DS version is going to feel since in the article, Dimps is mentioned.

To their credit, the 3DS Classic Sonic physics felt more accurate than the console Generations' Classic Sonic, but ... eh, I know I'll pick it up anyway!

Watching at the second level shown in the Wii U video. All those cannons remind me of Donkey Kong Country. :D

Is that right? I took a look at the 3DS ones and they look pretty good, but if the one in the OP is the WII U version...I can't say I'm very impressed at it visually. It looks mad fun, but I would have expected better considering how the 3DS version looks.

At the start of the video, you can clearly see a message about pressing the (+) key. 3DS doesn't have one of those, so it's most definitely the Wii U version. To me there's a discernible difference between the videos linked. Wii U version is very clean and smooth. 3DS version's framerate stutters and the graphics are an obvious downgrade, but still look great by 3DS standards.

If you hear people talking it's the Wii U version.

I gotta say, I did originally think the Wind Hill gameplay for the 3DS was for the Wii U.

They have got to have some parts of Nintendo helping them with the look of the game.

Day one! Bot versions look good. I'm thinking the Wii U version will get some polish in terms of graphics before release since it didn't actually start out for it. Other then that it's like Mario platforming meets classic sonic. I love it! Might have to double dip on this one.

Thanks for the links.

Looks good but a couple of things i'm not too hot on. One being the cut-scene as you jump between zones breaks the flow up a bit too much for me. Would prefer if you just stayed behind Sonic. Other is that there is quite a lot of stopping and starting - not really getting the feeling of free flowing speed.

Still, look forward to seeing more.

They are clearly loading the next area in that cutscene. Still they could make it a little bit smother, there is a clear jump from the moment you leave the area and the moment is loading. As soon as it loads, the landing part of the cutscene is okay.

The classic badniks. The Flickies and other classic animal friends. The overall "Sonic 16-bit aesthetic". This game does more to remind me of what I could have imagined Sonic looking like in 3D than anything else we've gotten in the last decade+. And the parkour elements do a lot to remind of the kinds of things I imagined Sonic being able to do ever since I saw the Sonic CD anime cuts for the first time.

Bravo, Sega. You've got me interested in going Day 1 for a Sonic game again. Unless we count Taxman's Sonic CD port for PSN...it's been awhile...
