Clone characters should just be made into alternate costumes, rather than taking up character slots. Make Falco into a Fox alt, for example, or Dr. Mario a costume for Mario.

If Mega Man does get added, where does he get his design and moveset from? Is he an amalgamation of Mega Men throughout the years or is he X or is he MM2's Mega Man since that seems to be the most popular game in the series?

They did a sort-of better job with Brawl, like with Mario & Luigi feeling more unique than in Melee, but then we got stuff like Fox/Wolf/Falco and Ness/Lucas having the same Final Smash, only slightly different. Hoping there'll be less clones than before, but then again, the more characters you add to a roster, the harder it is to make them unique.
It's not really a huge twist and could be seen coming a mile away.
They should add Ghirahim, Impa, and Demise.

Well i think all of you are misunderstanding my point. I'm seeing a lot of, "how is once per console too much!!!???" Development time for each game is very long and pretty much fills in this lengthy time gap you guys keep bringing up. And it's cool to see nintendo put together a large new team for a game like this, but I would like to see the same efforts from these people put into new IPs. And yeah I know smash is a money maker, but yeah after 5 titles, give it to another team is all I'm saying, or do something drastically different with it. Yet somehow this is crazy to you guys. And believe me i love smash!(melee is one of the only games i play competitively and im actually pretty damn good, and hey i made the dojo thread years back... ) But yeah, after 5 titles I would like to see the team and or/ the amount of effort nintendo puts into making teams for this put onto something else. that's it.
ps. im pretty damn stoked for the new trailer

Real talk: nobody has a fucking clue who Takamaru is. His game never came out outside of Japan. Will he be in the game? Yes. Will be he be in the reveal trailer? Not ahead of Little Mac.
Oh, and Punch-Out!! was a Top 10 NES and Wii game. He's Nintendo royalty, time they treat him as such.

I don't misunderstood your point and I think most of us just disagreed with you there. There is no point for them to spend a lot of money to make a new IP that they might have no idea if it will be success or fail so it's too risky move for them to do that.
Also THEY DID GAVE IT TO OTHER TEAM twice. Also I'm sure that you have heard of phrase, if it's not broken then don't fix it.

I feel like Dr. Mario for Mario is pretty obvious and Roy for Marth (hell, give him Lucina as well since people seem to like her). I'd love to see Mr. L for Luigi.

I still think Little Mac, Takamaru and Palutena are almost definitely going to be in SSB4's announcement trailer on Tuesday. Shulk, Ridley, Chrom and K. Rool I still see being likely and maybe showing up on Tuesday, just aren't quite as obvious shoe-ins to me as the formerly listed characters.

the team is just like 15 dudes and namco-bandai, and if namco-bandai weren't working on this all they'd be making is more tekken rehashes and spinoffs.

that train of thought is terrible and if was actually true smash bros wouldn't exist.
I'd be up for this. Allow characters to take advantage of moves & items they've used in other games that they haven't used in Smash Bros., like Luigi could use the Poltergust 5000 or maybe work some moves from spin-offs like Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, or Kirby Epic Yarn.
